In the latest TV Guide that I received today, there is an article about Wentworth Miller who plays a convict in the TV show Prison Break. When asked who he would play if he could play any character in literature, he said that he would "love to have a crack at General Zod from Superman. So I'm hoping that Bryan Singer makes a sequel to the "Superman" that's coming out and casts me."

I kinda prefer Zod being older than Kal-El or at least look like he is. However, Miller does have that crazy look as Mentok pointed out. Sort of a calculating look to him.

he is older that happen is he was in the "pantom zone" for about 30 years. so he is 30-40 years because he did not age.IMHO.......thx:)norm

the pic isn't showing up for me, but if it's who I think it is he'd definitely work. Hell, while I agree that he should be a bit older I kinda like the idea that when he tried to overthrow the council he was some punk in his 20s, and thanks to not aging in the phantom zone he's now closer in the phantom zone.

He can't be Zod, Zod is dead, he died at the end of Richard Lester's Superman II!

Zod should be about the same age as Jor-El (when he died) anyway.

I like Miller, but I think he's a little young for Zod.
I'd really like to see him play Kyle Raynor in a GL movie, personally.

Miller is great choice for Zod!
they could easily make him look older if they wanted to.

Actually, if you have the Restored International Cut, he doesn't die but is hauled off by the Arctic Police or something. :)
Oh yeah, Prison Break is produced by Brett Ratner, so he could theoretically put in a word to Singer about Miller.

He can't be Zod, Zod is dead, he died at the end of Richard Lester's Superman II!
well when you are depowered and you fall down a crevice in an ice fortress in the arctic you'll either die from the fall or the exposure to the weather....and since his hand was pretty much crushed by Superman he may have even died the worst way from shock...and if the police came for the kryptonians why didnt Superman just turn Lex over to them instead of flying him back to jail

Depends what version you've seen. I've seen the 3 criminals carted away by arctic police at the end of SII. I guess this summer we will see fer sure when Donner's cut comes out.

Why would a sequel have Zod in it? Remaking the first movie was enough, don't ya think?

Miller is a model and can't act for poop. Plus I dunno whether I want to see zod.
Ive always been a proponent of doomsday, (In a death of Supes film). That'll never happen under Singer's watch.
But Id like them to borrow from the comics for a fesh villian vs Zod or and especially Luthor. Next please!

i think Gavin Rosedale could pull it off the best + he did a decent job in Constintite

Miller would have to be a few years older to tackle the role, I think. There are a handful of other actors I'd rather see in the role before this guy, though.

Miller could work. Thing is he's 33-34 years old, and i thought he was in his 20's. He didn't really look his age to me but on Prison Break he does really well on that show. I could see him.

If Superman can actually de-age for SR, then so can Zod for the sequel.:D I just don't think this guy has the presence to play Zod. I mean we need a Brit to play Zod, right?

An idea for the next movie.... Make Gavin Rossdale into ZOD!!
here is like 2 min worth of work after standing back a bit he can pull it off just fine i think and hes not a bad actor either and perfect age too a little older the routh and looks iek he can give routh a run for his money

Wentworth Miller... Gavin Rossdale is all good and played a perfect roll in constantine but i really want to see wentworth miller, because he actually looks young and i want to see him spar off with brandon, so being trapped in the phantom zone this time maybe he retained a certain young age. i know terrance stamp wasnt at all young as him in the classic but that was then.

I dunno......if he's stuck in the Phantom Zone....wouldn't he be left sort of like in a suspended animated state? He wouldn't really age at all.......
Or, hell....they could go with what Smallville did and have Zod inhabit the body of a human being, sort of like a host.
Miller has that cold and very calculating look.....he CAN be creepy too....and think about it: He might make an awesome villian VERSUS Routh.
Obviously, he'd have to follow Routh and hit the weight room.
But, hey big ups to the comic book world.....he was asked about a character from literature and went with Zod. Nice. Ya know he's gotta be a Superman fan for sure.
