  Wow, that's awesome, just like I imagined it. The only thing that's always bothered me is the FOS has no defences--anyone can walk in. With that technology, I always thought no one would ever be able to get near it without supes permission/presence. Ah well. I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing Lex act slightly crazy when Lois says "Superman will ne-." God, can't wait for the trailer. Hopefully in a few weeks.

Thanks for the tip. I opened the link in Quicktime and it works perfectly! Im on MacOS X using Safari, so it didnt work when i clicked on the link here. Im tempted to belive that one has the footage of this. Unless he has quite a great memory of what was seen, i doubt he'd be able to draw scene for scene, angle for angle of what was shown without having the actual footage. Interesting...

Apparently it was done from a mere description. I am sure there was more to the footage angle wise, but I have my suspicions.

yup, it's all from Quint's description at AICN. Motown Marvel broke it down shot by shot, and ComicFan drew it all using the vast multitude of public info like released pics and blogs and interviews to draw it all up. He did a stunning job.

04-10-2006, 02:31 AM
wow, that looked great.

i originally told justin that i'd storyboard the "trailer", but i quickly realized i couldnt fit it into my busy schedule since im working on my portfolio submissio for DC comics, and i still feel bad about passing this oppertunity. but i was fortunate to have a hand in this by somewhat playing director and writing the panel for panel breakdown of what would be in the panels, how the shots could be composed, and what not. that was then passed onto ComicFan. and for some unknown reason (which i had absolutely no basis for) i never thought the final product would ever turn out this great. i never thought that whatever artist did this would be able to produce what i had in my head and intended to do myself. but ComicFan exceeded all my expectations, did a great job, and seriously delivered like a pro and in an extremely short period of time. im extremely jealous of him that i had to pass on what would have been a very fun task....but im glad that i got to play a small role.

great job comicfan! he deserves all the praise an recognition for actually making this happen.

yea I can imagine it, the perfect shot for me would be like this, clark gets in the elevator, then we see his face expression changing from worried to determined and very serious, we then see a close-up of clark's face and then pan down to his chest as he rips the shirt open revealing the S, and then he takes impulse and flies up with his clark clothes still on.Then he crashes into the elevator roof and goes through it tearing a hole, then we see clark flying up as his clothes falls off very quick and we get a crane shot similar to the one in the teaser but better, as he flies passing by the camera, and cape behind flapping with the swoosh sound of the cape and everything.

It wont be the trailer... What was shown at ShoWest was a specially edited footage montage (like the one shown at last years comic-con)... The theatrical trailer is propobly in the works now.. and it'll most likely have bits of what was in this ShoWest footage, but for the most it'll be new stuff.

It's no problem, dude. I loved the movie for what it was (popcorn fare with a comedic Depp performance). I guess that's why I have an easier time watching some movies and not so much of others. I'm very critical of anything Superman, but when I went to see Fantastic Four I really wasn't let down like a lot of folks were because I didn't walk through the Regal Cinemas lobby expecting Lawrence of Arabia. I wasn't overwhelmed or underwhelmed. I guess I was just whelmed. Don't worry, man. You won't get banned if you just debate and keep it civil. It's never a crime to have an opinion...as long as you're ready to back it up;). That's why I have an easy time with Smallville. It's so easy to pick it apart...it'd be a crime if I couldn't.

Yeah, but that was the only way he knew of how to get to Lex. There wasn't time to find the entrance because of the threat of a bomb.

I'm sure the Daily Planet has doors, probably even on the roof. Plus, people would wonder why there's a hole on the roof of the Daily Planet suddenly. Maybe someone else saw Superman fly out of it. And then they'd wonder why he flew out of the DP building in the first place.

wow, that looked great.

i originally told justin that i'd storyboard the "trailer", but i quickly realized i couldnt fit it into my busy schedule since im working on my portfolio submissio for DC comics, and i still feel bad about passing this oppertunity. but i was fortunate to have a hand in this by somewhat playing director and writing the panel for panel breakdown of what would be in the panels, how the shots could be composed, and what not. that was then passed onto ComicFan. and for some unknown reason (which i had absolutely no basis for) i never thought the final product would ever turn out this great. i never thought that whatever artist did this would be able to produce what i had in my head and intended to do myself. but ComicFan exceeded all my expectations, did a great job, and seriously delivered like a pro and in an extremely short period of time. im extremely jealous of him that i had to pass on what would have been a very fun task....but im glad that i got to play a small role.

great job comicfan! he deserves all the praise an recognition for actually making this happen.

It was really awesome. From start to end seeing what we can expect to see and how Superman will fly it looked so cool! All we need now is the real footage.
