I think Colossus being gay adds something to a, IMO, bland character. I also think Ultimate Nick Fury is better than 616 Fury.

But they are different characters, they aren't the same ones from the 616 universe. If you want to read about the characters from the 616 universe, you can do so in the non Ultimate Marvel comics. Frankly what's the ultimate Universe if all the characters are exactly the same, there will be different stories, so what, what's to prevent these stories from being told in the 616 universe? What 's the difference if all characters are exactly the same? How would the stories of the Ultimate Universe be truly different from the 616 stories if the characters are exactly the same in both universes?

I wanna bring up my post from the previous page because it wasn't really answered.

The concept of Ultimate Alliance seems cool. Pick from 20 plus playable Marvel heroes to make your dream team in an action RPG. Yeah, on paper it sounds awesome. And a crap load of super villains too.

But have they corrected the faults of X-Men: Legends? That's what I want to know. Pretty big faults, like peoples powers being too similar. Attacks being too similar. The only difference between certain characters was their costume, that kind of thing. Gambit, Psylocke, etc. I don't think they had enough unique about them, or had strenghts and weaknesses to make a well balanced team. The characters themselves were too balanced, or something. Know what I mean? There were other faults too, like gameplay problems, and boring levels.

I won't buy Ultimate Alliance if they haven't went above and beyond to improve gameplay.

Thing is 616 Thor's godhood is questioned. The general public feels he and Hercules are nutjobs for saying they are gods. 616 Cap said he didn't think that Thor was a god either. Until he saw Asgard, met Odin, etc, etc. 616 Namor was a criminal (terrorist technically but that term wasn't really applied in the 40's). Hulk is supposed to be a monster. Ultimate Hulk is more of a monster than 616 Hulk.

I felt it got extremely reptetive, there was a great deal of backtracking, the levels wern't particuarly interesting, the graphics were average standard, and as you said the characters powers all felt similar

Yes, yes. All of that is true. I have to say, the graphics of Ultimate Alliance don't exactly look next gen to me. However, that won't matter if they make it a fun game and correct the faults of XML. Basically in an effort to control the hulk after killing about three thousand people in NY, he goes to tibet to get hulk under control, and thats where wolverine finds a relativly calm hulk, who invites him for tea. we dont know what happens next because the writer, some guy off lost, is too busy on that crappy, overrated show to get his issues done.

I think we'll see a game like this down the line. At the very least, they can at least make the perfect Spider-Man game after they make the 3rd Spidey movie game. The perfect Spider-Man game - flashbacks of classic battles, destructable environment, the biggest rogues gallery ever seen in a Spidey game, superhero cameos a plenty, fighting the Sinister 6, maybe later in the game teaming up with heroes to fight the Sinister 12, a large main game story that involves all of Spidey's main villains, fighting Morlun, fighting the Hulk, etc etc etc etc.

With next gen power, they have no reason NOT to make the perfect Spidey game.

Shadowcat is a trained fighter. She's been trained by Wolverine. But she hasn't got alot of strength. However, she can phase inside of people and do major damage that way. It would be cool seeing her do cool moves like sinking into the ground and grabbing enemies by the feet.

but you won't have infinite energy, so she'd become useless when she runs out, at least wolverine and cyclops are tough and well trained(altho cyclops sucks soooo much balls!

Most (if not all) of the characters would be useless when they run out of energy. The game won't let you won't get far by just punching and kicking (non-powered wise). You'll need the energy attacks. Shadowcat is highly trained in hand-to-hand and her power attacks would be something we haven't seen before.

Wolverine did become ridiculously powerful after a point. Toss in a sufficiently leveled healing factor and you really couldn't go wrong.

shadowcat cant be put in the game because if they gave a character with the ability to phase through walls there would be nothing stopping her from phasing through every wall in the game.night crawler is a different story because his powers can be manipulated into not being able to be used in some areas.shodowcat however cant be restrained by the same means.even if she was able to be put in the game,people would just phase all the way to the boss anyway....thats probably why nightcrawler isnt playable in this game.people were ruining the gaming experience by taking too many shortcuts.

Namor has been tossed around as far as announcments. Theres no confirmation of him being playable at all, but there is a chance since its been stated there will be a change in the game if you choose to save atlantis. And I'm saving Atlantis every time.

Depends on what exactly you're looking for. Roughly, the graphics are about the same, but the 360 looks crisper. It'll probably be more conventional on the 360, so if you liked the format of XML or XML2, it'll be just like that.

Personally, I'm going with the Wii simply because I know I'll need a game to take a break from LoZ:Twilight Princess, all the previews state the controller works no problem and it supposed to get some exclusive characters.

I think thats 30 total across all system but not 30 per game. The current gen will have 20 + 4 unlockables. The next gen will have 2 exclusives and the PSP will have 4 exclusives for a total of 30 all together

Really? Cable and X-man are two of my overall favorite characters in XML2. They have a lot of great specials and are better then most of the characters in the console roster...plus its X-Man and Cable! Dark Phoenix was really good as well, but she was just too overpowered. She has a lot of moves and she was cool to use, but she just killed everyone too fast. Cannonball is the least cool of all the exclusive characters.

I'm used to playstation's usual controllers, but I'm definately getting the Wii. Everything I've seen is damn impressive and PS3 is looking like its headed for disaster. I'm hoping Nintendo doesn't drop the ball on this one either, and the Wiimote enhances game play like its supposed to. The red one is supposed to be Ult. Strange? I dont really remember what Strange Sr. looked like, but I know Strange Jr basically had the classic look. And on a side note, if Malice isnt one of the Invisible Woman's alternates, I'll be pissed as hell.

And heres a thought..... what if Deadpool is just a skin of Blade? Cause that would actually make alot of sense.
