I posted a shot or him and Iron Man that they listed as his classic costume, but it was Ultimate Cap instead. I look at that picture on the site now and it is classic Cap (w/ wingtips) and then there another's shot of three other Cap suits (inlcuding Ultimate). Weird. At any rate...

If you saw the end of the PS3 trailer, that type of move for Deadpool looked like he was shooting a shotgun, it’s pretty powerful. Oh and he’s a hero – thanks for catching that on the screensaver – we’ll make that update! Of course, there’s another unlockable in the game who has these moves:
Sniper – Use high-powered rifle to shoot a single enemy. Great long range attack, not good at close range.
SMG – Pull out a submachine gun and fire.
Shotgun guy = Deadpool.
New char = Sniper/SMG = Punisher/Fury.

Hey VIPs,
With the launch of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance rapidly approaching, we are pleased to confirm two MORE characters for your roster! One is across all platforms and the other is a PSP-exclusive. It’s a MARVELous Friday with the confirmations of Ms.. Marvel and Captain Marvel in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance!
Not only are two new playable characters revealed today, but if you check out the MEDIA + VIDEO section, you will find two brand new VIP-exclusive videos featuring Captain America and Dr. Strange! Plus, yet another behind-the-scenes video will be posted later today.
Captain Marvel is one of the four PSP-exclusive characters in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Interestingly enough, he once shared a romance with Ms. Marvel, aka Carol Danvers, who was investigating him while working as a CIA agent with Wolverine and Nick Fury early in her career. Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel formed a romantic bond during the investigation and ended up adventuring together for a time.
Ms. Marvel is a playable character from the beginning of the game across all platforms. Her genetics were altered when she was exposed to a Psyche-Magnitron which enabled her to have powers of flight, super-strength and the ability to emit concussive blasts from her hands. These were all stolen when she encountered then Brotherhood villain Rogue however, and she fell into a coma with her powers and memories stolen away.
She did recover eventually and joined the X-Men, and later became known as Binary with new powers – which were sacrificed once again to save the world. Now she is part of the Avengers and known as Warbird, with her original powers that Rogue stole back.
Ms. Marvel’s various costumes, including Warbird, Binary, her original outfit and one as Sharon Ventura, will be posted after the game launches so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out these awesome powers in the game:
Luminous – A powerful force blast.
Photon Burst – Spawns multiple energy balls that orbit Ms. Marvel and attacks enemies that come into range.
Explosive Touch – Charges an enemy with explosive energy that blows up after a time.
Mega Blast – Fires a blast of energy into the ground, causing radial damage and reducing attack speed of enemies.
Prism – Shoots energy beam that can split off and hit multiple enemies.
Binary Boost – Added Energy Damage to attacks and increases Energy Damage resistance for Ms. Marvel and allies.
Cosmic Awareness – Slows time for everyone except Ms. Marvel and her allies.
Warbird’s Wrath – Xtreme attack with massive flash of light that does Energy Damage and stuns enemies.
Special Throw – Tosses the enemies over her head, slamming them into the ground.

I like Ms. Marvel, but this her 'being an X-Man' thing is bunk. I know she was with them for awhile (missions and all), though I don't know if she was ever officially an X-Man. Even if she was, she's not on the role call when you think X-Men, she's nowhere near it. With the multitude of characters that fit the bill (a good number of which we've kicked around here), this is really a gip.

trust me, she was not an X-man. She first appeared in the book as a normal human. Xavier was helping her recuperate after Rogue had stolen her powers and memories. Se was a supporting character much like Moira was. She was taken to space with the X-men when the Brood attacked and she got powered up as Binary and helped the Shiar and X-men fight them. She helped for about 3 issues. Xavier asked her to join the X-men and she declined bc Rogue was there. She then left to join teh Starjammers in space and has pretty much had nothing to do with the X-men since. She's an Avenger character and thats how she should be portrayed in this game. Calling her an X-man is a crock. Like Freemadison, I would have prefered Cable

that would be neat, but Rogue isnt listed as a skin for her, unless its a secret. Still, it wouldnt work bc Rogue doesnt have the same powers as Ms. Marvel

Yikes. I was about to re-post Ms. Marvel's powers too. :woot:
For a minute I thought about whether or not it'd make a difference if they used Rogue's Snufire-based powers to pass off another Ms. Marvel skin. That's reaching, but not it's not as bad as claiming Carol was an X-Man.

Its a mediocre roster at best. I mean half is good choices the other half just makes you scratch your head.
Blade, Deadpool (although fun in XML2), Luke Cage, Spider-woman, Nick Fury, Ronin, Iceman and Colossus really shouldn't be playable.
If they needed two more X-men, Cyclops (DUH!!) and Rogue would have been better choices. The even play the same roles of projectiles and tanks.
Blade? Come on. Deadpool, Nick Fury? In a game about powers, three roster spots go to guys with guns. Really? Were you just to lazy to go for some unique powers, like say.... Wasp?
Luke Cage? If you need a strong man, you've got Hulk. Hell, Hercules could have been an alternate skin, so theres two birds right there.
Spider-woman? I swear, if Spider-Girl isnt a skin, this whole spot is useless *cough* Ms.Marvel *cough*. Yeah, people are really knocking down the door to be Sharon Ventura. I bet everyone knows who she is.
And Nova really should be on all consoles. He's really a cool and unique character. Its just sad that he'll only be available to all players, not just a fraction. The only solace in that is that they'll probably half-ass him, just like they did to Canonball.
If I could make my own roster of 24 characters, I'd have it mixed of 6 X-men: Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Storm, Jean (closer to her XML1 version than XML2) and Beast. Then F4. 7 Avengers: Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Quicksilver, Wasp, Vision. And finally the core Defenders: Hulk, Silver Surfer, Namor and Dr.Strange. For the remaining, I'd have Spider-man, Nova, Speedball and Karolina from Runaways.
Malice, Ms. Marvel, Scarlet Spider, Hercules, Vision II and War Machine would be alternates.
Now thats a good mix of characters.

I won't go as far as complaining that the game has been ruined or anything, but I understand why someone could give this a WTF? Anybody paying attention to this thing knew that Ms. Marvel was in. The issue some people have is why did they go about saying there was a 4th X-Man and then passing that off as Ms. Marvel just because she teamed up with them a few times. She's not a bona fide X-Man. It doesn't make any sense. Just have that character's reveal and be done with it. With all the legitimate X-characters out there and roster spots still available, this comes off as a swerve. It just seems like they wanted to intentionally mislead people.

If I could pick the roster then I probably would have still only kept 4 X-men because there are sooo many X-men games (by Activision for that matter) as it is.

I like Deadpool and all but we already had him in Legends. And Spider-Woman would have to have a Spider-Girl skin for me to give a rat's ass.

no, but it doesnt change the gameplay at all.. so im not finding it much of a problem at all plus colossus is in the next gen

Justice League Heroes looks like that it is going to be awesome as does Marvel Ultimate Alliance I reckon a great sequel to both of these games would be:

I won't go as far as complaining that the game has been ruined or anything, but I understand why someone could give this a WTF? Anybody paying attention to this thing knew that Ms. Marvel was in. The issue some people have is why did they go about saying there was a 4th X-Man and then passing that off as Ms. Marvel just because she teamed up with them a few times. She's not a bona fide X-Man. It doesn't make any sense. Just have that character's reveal and be done with it. With all the legitimate X-characters out there and roster spots still available, this comes off as a swerve. It just seems like they wanted to intentionally mislead people.
Exactly! The issue was them hyping up a 4th X-man and then saying its her. They shouldnt have said anything about anymore X-men bc this is a letdown. Shoot Deadpool would have made more sense

I would love to continue playing as X-men. I think 4 is a good number. The X-men have to be in this game bc they are a big part of the Marvel Universe and one of Marvel's largest selling franchise. I think the Blade hate comes from the fact, that he's really not that big in the MU. As a matter of fact, he has pretty much nothing to do with these characters. When people think of Marvel Super Heroes, Blade doesnt come to mind. He's like in his own seperate universe and doesnt even interact with the rest. He's more of a presence in his movies than he ever was in the books. I think the only reason he's included is bc A) he had tv show debut this fall (which is now cancelled) and has a new series, which I bet wont last long. Another reason I think Blade doesnt get much love is that there's not anything really special about him. What can he do that other characters cant? He doesnt really stand out and seems more like a bland character, power and ability wise. I guess we'll have to see how Raven implemented him exactly, but he's not someone Im dying to play as.

I really wish there were PS2/XBox exclusives. Couldnt they just have added 2 characters from XML2? They already have a movelist and character models for them. I dont think it would have taken too much time coding them and working out the kinks to put them here. And if the reason for it was bc of time, then they should have had 2 less PSP exclusives so that each system could have something.

Out of the all the exclusives announced, the only one that I feel I'm really missing out on is Moon Knight. It would have been sweet to play as Spector. Nova would be cool too. Hawkeye, Ronin, Mar-Vell and whoever else don't bother me as much. However, if Daredevil is announced as an exclusive, I will lose it. :cmad: :csad:

Supposedly Ms. Marvel was confirmed last night as a playable character, and from what I understand she's the last X-men. The game is released on the 24th.

I love Carol and very glad she is in the game, but damn. She doesn't need to be the fourth X-Man.
And I really was thinking Archangel would be the last X-Man up until now:
1.) He would be pretty easy to market, as X3 made him alot more publically known.
2.) Powers while in flight obviously fits him perfectly.
3.) While Captain America has a US Agent costume, Ghost Rider has a Vengeance costume, Angel could have an Archangel costume (or vice versa).
4.) X-Men Legends 2 seems to have corrected the problems the game developers had with his wings in XML1. You would know this especially if you hex edited Archangel on the PC.
5.) He's been all over the Marvel universe.
Oh well, there's always the next game. Unless (or in Angel's case, until) he's skipped over yet again. :csad:

Agreed! People have to complain about something. The game looks awesome but now people are complaining about the characters, in which the game was created with the largest character.....thing in history. Blade is in it becuase of the most popular characters known in the MU TODAY. Yep, even more popular than the mighty Thor among known comic fans. Fanboys got to stop *****ing and moaning about everything! I remember fanboys were complaining about the marvel commercial for visa and it was obviously intended to be a joke. Yet people wanted a feature length special effects. Blade is in the Marvel universe just as much as the Punisher, dude had more movies and a tv show than Cap, IM, and Thor but.......the hell with it. :mad:

They could make Archangel cool. He fought with a sword for a short bit so they could have given him attacks based on that. During the Twelve storyline, he developed new powers which included turning his wings into light energy. He was able to shoot out energy from his wings as well as heal others with its light. He also turned his fingers into talons for slashing. He's also a healer and one of his boosts could be to regenerate his energy. And with his wings, he can create wind attacks. There is PLENTY that could be done with him without his metallic wings as Death.

Bucky is something between a villain and a hero these days. One shouldn't compare Bucky to Jason Todd - Bucky's return has made for some great stories whilst Jason Todd's return has been a waste of time done solely for shock value. Still, looking forward to throwing Cap's shield in his face as hard as possible!

meh... only thing they could have done is a move that steals powers (not the crappy stat changes and immunities) and when you have a power you press the same move to use it.. when you use it you have a certain number of uses before you run out of it

they could have done alot more things with rouge.
southern spin:grabs enemy by feet and spins him around in the air then lets go sending him flying
power absorbtion:absorbs powers for a time.when this ability is used,rouges ep points slowly degenerate until they run out leaving her depowered for a while until they are regained.
rouge's rampage/boost:rouge psykes herself up in battle causing an increase in melee damage for every hit
rechannel energy:rouge absorbs an enemy's defensive abilities using them as her own until energy runs out
quake:rouge punches the ground forcefully causing popup,and stun for larger enemies
uppercut-strike:rouge two-handed uppercuts the enmy then punches them while in the air
full nelson:rouge grabs the enemy leaving him vaulnerable to ally's attacks

And that's my life story. Boring life I know. But yeah, have they said exactly how many playable characters there will be? On the official website there's heaps of spaces for current "coming soon" characters and yeah, there was something about releasing one character every week or something but that's probably just useless because the game comes out next week in the US doesn't it? either way, what characters other than the released ones do you think there will be? Not neccessarily playable, I guess. I don't think Henry Pym is playable and he's on the site, so that just got me thinking that Probably Wasp will be too. Hah, whenever I think of those two I think of Marvel Zombies where Pym bites off Wasps head to conserve the meat he needs to eat from Black Panther who he's keeping alive to keep his meat fresh and slowly cutting off body parts. I hope that if there is a MUA2 that the roster is a lot more balanced. If we can't get Hulk,why not Hercules? When was the last time he was in a game? Is this game hard to control? Also on IGN I'm not sure if this has been posted yet but you can see everyone's costume. Theres also a new video on Gametrailers. This game is over 25 hours long!
it took me about 40 hours to complete XML2
Rogue was by far my favorite in XML2. She could clear the room instantly. The only thing that pissed me off was the costumes they gave her. It's like they weren't even trying.They really did her an injustice by not giving her aerial combat. After seeing how well it can be done in Justice League Heroes, Rogue would have rocked if she could fight in the air. She would have been amazing against a Sentinel. Since they didnt give her that, I didnt fight her to be much fun to use. Only thing I really did with her was fly around. They didnt even get her base powers right. I much preferred Colossus for my strength character

I read the whole Cell Block D arc and I loved it......but I still hate DD; if that makes sense. The reason I liked that arc had nothing to do w/ matt's character. It could have revolved around Medusa's hair stylist and I would have loved it.

He's not really a super bad huy. He's been a villain before, fighting the Fantastic Four usually, but it's usually just because he's doing what his governemnt ordered him to do. He's an alien (a Kree) and unfortunately he is very loyal to his world and will do what his orders say. Right now in Annhilation though, he is being shown that he really isn't evil though.
Either way, he is a total badass

Tomorrow the game will hit the shelves. I have to say, my anticipation and hype for the game have totally died down.
After playing Justice League Heroes for countless hours, I just realized what a brainless button smasher the Legend series actually is. And the new gameplay vids are total turn offs, with their totally crowded stages and non-stop brawling. :(

Well, I personally think it's great. Though it certainly does have its few flaws.
Those would be that you have to play through at least 5 Missions before you can choose who you want to play with. Which means you'll have to wait for a long time before you get to play your unlocked characters. It's only 2 Player co-op. The controls will feel slow and sluggish at first if you're used to XML1-2, which doesn't mean that they are bad. The game is only around 10 hours long.
Aside from those points the game is a great experience. In my opinion it does a better job than both XML games in portraying the characters abilities. Each character has 4-5 different powers and when they are properly leveled and equipped with boost orbs, they will be as devastating as they are in the comics. Flash for example, if he's leveled and equipped with the proper boosts he really IS the Flash. You literally will be able to run circles around your opponent. And Superman? He my friend will be the Man of Steel because he as a nice move that can reduce damage by 50%. If you equipped orbs that number can turn into 70%. And his heat vision will lay anything to waist.
Each character plays unique and you won't encounter any recycled moves. Unlockables excluded, that's where Snowblind really dropped the ball. You have 3 different Green Lanters in the game and they all play the same.
I don't know if you would consider it worth buying with a playtime of only 10 hours, (I'm already finished it for a third time btw.) but you should definitely rent it and give it a try.

Finally Spider-Woman has been confirmed. Cant wait to play as her. She wil definetly be teaming up with Spidey. LOVE that the black/white costume is in. She and the symbiote costume side by side should be sweet

well Jessica doesnt really have any costumes. The only one Ive ever seen her in is the clasic red/yellow. I think it was a given that she'd borrow from the others.
