When I beat the game I'll use them...is there level select at the end? Or do they pull an X-Men Legends and give you the main menu only?!:mad: I never got to do the Danger Room missions or anything!:(

you can go back to any level from each Extraction Point. Just choose extract and choose which location from the Act you want to go to

It has nothing to do with Bullseye. All you have to do is to beat up 30 enemies, that means you have to play Spidey and always deliver the final blow with him, and you'll unlock the Symbiote costume.

He's incredible. Although he has a few moves that I don't care for, his Extensive Strike and Baton Throw moves are just awesome. Both his melee moves and double jump are sweet.

You just have to wait until that bastard breaks the buildings himself...then do the ddr thing...after all four pillars are down..you get some item and that's that.

Naw, they're not horrible. They don't have a chance against the 360's graphics of course, but they are pretty good. They don't hurt my eyes or anything.

I pretty much had Mr. Fantastic, Daredevil, Thor and Silver Surfer the whole time. The only difference in my roster was when I exchanged Mr. Fantastic for Ghost Rider when I was in Mephisto's level.

My current team consists of:

Dr. Strange in Blue Sorcerer outfit. All three stats on that are maxed, and he's gained nearly every focus/body/strike through 2 runthroughs (just started Act4 on Hard). With Mandirins Ring.

He's literally the most overpowered guy in the game. All you have to do is use Black Magic on anything and they either die in 1 bolt, or they'll turn into a crate. If theres 3-4 enemies around you, just use his Radial Flame spell and mash on the button that makes it do more damage. My bolt does (last I saw) around 290Dmg, while the flame does 100 + 19per extra hit.

It's oh so delicious. Oh, and the team bonus has full +10% damage, health and energy with 3 or 4 in the XP gain.

You have to kill all of the guys around him. After you kill them all he break a pillar and more come out.

I made the mistake of thinking I could set up several pre-set teams, and named my "first" team (Luke Cage, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Thing) "Street Justice." Then I realized that was the only team I could set, and I couldn't rename it. So I just swapped in Dr. Strange for Luke and Spider-Woman for Thing (the two Spideys and Strange make up my main playing team-- also, I didn't have any team points to lose by swapping), and went along my merry way.

So now I have a team named Street Justice that features a cosmic sorcerer and an international spy. :o When I get some extra slots for it, I'm adding Luke... then Invisible Woman... then Captain America... then Storm... then Ghost Rider. After that, who knows.

Actually, while I'm on the topic of me messing up my team, does anyone know if there actually is a way to rename it?

you're using Ghost Rider? It has to be based on character and setting, it happened to me there when I used Ghost Rider and it happened to me in the Mandarin level with the clay warriors (not guardians) when I used Elektra.

you do know that you can swap out one member and still bonus? All you need is at least 3 people from your roster at all times. It also was not dumb to start right away bc if you didnt make one, then you would lose out on all the reputation points you would have earned

Damn... The AI pathfinding in this game is simply horrible. I've already lost count how many times the AI started walking into the opposite direction or simply didn't walk at all when I already walked through half the map.

They will - you will get no achievments for using these codes. There's a way around it - but it's tricky. Check the gamefaqs message boards for more info.

Personally, I say who cares. It only affects your xbox live gamertag score, and what difference does that really make? It takes too long to unlock every outfit for every character (IMO), so what the hell, you know?

Can someone answer me a question? Since when is Blade looking forward to kick Doom's ass, or since when does he care about Doom at all? Because this game makes it sound like going up against Doom is one of Blades hobbies.

Haven't really tried Luke Cage, neither am I planning to, and just played a little with DD.

Hmm.. I think'd I'd give the game a rating of 7.5/10. Definitely nothing higher than a 8. Although this game features an impressive character roster, too many characters share the same moves, only very few play unique. The graphics, IMO, seem to be a step down from XMLII. Some characters look good, others look like something from a PS1 game.

AI pathfinding is horrid, often they run against a wall, walk off into the opposite direction, or simply don't move at all. The gameplay seems to have gotten worse than XMLII, or maybe it's the same and I just haven't played XMLII in a long time. The keyword of every battle is dogpiling. The chaos seems to be worse than both XML games combined. But there are some nice little gimmicks added, like being able to dodge, pick up or steal weapons and every character has a unique throw. Haven't really tried Luke Cage, neither am I planning to, and just played a little with DD.

Hmm.. I think'd I'd give the game a rating of 7.5/10. Definitely nothing higher than a 8. Although this game features an impressive character roster, too many characters share the same moves, only very few play unique. The graphics, IMO, seem to be a step down from XMLII. Some characters look good, others look like something from a PS1 game.

AI pathfinding is horrid, often they run against a wall, walk off into the opposite direction, or simply don't move at all. The gameplay seems to have gotten worse than XMLII, or maybe it's the same and I just haven't played XMLII in a long time. The keyword of every battle is dogpiling. The chaos seems to be worse than both XML games combined. But there are some nice little gimmicks added, like being able to dodge, pick up or steal weapons and every character has a unique throw. Flying doesn't take up energy anymore and special moves can be finally executed in the air.

Thanks for your review. I hate how sites like gamespot don't pick up on these kinds of faults in their reviews. Gamespot probably gets payed off to do good reviews or something.

If what you say is the general consensus, I won't be purchasing Ultimate Alliance. Too bad, with such an impressive roster it could have been such a cool game.

Grab them with X

- once you have them, you can pound them with A, or do a special throw with B. (Or better yet - both. You can grab them, nail them 3 times, and still do the unique throw.)

Mr. F's special throw is sweet, Spidey's leaves them hanging from the ceiling and helpless. Pretty cool.

IMO, the controls are improved over XML2 - I like the block button, and there are plenty of cool charge moves (probably added to discourage mindless button mashing.) Once your opponents' attention is on a teammate - get behind them and wind up those charge moves - usually finishes them off.

I'm in the Arcade level's Fair Grounds trying to find the second golden ticket. There's a bumper car you can ride in this area.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do. There's a gate and next to it is one of those games where you hit the thing with a hammer and the metal piece goes and hits a bell. There's a light blue moving thing on that part you hit and I've tried all of my team on it. Nothing happens. I even used Thor's hammer and again, nothing. I've been here for the last 30 minutes. Please help.:(

Just use Dr. Stranges Blue Mage outfit, and max the three things on it. He's nearly unstoppable at the end of a Hard game, as everyone was only doing like 15 dmg instead of 25.

Well I just bought the PC version yesterday but my video card couldn't handle it (the characters were a bunch of black blobs running around and it was pretty slow) so I'm gonna play it on my friends comp. However, my computer could run X-Men Legends II perfectly. So my guess is it's either next gen graphics or a middle ground.

Maybe I'm just too much of a Marvel geek but so far, this story is better then XML1 and XML2 combined. EVERYBODY is involved and I'm loving every minute of it. Arcade and Murderworld is still my favorite setting because they absolutely nailed the flavor and tone. This game is more then worth buying.

That was completely amazing. The bad thing is that a scene like that would probably eat a third of the movie's budget all by itself. For a Thor fan, that Asgard stuff is spectacular. Kurse, Ulik, The Executioner, Heimdal, Sif, Balder... what's not to love? If I didn't retreat like a sissy with a portal jump, Kurse and Ulik would've beaten me easy. Thor, Dr. Strange and Iron Man fell hard leaving Wolverine to run for help.

Oh boy...

I chose to save Nightcrawler (Jean volunteered to save Nightcrawler, therefore allowing her to die allowed her to complete her mission). After the fight with Mephisto, he resurrects an echo of Jean's spirit, which he has near-full control of. You then have to fight both Mephisto and Jean. After you defeat Jean, she comes to her senses, and sacrifices her life (again) to kill Mephisto.

If you're in Asgard and Nightcrawler didn't come back to life during the Mephisto fight... I'm guessing you won't be seeing him again.

You save Jean and kill off Nightcrawler, Mystique kills Prof X and the XMen disband.
You save Nightcrawler and kill off Jean, Jean comes back as the Dark Phoenix and destorys the world.

I'm on my second gameplay of MUA. The game's great, but I wish it wasn't called the 'Ultimate Alliance' because it isn't. Seriously, alot of the bosses and pretty much near all of the NPCs are pretty piss poor. Where's Venom? and where's Magneto for that matter?

I wished the game delved more into the Spider-Man universe, as well as the Avengers and X-Men worlds - although not alot for the latter since we've already had 2 recent X-Men games.


EDIT: Murderworld is the best level in all 3 games.

I think Ms. Marvel is one of the best, if not the best character in the game. I have her leveled up around level 23 and she's a beast. Not only is she working good as a tank, but she's an amazing long ranged character. Her Prism Shot is one of the most powerful moves in the game. It tkaes off alof of damage and hits multiple enemies bc it splits off. This is really helpful when it comes to the bosses.

I scratch what I said earlier about Cage. A levelled up Cage is pretty good. One of his boosts augments his health and strength and he becomes pretty unstabble. His Drill Bit is pretty useful. He leaps in the air, comes down and takes out entire groups of enemies

There are trap doors on the floor (Convieniently labeled "Trap Door") one of them will drop your hero through and they reappear in a cannon which fires them at the robot. you do a qick little mini-game where they grapple to stay on the robot and eventually get the robot to hit itself.

She really only has two or three good skills. Her starter beam, Prism Shot, and her starter boost which adds damage.

Silver Surfers Radial does intense damage, Mollecular Mixup does an enormous amount of damage for the energy cost (and it's phys damage too, not energy like some of his other moves) his main Beam is the best direct beam in the game (tied with Spider-Woman) because it pierces, he can heal 87% of the parties HP at any time (if heal is maxed) and he has a slow to boot. Oh, and did I mention that his Xtreme move gives the team back 50%(I think, could be more) of their energy when he uses it?

But then again, he's the 'ultimate unlockable character', so I guess he should be the best in the game.

LOL. What's up with the AI in this game? The enemies are more clever than ever before (one enemy actually threw Spider-Woman into another enemy, who then swatted her into a fire. I'd be pissed if she wasn't a healer), but your allies are as dumb as dirt (I lost my entire party in Murderworld when they kept walking into the pits in the hedge maze).

but I like Fury - his SMG isn't very strong - but it eats very little energy and you can move and strafe while you fire it. His grenade is nice, and I just got the sniper rifle - very cool. He has a team buff that lowers damage taken, and his extreme power is a SHIELD airstrike.

The ones off the top of my head are as follows

Theres three of them when you get 200 finishing moves (one at 5, one at 50 and one at 200, or something like that).
Theres four for trivia (one at 15, 50 and 200, one for 20 in a row)
Theres three for completeing levels with other people (1 level, 10 levels, 25 levels)
Therees 3 for throwing guys of ledges, one at 5, 20 and 50 I believe.

Theres probably more for the trivia ones in a row, I'll have to look around.

I think they did a great job with Cap's shield - one of the best, most fun projectiles in the game, whether you're controlling it or not. I find it's better if you don't: toss it into a big crowd and it will bounce around and hit most of them. As it does, rush in and start grabbing and charging. When you need to throw it again you can - even if it hasn't come back to you yet. If you try and control the shield's flight path, you sort of get rooted, and this way you "lead" with it in a cool way. It gets really sick with damage and shield (costume) bonuses.

A problem - I only see my A.I. teammates using two powers - whatever two powers I have mapped to the attack buttons. They never use others, even if I have points in them. And they almost never seem to use their buff.

Anyone else notice this?

This! Game! Is! AWESOME!:eek: I loooove my 360 (just got it yesterday). I nearly shed a tear at the graphics alone. It's beautiful! I almost didn't even pay attention to anything anyone was saying. Wireless controllers rule!!! You can leave the room and still play it!!! :D

But yeah, this game is fun as hell and I find it extremely hard to stop playing. Even Mandarin's level, which was a pain in the ass, was good Marvel fun. Every character feels unique and has their own combos and style of attacks. Mr. Fantastic rules. This is just what a Marvel game should be like. They've nailed it. Only thing I miss really was the ability to smash just about everything like the walls, etc. Now when I do a move, their limbs go like right through it or just run into it. I miss having my brutes go running through walls and taking out everything in their path. :( Collosus's tackle and beatdown is great by the way and Captain America is possibly the best character in the game. Hope I get DD and Black Panther soon because finding their dolls are a pain in the ass. Heading to Mephisto's level next and I've got 3 Black Panthers and 2 Daredevils.

I just installed the game on my PC, damn it looks great. My PC isn't the most powerful, so I'm running the game on low settings and without any sort of light or shadow shader. Nor any other fancy gimmick that could make the game look better. And it still looks way better than the PS2 version.

If you save Jean you fight Nightcrawler when you fight Mephisto. And Visa Versa. You can only save one, and you don't get to play as either of them ever. The ending changes a bit (after the real ending and at the "THIS IS WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO DO BLAH BLAH BLAH" gayfest ending) depending on who you save. If you save Jean, Mystique kills Prof X and the Xmen disband. If you save Kurt, Dark Phoenix comes back and (if I remember right) destorys the universe.

I love the replay value on this game. Im at Asgard and in the middle of doing one of hte first missions and my game save is clocked in at about 20 hours. Thats pretty good since the reviews said this game was 25 hours long. Mind you, Ive been doing some backtracking to get stuff Ive missed and Ive been trying to get gold on several of the training missions I've unlocked

I found out that you can redistribute the skills and I think that makes up for the levelling being on auto. You can change your moves and attacks based on the situation and it really comes in handy, especially when doing the training sessions

I also just got Panther and I think he's probably the best melee fighter in the game, after Wolverine. His attacks are so fast and do alot of damage. Plus his pounce looks so cool. His inivisibilty boost is really helpful.

Anyone have any hints on how to level up Spidey. He was cool in teh beginning but doesnt seem to pull his weight much in later levels. His attacks just dont seem that impressive. He's one of my favorites and he's the weakest one on my team. On a sidenote, I just unlocked the Iron Spider costume and that looks amazing. Love playing as him with it on. It would have been cool if he had the extensions and could use those for attacks

I just installed the game on my PC, damn it looks great. My PC isn't the most powerful, so I'm running the game on low settings and without any sort of light or shadow shader. Nor any other fancy gimmick that could make the game look better. And it still looks way better than the PS2 version.

I couldn't wait to change Thor's costume to the classic version and lose the Hulk Hogan look in game play. Too bad you can't change that Ultimate look on the menu graphics. It hurts my eyes.

I'm 0 for 1 trying to beat Ymir that huge frost giant on the Asgard level. I'm going back for more later...

I only play with Thor's Ultimate look. His classic cape gets in my way and I've never really cared for it.

I found out that you can redistribute the skills and I think that makes up for the levelling being on auto. You can change your moves and attacks based on the situation and it really comes in handy, especially when doing the training sessions

Levelling up Spidey isn't difficult for me. One thing I try to do is update his stats. Not just his moves, but also his defense, melee reflect, and web damage. I also try to make sure he takes out as many enemies as he can. While I have Cap, Daredevil, and Iron Man using ranged attacks against large groups of enemies, I usually have Spidey jump into the crowd and start throwing punches. I think he takes out more people than anyone else in my group. Also, if you still can't seem to level him up fast enough, maybe you should let him pick up any upgrades you find lying on the ground (strike, focus, etc.).

yeah Torch is pretty much a Sunfire clone and Im not complaining as he was easily one of my favorites from XML2

The thing does like 60 per secondary tap. Talk about imbalanced, holy ****.

Actually, probably 3 times at max, like me. I'm bored to death of the game, but I got nothing better to play so I just keep messing around, finding rediculous combos.

Mr. Fantastic with his boost maxed does +70% chance to crit. Add that to one of his suits that adds 15%chance (I think) and an item that adds 10% chance, and just run around using his radial, you'll do around 400dmg + stun.

Use Deadpools Boost (the one that adds like 30melee damage to allies) and SS's Power Surge combined with an item that adds +10lightning melee damage. The secondary damage does around 55-65dmg per hit, depending on your strike.

Use the same boost on DP and use his Radial button combined with his outfit that gives + health regen and you can just stand there and tank anything in the game without getting scratched.

I could go on, but eh.

Yesterday afternoon I finally unlocked Ghost Rider. I chose Nightcrawler to die and had a terrible time beating Mephisto. It took about 5 tries.

Pretty good actually. Almost exactly the same as the console versions if you have a game-pad.

Spider-Woman is a cheap, over-powered, sexy b***h. Her venom blast takes out most enemies in one hit, plus this game allows you to use powers while flying. Whenever I'm playing as Spider-Man or Daredevil, and the battle isn't going my way, I switch to J. Drew, take to the air, and f***ing finish it.

Or I switch to Dr. Strange and black magic their asses.

Not to spoil anything, but the battle before Dr. Doom was harder to me then the actual Dr. Doom battle. In the fight before the boss battle three (Thor, Iron Man, and Thing) out of my four guys died leaving Spider-Man by himself against Dr. Doom. In my case, Spider-Man pwned Dr. Doom all by himself. :oldrazz:

Hawkeye, Captain Marvel, and Black Widow are all awesome...and Ronin is better then I thought she would be. She has a cool move where she randomly copies allies attacks, which makes sense for her.
