Be nice now, I'm new and I'm a girl. :) I've been a huge fan of Birds of Prey for about a year, and became really fond of her. The thing is, I haven't been able to pick up the latest issues of the series where it takes part of the new event one year later. Anyone care to fill me in on what's changed about her?

Thanks alot....http://superherohype.com/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif

Isnt the point of OYL that we dont know and we will slowly be filled in on certain matters (such as whats going on with Canary). I dont know, I could be wrong.

edit- I read this wrong and thought you were asking about the specifics(as in how she got there), but as far as I know she seems to be in an asian country of some kind for what looks to be very violent and dangerous training of some sort.

Canary is going through vigorous training somewhere around the world and is no longer a field operative for the BOP as of OYL. Lady Shiva took her place in the mean time, and who now goes by the name Jade Canary. If Dinah doesn't rejoin the Birds after her training has come to an end, then you can see her as member of the reformed JLA in the new series out this summer.

Black Canary has quit the team (at least for now) and is in some jungle getting some ruthless training. Lady Shiva has taken her place on the team because she owed Black Canary for some reason not yet revealed. Also, there is another new member on the team that's yet to be revealed.

Are you talking about the girl in the Blackhawk get-up? I was wondering about her. Its been awhile since i read BOP but decided to jump on all the titles since OYL seems like a fresh start, and i figured i was just out of the loop about that character.

no, Lady Blackhawk joined the team before the OYL jump after War Games when the clocktower was destroyed.

the one I'm talking about hasn't had her identity revealed (the invisible-ish woman at the end of the arc) she's also on the cover of the next issue

Please don't bring back that painful memory.

I hope they let her be out of it for good. Each writer thinks thay can make it work..make is stick..bring back the good ol' Ollie 'n Dinah team and each time it fails either from the writers not wanting to coordinate or share characters.

I wish they'd look back and just give it up. :down

Make her single or in a constant relationship with someone steady...

The Question
04-13-2006, 02:53 PM
While I love the whole Ollie/Dinah thing, I do like that Ollie's actually realized that he's a jackass and Dinah's better off without him. Shows him growing as a person.

Not a good match. Huntress is too crazy. She needs a person who's equally ****ed up but in a different way to understand her. If you're going for a lesbian relationship, Wonder Woman would be a better fit for Dinah.

TheCorpulent1

Opposites attract.

The Question

Not always. Dinah and Huntress just isn't a good fit. They kind of hate each other anyway.

TheCorpulent1
04-13-2006, 10:48 PM
Not anymore. It's been pretty well established that they're good friends now. Huntress and Oracle had issues, but even they've reconciled now.

The Question
04-13-2006, 10:53 PM
Oh. Okay. I really need to catch up on Birds of Prey. Anyway, if you were going to pair Dinah with another woman, I think Wonder Woman would be a better fit. And if you were going to pair Huntress with another woman, Catwoman would be a better fit, she being rather ****ed up herself.

Canary won't be the new Batwoman, I don't like that idea at all. It's either Renee Montoya under the mask or even Bette Kane like we saw her in "Titans Tomorrow." Although, there's speculation that she might really be Cassandra Cain.

Check that, the only TWO things I'd like to happen are for BC to be back with the others AND for Shiva to stop calling herself "the Jade Canary." That's such a pathetic name. As ive said before, I dont know. It feels different. I think most of the OYL titles for me were homeruns and this one seemed to fall flat. Only Nightwing doesn't feel the same to me, but that's mainly do to the fact of how he's being written during OYL. I mean, before it all started they left us with him expressing his love again for Barbara then proposing to her with her excepting. Next thing you know he's in bed with another woman who looks almost identical to her, and suddenly all of it is thrown away without an explanation as to why it didn't work out. Although, two heroes are going to get married during 52. So maybe it will be Dick and Barbara, and that's when we probably find out what went wrong? If it is indeed them two, of course.

Exactly. Atleast there and when he had them in his second suit, we saw his name had some sort of meaning.

His current look or his way of moving around certain areas doesn't bother me either, I just think adding the wings would add a little more to his name.

TheCorpulent1
04-23-2006, 12:21 AM
I didn't think his having wings made his name anymore meaningful. It is and always has been about paying homage to the Kryptonian hero. Adding wings would just look kind of cool. I'd prefer if they were like the wings he had on his costume in Teen Titans #33 rather than TAS Nightwing's arm-flaps, too.

Well, Bruce Johns made it seem that way in issue #118. As when he faced one of the Pierce brothers, he's being held by the neck and right before being dropped he's asked, "Where are the wings?" Either version of the wings would make me satisfied if ever the decision of putting them is brought up.
