Im sorry, but the yellow bat logo sort of ruins the whole stealth thing in a dark room. Not to mention it screams target.
The Yellow Bat logo is clearly explained on Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. Noob.

That way we get Bat-mobiles, Bat-cycles, Bat-computers, Bat-caves, Bat-this and Bat-that...fabric suit, big pouched belt, All the works...it would be sic.

I mean that part of the reason why I read graphic novels in the first place is to be suprised, to read and see something I havenīt seen or read before, something unique. Sure, of course the actors and movement and stuff give a different life to the graphic novel, itīs cool, but Iīm just not particularly crazy about knowing every line and every plot point before I see it. I guess Iīd feel the same about a new Hamlet adaptation or something like that.

I understand the feeling, but you can't have the same expectations for a movie as you do with a comic. Yes, it'd be nice to look at something and not know every detail, but once you cross media platforms, I think that's an exception.
Now if we were talking movies being too similar to other movies *cough*SR*cough*, then yes, I totally agree.

I think that even when you cross the same material from a media to another, thereīs nothing wrong with adding some of your own input and adding some freshness to it, even if you still follow closely the core elements of the material.

i see what people mean now
It comes from knowing batman's so far beyond the fat thugs he fights that shooting him would be a miracle.
But who knows... we don't know all the details yet. maybe he falls into some lava pit and afterwards needs this suit to help him breathe.

For the record, this here would be my dream Batsuit.
Yes, its dark blue. Imagine if they did EVERYTHING exactly the same in Begins, except the suit was this. Would it really have taken you out of the movie too much?
People say it would never work on screen. That a bat is not blue, etc.
But is a spider red? No, and Spidey worked. You may say his movies are camp, thats why. Well, by this logic, why did everyone universally applaude Iron Mans costume? Red and yellow? Please! In a "real world" situation, they probaly should have made him gun metal grey. But they didnt. And its great.
Going blue is the last word on finally getting a bat film right, visually.
And I'm 100% behind what Nolans doing and think it's great.
But why all this denial that batman is blue? If they made that kind of change with any other hero there would be blood in the streets.
Maybe its because when I was 12 and the biggest Bat fan ever and B89 came out I hated it and it didnt make an impression on me. I'm still untainted.
Or something.
All I'm saying is, blue could work. All you have to do is keep everything the same...just make him dark blue and grey.

Yes. Because Batman is supposed to be dark and intimidating - a scary creature of the night. Gray and blue doesn't cut it, and that manip you posted immediately reminds me of Adam West - a harder-edged Adam West costume, to be sure, but it still reminds me of it.

Don't be absurd. You could equally argue that the toy proves that black looks bad on the Batman suit. Both colours looks terrible because they are interspersed in a seemingly haphazard fashion.
The toy isn't all that bad- it just needs to be recoloured.

Complete balls. The problem with the damn thing is the horrible patterning and colour contrast. Without the black it would look fine. Why does Batman have a push-up bra?
dont start. the female populace of the hype (whoevers left) might come after you. ;)
That was the first comment you made about the toy. You then spread your fire to target the colour grey as well. When it was pointed out how absurd your position was, you attempted to style yourself as the defender of what you had just attempted to mock and scorn.
Pathetic.
and you got riled up on that? geezus :whatever: geta grip Reg. some would love the Blue. some loves the Black. we've been posting proof of why one shade/ color wont work in real life. i didnt say "blue will never work". but now we see have a shade of blue in a real life action figure and we can see the results.
and talk about mistakened assumptions. you do know i'm a Black/GreyBlack supporter right? saying that i'm targeting the grey supporters mean i'm targeting myself. duh!

Dude!!!! Put the pipe DOWN!!!!! I swear you will stop seeing blue Batman chasing you in your nightmares. You will come to accept the Dark Knight that is the black. Even Frank Miller's Dark Knight was in black. Hell when I spoke to Norm Breyfogle back in his MuddPack tour even he said he prefered Batman dressed in black.
It's okay to like a dusky hued caped crusader. There will be no killer mutant clowns to eat your face if you do.

You decided to reopen it with a completely false and ill-considered attack on any application of grey or blue, using a horrible pattern as a model.
You might as well have said that the fact that Hitler wore brown shows that brown is an evil colour.
Chill, reg. Don't invoke Hitler. You automatically lose the argument.

Wow, this figure is bad.
WHY WHY WHY doesn't DC direct do the sculpts!!!
I have amazing DC figures from gotham by gaslight, the dark knight returns etc, and they are beautiful works of art. Batman movie figures always look pretty awful but begins are worse than the 89 batman imho.:ninja:
With this being said, i do not understand the look of the suit other than its a motorcycle suit. The small symbol on the chest gets me all kind of angry:cmad:
On first look my friends all went COOL!!!!(they are a misxture of film, comics and industry geeks like myself) But after a bit of the hype of a picture being released faded away, everyone pretty much think the suit is almost silly.
I'm sooo damn excited for this film, even for ledgers sick Joker(and my collegues who are working closer to the film are telling me the Joker goes thru transitions throughout the film----nothing really new i know), and eckhart's Dent.
The suit just brings my excitement down a peg( but im still 9/10 on the excitement chart:hyper: )

although from what i can recall of other franchises (like the LOTR line) the prototypes usually look the best, the figures just get crappier as they mass produce it.

Here's a better look of the suit:
http://wizarduniverse.com/_images_/004902/BatmanToy1.jpgI know it's just a toy, but this still isn't helping me like the new suit. Really starting to look like Iron-Bat. I loved the BB suit and I do agree he needs more neck flexibility but this might take me some getting used to.

To me it helps a lot, those blue areas are fabric, if the measures are close to right this is indeed a more loosen suit with less rubber and more freedom of movement, while still protecting.

I was hoping a toy might give us a better idea of the cape attachment.
Sadly, this toy doesn't give a good indication of anything.
I believe this may be a repaint. The Begins figures had such repaints--for example, there was on figure that was black in grey, though the normal one was black. I suspect this particular repaint will be packaged with the bike.
The figure is not the best indicator (since some details are plainly different than the picture), but we can draw some conclusions. One: the cape attachment is more traditional, like I've been speculating. If it is connected on the suit in the same place is it on this figure, perhaps we will see the cloak we've been wanting to see for a long time. The obvious mesh on the costume makes me think the inclusion of the mesh is important in the film, rather than just an obscure costume detail. Also, the neck is interesting. I'm curious to see if the neck is actually designed like it is there. The armour here makes me confident in that my theory about Batman cannibalizing the damaged Begins suit to make the armour plates on this one.
Finally, the V-shaped chest plate makes me worry. It looks bad on this figure. On the official pic one can't really tell what it looks like, and since this figure isn't the best indicator I really want to see a straight-on pic of the suit so I can decide what I think of this.
Mr.Clay
06-20-2007, 06:21 PM
Or maybe Batman just takes the cape off?
Maybe, but we know that the costume does do something in conjunction with the cape. The cape has no clasps, and the Batpod has no covering over the back tire, which is just a tiny bit(read extremely) dangerous when riding wearing a cape.
I'll put money on the cape sucking into the costume right before he drives off

Except for the fact that'd make absolutely no sense. I mean, to have an entire cape tucked back there, he'd look like a hunchback.

Then where did his cape go? If he has the ability to put on that whole suit in mere moments and wear a utitlity belt that easily has at least 40 pounds of equipment in it, then a cape that either folds up or sucks into the back of his suit by itself isn't out of the question.
