Portman would also be great, but I'd prefer her for The Phantasm. Yeah, I know that character has virtually no chance of ever appearing in the films, but if by some occurence Nolan and Goyer decide to have the character in one of them, either Portman or Rachel McAdams should play her.

Portman would make for a great Catwoman. She is a great actress, she has a very eligant, socialite look to her. She is a very strong woman and can play very strong roles. She is every bit as good a choice as Jolie or Beckinsale and has as much, if not more talent then either actress.

I'm all in favour of Natalie Portman for Selina Kyle.

For one she would be totally different to the typical casting, Second i think it would add the bit of a dangerous element with her looks espically if she still has her short hair.

However will she get the role Probably not, however even that Warner used her in V, i'm pretty sure they are really keen on getting her in a bigger comic role since she was rumored in Superman and Batman so somebody is pushing for her to be in the mix.

Personally she is my new choice.

I know alot of people want Angelina Jolie and she would be a great choice as well, but it seems she is rumored in everyother way in Sin City 2 and i think she will be in that movie personally.

Jolie and Beckinsale are the obvious choices if you want to do traditional Selina. Personally? I've never liked traditional Selina all that much. She's too much of a pun. That's not to say I like CINO or BR Catwoman any better, because I don't. I do, however think that Portman is just weird enough of a choice to make it awesome.

Selina is 4-5 years younger than Bruce, whom was 25/26 in Year One. Portman is 24, meaning shes actually older than the character when she was first introduced in the current continuity. According to the script at the end of Begins Bruce is most likely 29, and if this takes place say a year later(this has been rumored for the timeline), then Bruce will be 30.

If Catwoman is 4-5 years younger than Bruce/Bats whos 30, then how is it a stretch for the 24-year-old Portman who may be 25 by the time filming would start(not sure) to play a character who is maybe a year or two older than her, considering her wonderful acting ability and the great direction of Nolan?

I say they cast the best actress for the role: black, white, or anything else human. For example, Maggie Q (M:I:III) and Thandie Newton (Crash) would both be excellent for the role. So would Portman, and so would Scarlett Johanssen. Catwoman's race isn't important enough to the character to fret over.
