Even John was ask what his "real name" is and the whole "risen like a phoenix"-talk is perfect for the oxfordenglish speaking movie Magneto!
Everyone in this movie has a codename and Phoenix is just perfect for a reborn Jean.

But if they don't call her Phoenix, I think we will also don't see the Phoenix-Effect. And that would be really really terrible...

We know from one of the TV spots that she doesn't simply walk on shore or get found lying on the shore by Cyclops. The TV spot shows the effect of her on the water with Cyclops standing on shore looking out. My guess is that she shoots straight up out of the water in full Phoenix Flame, then floats over to Cyclops onshore. Lord, I hope so...

I'm sure they will. Because Beast was on the original team, I think Storm or Xavier will refer to him as such without having to explain his name. Angel as well, I'm sure he won't have a "What should I call myself" scene, I think it'll be a pretty obvious connection as to why people call him that

I agree. Even if she didn't really "die" I think Magneto would capitalize on the perception that she did. So that's my pet theory on how Magneto uses Jean (other than the whole crazy powerful ****** batting for my team thing).

Actually most of the promo material refers to her as Jean Grey, thats who she's billed as on the cast too. I'm hoping for some reference to the Phoenix, but it wont be too overt, I'm pretty sure of that.
