Well I remember in the early 2000's Christian was mentioned for every major franchise or would be franchise role on the internet. Besides Batman some saw him as Two-Face and given his intensity he could play a good Joker too. But I remember some people had him as a fourth choice for Superman, some for a proposed Robin Hood franchise and even the new James Bond (which I could see). He has that versatility so its not suprising at all.

It's funny that you say that. I have been saying that exact same thing since I saw Batman and American Psycho. I actually mentioned it in a thread a couple months back. Obviously we all want him as Batman, but he has the talent to pull off Joker and TwoFace.

He is perfect for Batman but I agree that he could be a great Two-Face or even The Joker. He's a very talented artist, he would be great in several different roles, bad or good guys.

I could see him playing the Count of Monte Cristo (one of my favorite books)! Of course, that should really be a French movie (not that people seem to care where movies take place these days... the whole world is America), however, I'm sure Bale could learn French and speak it fluently. ;)

As for the thread starter's thoughts, yes, I could see Bale as Two-Face. He'd pull off both the nice, public D.A., and the tormented, psychotic side very well. As for the Joker, I'm not so sure. I haven't seen a movie with him where there was some scene where he went completely nuts in a Joker-ish way (a scene that almost came close was the one where he called his lawyer in American Psycho). However, he seems to have enough talent to pull just about anything off well... Still, he doesn't really look like the Joker... so I think... no.

I agree that Bale has range as an actor, but I feel he is far too handsome looking to play someone like the Joker. I know that with prosthetics and make-up he might look different enough to resemble the role, but I'd have more faith in him playing Harrvey Dent/Two Face, had he not chosen to be Batman.

Watch 'American Psycho' to see how Bale can do the 'repressed-rage under a civil-facade', thing.
