Interesting--see what they did with the gray suit? The neckline is even HIGHER. you immediately compare and contrast between the gray and the classic--suddenly the classic's neckline doesn't seem so constricting.

I'm not making EXCUSES for the neckline, I'm just saying this is probably a sly little way to make people watching the movie completely accept the new suit.

In fact I'd be curious to see the tapes of other guys who auditioned for Ratner/McG movie, I'm sure you could find some close calls. But as far as Routh vs. Cage/Hartnett/Caviezel/whoever was rumored to play Superman goes, Routh wins by far. An unknown was the way to go in this case.

don't get me wrong I like the grey suit its just that we should be gettign more pics of supes in the regular supes suit. if someone buyed that film cells and posted a big version scan of the pics i nthe corners.

The film cells dont like like real ones. Well i know the pictures are real but i meant it does not ressemble what a real film cell looks like. Usually its transparent , very much so, and more brown in color. Maybe these are just photoshoped so we can tell what the film cell are once placing an order. Just food for though...

I think its just an image with the film strip pattern on the sides... The only real film strip collectables I have seen are a special film (not as dark or brown as normal film) and the case has a light inside it so the film lights up...

Dont know if thats the deal with these ones or not.

Yes, but some of these "cells" are not from the final film, just the digitally shot plates. For example, the background of the space suit shot was digitally enhanced for the ShoWest trailer, here it shows just the original stage props.

I still think Routh looks too young in some scenes and HES NOT THAT YOUNG!!!! He doesnt look that young when he`s outside the costume but in some pics he kinda gets at least 5 years younger and thats not good...!!Some pics i really doubt him...I think the best way to settle this would be if we see a ****ing footage of him in action...because i seriously think that pics dont do him justice and this is so WEIRD!!!

High neckline too. The SR suit makes sense given it was designed by Jor-El, it fits the Kryptonian style fashion.

(Ps looking at Brando's younger pics when he was Routh's age, Im seeing alot of facial similarites. They could actually pass as real father and son.)

I disagree on thinking Cage would have pull off. In acting wise, yes. But in look, no. He has sleepy eyes look & not that handsome. Oh yeah, he's quite balding too. I don't want Supes to have fake looking hair. :p If Cage was more handsome, have naturally full hair, & eyes are normal looking, he would work. But with him being neither, I wouldn't want him in that & I'm glad it not happening.

Kane
04-16-2006, 05:31 AM

The idea of Superman disguising himself as Clark Kent has always been a stretch..but it works. As long as the actor doesn't have any unique facial features, they should be fine. I'm not saying that Reeve or Routh are generic looking, but they don't stand out, but still maintain the good-looking attributes of Superman.

Nick Cage's face is too distict. As a character actor (in his career), it's good but as Superman/Clark it's bad. You can always tell it's him, be it with glasses or without.

Hey gang, you may want to read this item posted by Steve Younis of the Superman Homepage (http://www.supermanhomepage.com):

April 16, 2006: “Superman Returns” Movie Film Stills

I was right. MovieGoods.com illegally posted those film stills collections and had Warner Bros. tell them to remove them. We've been asked to pull them down too. I'm posting this notice so everyone knows exactly what the situation is and I don't get accused of censorship of any kind.

Bummer. :( Those were some really good photos, too.
