Captain America looks so bad-ass right there....Spidey would loook really cool is he wasn't wearing Iron Man's pajamas again.
Seriously though, costume aside, it's a cool image. I might even buy it if it weren't written by JMS.

First off, since he's wearing his color scheme shouldn't this be Green Goblin 2211?
But anyway, this cover makes it clear why Marvel needs to stop redesigning Spidey and his foes- because these look ridiculous.
And another thing with the Ironspidey suit. The orginal could generate a number of moods. It could create a feeling of mystery, humor and straight-up coolness. Not this clunker. It always looks the same, and that's silly.
Dangerous
04-19-2006, 11:46 AM
Well I guess different artists could draw it differently, make the eyes narrower sometimes, alter the spider? designs on his chest and back.
But I would not really care if they did since it is the wrost Spidey costume everTM.

First off, since he's wearing his color scheme shouldn't this be Green Goblin 2211?
As I understand it, there's supposed to be some motif from 2099 that the people of the future get details mixed up or confused.
I'm just really pumped to see them again. They had the one crossover years ago, and that was it! But it was a damn fine book, even if the costumes are wonky.
The thing that really surprises me which I haven't seen brought up to much is the side Spidey is at least starting out on for Civil War. He's remaining loyal to Iron Man... so? Identity? Revealed?

Well, there was Spider-Man 2099. The guy was totaly unrelated to Peter and was a genius who was trying to make super-agents for private companies. One of his inspiration was Spider-Man so he intended to use specific spider genes to give a person spider-powers. An accident happened and he was the one to receive them. Again, his powers weren't like Peter's. he had talons on his fingers and toes for wall crawling and was the first Spider-Man to have organic webbing.
Anyway there was a one-shot story where the two Spider-Men meet. Eventualy, they are taken to the year 2211 were they face the Hobgoblin of that time (the alien/power ranger lovechild of the cover). They are helped by the Spider-Man of that time (the guy Iron Spidey his holding). That guy no one knows anything about, since he only appeared for a couple of panels. All that is known is what he looks like and that he has "guided webbing" whatever that is.

Well it was more sabotaged than gone wrong but still, pretty interesting series (the first few arcs at least) you should look it up.
But I agree, bringing THAT Hobgoblin into the picture is just wrong. Unless he's used to fix the whole mystic-totem-shatra-stingers crap 'cause hey, he's got retcon bombs (I'm not joking, that's what he calls them).

The story is almost sounding too good. Wouldn't be shocked if Marvel messed it up....heh...I'm actually expecting something crappy to have to Spider-man. Hopefully I'm wrong and he'll be wearing his old red and blue tights at the end again
USM sounds freaking awesome as usual. Can't wait.
Civil War Front Line also sounds pretty damn good.
