I attempted to do so in Borders one night whilst the gf was having some discussion with her other yuppie friends, and it's actually pretty engaging. The makeup work is definitely going to be pretty much close to Sin City style if they follow it panel for panel.

It's not going for the same direct page to screen visual adaptation that Sin City brought us. But the production diaries look well enough, and the widescreen graphic novel of it kicks ass.

I'll be picking it up soon, like Sin City, it will be republished shortly before the movies released.

I haven't. This is my first time in the 300 forum and to be honest, I don't know what the hell the 300 is.:(

Well, it was weird, but what do you expect, it was a freaking Frank Miller historical graphic novel. The whole idea of it is bizarre. :o

It's vaguely based on the battle of Thermopylae: and ancient battle where (legend has it) 300 Spartan soldiers fought 1 million Persian soldiers, trying to hold them off long enough so the rest of Greece could have enough time to gather an army large enough to beat the Persians.

The Spartans fought brutally killing thousands of the Persians. All of the Spartans died though.

It's a pretty good graphic novel by Frank Miller that focuses more on teh legend of the battle than the historical accuracies. I highly reccomend you to purchase it, or just go read it at Border's for free.
