Help with poses etc...

I'm getting a whole bunch of new figures.. and I'm gunna have limited space So.. I was wanting some help with different poses etc. so the figures dont look crappy and tacky on my wall/shelf. I'm gunna post some pictures of stuff that have half done/not done at all when I get back from work tonight.

i really doubt it. mystique, captain america series 1, sometimes series 4 punisher, urban legends daredevil, series 3 thor, and a few others are the hardest to stand in my case. even galactus likes to fall over.

Now keep in mind this is by far not all of them... I had to put away alot of my Spider-man 2 movie figures just because they didnt really go with the style of the other figures.. I only kept spidey ock and Green goblin.. I still have a bunch more coming in this week from rough and ebay things.. Any suggestion???

OK well here is what i think should be fixed if you are looking for new poses
venom-ive never read a single comic, but that figure always looked cooler to me if he had his legs bent kinda like spiderman when he was swinging

iron fist-again, never read a comic, but he looks cooler in a crouching kung fu pose

carnage-does he even have webbing?

movie goblin-make him crouching on his glider, looks cooler

storm-it looks alot better if you put one foot on one of the outside pegs of the storm, and one foot on the lower inside peg of the storm

youve got an odd choice or two on your wall, and if anybody should be on a wall/in flight, it should be human torch, its tough to get a good natural pose with his base, but it looks good when you figure it out

id put nightcrawler in more of a crouching spiderman type pose

id put bishop in a ready to fight stance with his guns drawn

id put magneto on a flight stand with one hand extended

and if you are gonna be crunched for space, take the green goblin and hobgoblin and use fishing string to hang them from the ceiling of a shelf to look like they are in flight, i noticed you had tacks on the shelf, might as well use them

kudos on the ghost rider pose, it looks really cool

and dr doom looks silly,id make one arm at his side and one up in the air

and battle ravaged spidey would look cooler laying down in from of rhino or lizard, or fighting them

some easy tips for posing*

-Dynamic, the more pushed pose your fig is in.. the more spectacular it will be

-Comics, refer to comic pics for classic dynamic poses

-Emotion, the body has its own language, use it

-Life, pay attention to human anatomy and poses.. and dont put your figs in poses that no human could do

-Detail, if a leg is twisten the wrong way... a head tilted another... toes pointing up when there standing flat footed, etc.... you must pay attention to detail, these figs are HIGHLY articulate.. use it.


if you need any more help, refer to my link... theres plenty of pictures where you can get some ideas

yeah spideyboy :P i was looking at your pics a few days ago.. theyre friggin awesome. Big thing is I dont have alot of time to fiddle with them.. Tommorow im gunna try and work on them after I finish the yardwork. I got a cool collage of the X-men figures going. Right now I'm really waiting for all of the figures to come in and then I'm gunna decide what to do there. like a spidey collage a spidey rogues collage an avengers collage F4 collage ETC.. I'm gunna go to the hardware store tommorow and get some invisible wire and tacks etc...

My Suggestion to SsM. When dealing with limited wall space...don't space the figs. As you get more and more you will need more room. Fill those gaps.

Edit: sometime Once I get all of the figs in.. I will start posing them......... but I think as of now.. The only fig I really Posed is the spiderman figure from the original SMC line...

don't sweat it. mine are in the same boat. i havent posed them as well i want too cause i just don't have the right display places for them. i have a nice bookcase at home that i'll be putting my figs on once i move back. and i used build-a-shelves (or stack-a-shelves) at my appartment to have light furniture to display them on. I'll make better use of their articulation when i get a room i can mess up on my own. my dad is brutal when it comes to nails and holes in the walls at home, so i'll have to wait till i get my house in a few years.

and spideyboy... The main reason I havent posed them.. Is because I get really pissed off really easy when I cant do something that seems so simple to do.. like when I was stringing up Magneto.. Hes only half done.. Because I bought the wrong kindof fishing wire and I gotpissed off when I realized it and just left it :x... When they fall down after I pose them.. I get pissed off.. I'm an angry person :/ and I like to punch stuff.. So i try not to get pissed off over stupid stuff

but you bring that issue up a lot. maybe you should see someone about it. obviously it's affecting your life negatively. and just so you know, a good friend of mine died my first year of college and it screwed with me for awhile and i worried about everyone dying for a few months like other friends, parents etc. but you have to think of it this way, you might as well enjoy the time you have with all your family and friends while you have it. worrying about won't do any good. it only harms you. So relax man. enjoy the time you have. i'm sure there was a time when you didn't worry about death as much and i'm sure you enjoyed your life at least a little better before you had death to worry about all the time.

Ok.. I really need to figure out what I'm going to do with My spider-man Rogues figures.... The whole collage AVENGERS ASSEMBLE scene I think works for my avengers figures... But it just doesnt with the SPidey villains..... I need action scenes.. I got the Venom SHT sent me and the Battle damaged spidey from SMC series 2? and I put spidey's head in venom's hands.... But I need some ideas :P

Your poses are actually good for the most part. Be sure to use that wall space and any extra flying stands.
My only suggestions are to make Apocolypse stand upright (he's supposed to be imposing) and to do something else with Thing. In that pose, with that expression, he just looks... bored. Is there a busted wall you could make him walk through?

I've got a couple busted wall bases.... and as for apocolypse.. His leg joints are too loose. I have to send him to somebody to get it fixed.. or learn how to fix the loose joints myself.. He doesnt stand up straight. his legs give out :(

The only scene I really like is the scene of the X-men Vs the X-villains :P

egh.. i wouldnt say good, but there definately a start, alot better then alot of the peeps ive seen on the board. ( i hope im not sounding harsh SsM ) I just think you (SsM) need to look at more comic covers and actual anatomy and how the body moves and looks natural.

I noticed nearly all but one or 2 of your spideys are pretty much in the same pose... one hand back and another one getting ready to web shoot. Spidey's only pose isnt him about to shoot a web...

and alot of your figs who should be standing proud or in an action scene kinda look like there limp and tired. you def have a good start though, keep working on it, though it does take time

Another thing is.. I dont want to use string :( I would use invisible fishing wire But I just dont have the patience. as for the samepose for spidey.. Yeah.. They all do :P pretty much

btw.. EVERYONE says use the flying stands.. Yet hardly any of the figures are able to use them.. unless you drill a hole into their backs which I dont like :/

i dont care for most of the flying stants.. i think they only look good for actual flyers... i think it looks dumb when there used for "jumping" or "falling"

you can also use strings to tie a flyer to a stand if they dont have the whole

and bud fix the joints.. lol u must have a hell of alot of loosed joing figs... i mean i dont see how that many figs could have loose legs. its real easy to do.. just put super glue in the joint and keep moving the joint so it doesnt stick...

my BAF Apocy took a nose dive off my desk.. and his leg joint broke off.. i had to glue him in a perminant leg position.. wich i dont mind.. i like the pose hes in.

well alot of them are very very loose.. apocolypse especially.. he has fallen off my shelf a couple of times... and the shelf is about 4 5 feet off the ground on to a ceramic tile floor.. So that's why hes so loose. the others come out of the box really loose
