Would be cool to see some of these names make it into the film. Jon Voight, Michael Clarke Duncan, and John Turturro would be great.

Cus if he isn;t I just no he will do one of his trademark bad jokes in the movie.:( Some news for this movie makes me really happy but then news like this hits and I get sad.

As long as Bernie Mac avoids the stale "Mutha gawd day-yum honkey mofo kracka azz kracka honkey whitey white bred kracka sheeeeit kracka foo'!" garbage, then I won't mind his presence.
Too much.
I'm not terribly disappointed with any of the other cast selections, though.
Most of these characters seem to be Military related - so I hope they wont be hamming it up too much...

I just googled her too and i recognised her from two and half men, she was that 16 year old that they both thought was hot but was too young to even talk to her lol.
Hmmm interesting casting, im not sure what to make of some of the choices, i.e bernie mac, but as most of the characters are military based im hopin it wont be as corny as its makin out to be so far.
I honestly hope we dont have a thunderbirds like movie on our hands here.

^ I laughed at that too, but I am not thrilled by the cast at all.
Bernie Mac is a comedian, he doesn't belong in a movie like this ... UNLESS they are doing what they did to Thunderbirds. "Hey its a kids show ... lets make it kiddie!"
Where the F' was Micheal Bay when they selected the cast?

ughh. Dumb. Its machines changing to robots ... who are taller than buildings. Jets and crap changing and fighting. Not all of them at a campfire signing Kombayah and eating smores. But I bet they will make it cheesy. Hopefully, the visuals will be cool. But now I expect less from story and acting.
All I know is they are pissing on Bumblebee's grave and crapping on Skywarps rusty corpse.

All I know is they are pissing on Bumblebee's grave and crapping on Skywarps rusty corpse.I know one thing about the show is that we don't need humans to get the drama and emotion from. Spike did help the transformers but he didn't get in the way he didn't try fighting no. Prime wanted him out of the way he got out of the way.The transformers have alot of emotion and in the show they show it so plese Bay to screw up.:(

Wtf are you talking about? They post a list of human cast members, which this movie was ALWAYS going to have, and you act like they've already ruined the movie? If it's about Bernie Mac, have you forgotten he was in both Ocean's 11 and 12? He can be funny without being cheesy.

Here is more on the cast from IGN.com Bernie Mac will be the guy who sells Sam his car.
April 20, 2006 - IGN FilmForce has learned which actors are poised to join the previously announced Shia LaBeof in the cast of the DreamWorks-Paramount live-action feature film version of The Transformers. (LaBeof will star as "Sam," the unlikely teen hero of the movie.) IGN has confirmed through multiple sources that Oscar winner Jon Voight is in talks to reunite with his Pearl Harbor director, Michael Bay, as "Keller." A casting notice online describes Keller as the U.S. Secretary of State. Voight and LaBeof previously starred together in Holes.
Another Bay veteran, Armageddon's Michael Clarke Duncan, is closing in on the role of "Figueroa." This character is described in a casting notice posted at Sneak Peek TV as being "Dominican by way of the Louisiana Bayou. Chief Warrant officer in the Army. Spirited fellow who loves to sing. Close team member of Lennox."
And who is Lennox? Sources indicated that Vegas star Josh Duhamel has a lock on the role of the young military commander.
Bernie Mac is the frontrunner for the role of "Bobby Bolivia." A casting notice said Bolivia "could sell ice to an Eskimo. Tries to get Sam to buy a car. Your typical wheelin' dealin' used car salesman."
IGN has also learned that the following actors are being lined up for roles: Tyrese as "Epps"; John Turturro as "Simmons"; Rachael Taylor as "Maggie," previously described as a super-hot and super-smart codebreaker for the government; Megan Fox as "Mikaela," referred to in a casting notice as Sam's love interest; Travis Van Winkle as "Trent"; and John Robinson as "Miles."
There is still no word yet on who will be voicing the Autobots and the Decepticons

Bernie Mac in a transformer film? the ****?
Josh Duhamel is a solid actor, I'm actually really glad he got this major major big budget film... the dude is solid on Las Vegas and him, Voigt, and La Boeuf are the only ones who seem promising in the cast alongside eye candy Megan Fox... but the rest? Maybe John Tuturro if he acts like the annoying jack ass he did on The Quiz Show... he could be one of those sort of jack ass scientists like Paul Reiser did in Aliens

Why all the Bernie Mac hate? He's just playing a car salesman for god's sake. And all this "cracka whitey blah blah" you guys are saying about his act is silly too. Have you ever seen it? More than just one joke? I doubt it. You sound just as silly as those who think Chris Rock hates White people.
Anywho, I don't find that cast to be bad at all. Now if these people were announced as the VOICES OF THE ROBOTS then, and ONLY then would I see why everyone was pissed. If Bernie mac was Optimus Prime for example, I'd raise hell. But a car salesman? or in the cast of Voight, Duncan and others, Soldiers? Who gives a *****?

I'm not dismissing Mac just yet, as I think he's one of the few comedians who would really be watching it through our own eyes in the theatre, as whatever comments he's saying is more than likely what we'd be thinking if we were seeing Transformers in front of us battling. You know you'd be cursing a blue streak.

He's just gonna be the car salesman who sells Shia's character his car. That's all we know, that'll will probably be the extent of his character. Calm da **** down! And let's be real, a movie based on a cartoon (that's pretty much based on a toy line), can only be so "serious" Especially if they get the original voice actors, like Frank Welker. A third of the Transformers will be played up for laughs just off their voices alone. Who's gonna listen to Starscream and not chuckle?

KenK's kind of got a point. There's going to be a seriously strange tone to this movie if they don't get it just right.
Is Bay going to use "You've got the Touch" ?
Seems about his style...
Oh, and don't count on the original voice actors being used in this film.
No way it's gonna happen. It's just Bay's way of placating the fans for just a while longer, until we see footage and "forget all about it"...
You had stars in the original animated film (for certain characters), that's what's going to happen here. It will all be digitally manipulated anyway -- come on, Tom Hanks doing Optimus wouldn't be all that bad... ;)
Regardless, I'm sure we'll get a great action movie, I just wouldn't hold out any hope for any specific fan satisfaction, or even semi-serious tone.
You can even tell from Quint's report that Bay clearly saw this visit as a laborious "chore" rather than any kind of "promotion."
Still, how this guy even gets work after "The Island" is beyond me...
Ok, now I'm done. ;)

There's more than meets the eye with Megan Fox and Jon Voight! They're official now!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint (quint@aintitcool.com) here again, this time with the official announcement confirming the online rumors that circulated a few weeks ago about casting in TRANSFORMERS... at least some of them. When I brought Jon Voight up to Michael Bay during my sit-down the him, he wouldn't confirm or deny the rumor (http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=23105), but he did have a grin on his face that didn't dodge the question as well as his words did.
Now it's officially official. Joe Buck is in a TRANSFORMERS movie (http://www.variety.com/index.asp?layout=upsell_article&articleID=VR1117942429&categoryID=13&cs=1). If that don't beat all. (PS, he's playing a character, not voicing an Autobot or Decepticon... he's said he's playing the Secretary of State)
Also officially announced today is Megan Fox (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/film/brief_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002426611), some young thang that I have never seen act before... guess I missed out on CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN. She's really pretty, though. She's been cast as Shia LaBeouf's love interest. Get them animal crackers out!!

Transformers Cast Confirmed
You heard it here first!
by Stax
May 3, 2006 - IGN FilmForce first reported a few weeks ago that the cast of the live-action Transformers movie was shaping up to be quite an ensemble, with the likes of Oscar winner Jon Voight, Josh Duhamel, Bernie Mac and John Turturro leading the contenders to play the human roles in the film.
Variety has confirmed that Voight has been cast, and "Josh Duhamel, Bernie Mac, John Turturro, Megan Fox and John Robinson are expected to round out the cast. Travis Van Winkle and Shia LeBeouf have already been announced."
The trade adds that "many of the rumored names are not likely to end up in the film." Well, by Variety's own count 7 of the 10 names we mentioned (excluding Michael Clarke Duncan, Tyrese and Rachael Taylor) are now confirmed so that can hardly qualify as "many." That darn "new math" must be to blame.
The DreamWorks-Paramount project, which bears a $100+ million price tag, starts filming later this month under the direction of Michael Bay.
The Transformers is slated to open July 4, 2007.

I suspect that Bay will write realistic dialogue for the characters and not push the events into camp.. that would be too easy.. I think that by having some well known 'character' acters, but not all A-list headliners, they keep the budget down, but still have some recognizable names, and have the main draw be the Transformers, not "Bruce Willis/Tom Cruise/etc. vs. the Transformers"..

"They gave me the script and they had a guard wait until I read it," he joked. "This is top secret stuff. I've taken one look at the script and they're keeping it very hush hush. It's very impressive I will say," Voight said.
He did say however, "It's going to be live action and going to be mostly CGI stuff."

Date: May 11, 2006
By: Kellvin Chavez
Source: The Hollywood Reporter (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/film/brief_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002501745)
According to The Hollywood Reporter (http://www.latinoreview.com/news.php?id=556#), Rachael Taylor and Amaury Nolasco have been cast in DreamWorks' "Transformers" and Tyrese Gibson is in negotiations to join them.
Michael Bay is directing the live-action adaptation of the 1980s Hasbro toy line of giant robots that morph into cars, trucks, planes and ships. The trio join the already cast Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Jon Voight and Bernie Mac (http://www.latinoreview.com/news.php?id=556#).
Taylor will play Maggie Marconi, a codebreaker at a think tank. Nolasco and Gibson are Army officers. Angry Films' Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto and Lorenzo di Bonaventura are producing. Steven Spielberg is executive producing. Hasbro's Brian Goldner also is executive producing.

You see what Hollywood doesn't seem to get by now is that when you put celebs in a movie like Transformers, who themselves are soppose to be the main object of the flick, you take away focus from the title characters.
People, including die hard fans will be more worried about things like "....was Tyrese's acting ablities up to par?" "Was Bernie Mac the Bernie Mac we know, and if you love him, love? And was Shia annoying like he is in all his other films, etc, etc. I can see the reviews for this flick now. It'll be focused on the human actors performances and not the Transformers..which sucks.
