I think we should stop emailing the X Squad, poor guy is gonna have sore fingers responding to all the angry emails. IMO I think they will sort any problems out. Im just not looking forward to being tired on thursday

I'm sending my address in a couple minutes, if i don't get an extra ticket I'm selling it! Well, Pathe is where most of the screenings/premieres are so I'm not really dissapointed by that.

I watched both the previous films the other day as well. Do you think they're trying to find a cinema in London that has a midnight screening?
Trying to make out we'll see it first because we start watching the earlier films, but we'll really just be watching the same time as everyone else?
I doubt it will be the premier if they aren't even sure whats going on.
They clearly haven't given this much thought
Obviously. :down

I think I'll wait untill Monday, I can hardly believe there won't be a screening at a Pathe in the Hague.
I asked Utopolis Zoetermeer if they had a screening on Wednesday, they said:
Is nog niet bekend, probeert u het maandag na 1600 uur nog een keer.

Someone in another thread has just said that the UK Premier has been cancelled now, could this be why the X Squad are trying to find another place to screen it? Did we win Premier tickets in the UK?
Why are we in the dark like this, it's just not fair!
So, there will be no premiers at all around the world with the X-cast? Everything looks so uncertain around here. This doesn't look good. :down

union_jak
05-14-2006, 01:38 PM
That makes me think they've got rid of the overall points are concentrating on weekly points, which makes sense since the overall prize has been won already.
I'm not sure how I feel about that prize after all. I'll wait until my email comes on Monday, but if it's just going to be a screening last thing on the 24th and nothing else, it'd feel like a waste of time and money. If I'll be going on my own, I'll probably say no to it all. I'm not used to London, and don't like the idea of going all the way there alone, finding someplace to stay, finding the screening and walking around London at like 3am. It's going to cost a load of money, the only way I'll say yes instantly is if it's the cast premier, but it sounds like that was cancelled (but I hope just postponed).
grey_jeanie
05-14-2006, 01:45 PM
So, does the competition end when the movie comes out?
union_jak
05-14-2006, 01:50 PM
I think so. The blog competition ends on the 25th. I think it'll end then.
I think they could've started the whole thing earlier; they'd get early publicity and it would take more points to win the big prize.

It might be too late for me...already told them that if they can't sort it, I won't accept the prize.
They did say to me that they could only offer the 1 ticket and that was all, so I don't think they'll stretch to 2 in the UK.

Fancy a laugh? This was the mutant I made up for the evolve mission:
MUTANT NAME: Jet
POWERS: The ability to fly at supersonic speeds, can survive for a period of up to two hours without oxygen and has enhanced acrobatic skills. Apparently immune to changes in temperature; appearing unaffected by either extreme cold or heat.
HISTORY: Excelled in Gymnastics as a small child, and was entered into a National competition at the age of thirteen. Whilst flying to New York to compete, the plane was hit by an as yet unidentified magnetic force. (There is specualtion that this may have been the work of Magneto, but has not been proved). The right hand side of the plane was completely blown out, and I was sucked out along with the rest of the passengers. The only survivor of the accident, though it was a mystery as to how I had not only survived the fall, but had not drowned. I was taken to Hospital, and was visited by Professor Charles Xavier. He had heard of my miraculous survival and had used Cerebro to track me down. This was when I discovered that I was a mutant. I returned with Professor X to his mansion, where I had to undergo tests to discover what my capabilities were. It is now clear that my talent for Gymnastics was purely due to my mutation. I was codenamed Jet due to my powers and the fact that they completely evolved whilst on a plane.
SIDE: The X-Men. I firmly believe that every mutant has the right to choose as to whether or not they are "cured", but I do not believe it should be forced upon them. I oppose the Brotherhood as they pose a threat to humans and mutants with their seemingly endless taste for violence.
COSTUME: White catsuit with yellow and black stripes in honour of the passengers that lost their lives aboard the ill-fated plane. (The plane was a Monarch, white with black and yellow stripes) Black "M" on the right hip. White gloves and high heeled boots. The costume was designed with wind resistance in mind, therefore, it fits like a second skin. The yellow and black stripes run parallel to eachother from shoulder to ankle. Black belt.

The easiest thing for the X Squad to do following all these complaints would be to forget about the prize of 1 preview ticket at one particular screening, and just send out 2 normal tickets for our local cinema.
I doubt I'll get anything now, I've already told them that I don't want the prize, but it would have been nice to have got something from winning.

I've been in contact with who I think are the actual promoters, and not the X Squad Commander. It's because they thought I didn't want to go, anyway, they won't be sending me tickets to the Hotel screening as my name is down on the list and thats enough for them!
She also said that there won't be any cast appearances due to Cannes. However I know that Patrick Stewart is attending the Radio 1 private screening tomorrow, and Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry are filming Jonathon Ross on Thursday!
None of the cast will be at the hotel, but I wouldn't say it's due to Cannes, more likely the screening just won't be anything special.

Anyone got their tickets?
I got a reply today, asking for when I wanted the tickets.
I told them I had reserved 4 tickets for this saturday and wanted to know if I could combine that with the 2 free tickets, they said they'd try.
union_jak
05-25-2006, 06:46 AM
So what did people think about the prize then?
We went to the hotel and were given free drinks before the screening, had our own security and a surprise guest!
I stayed around after to chat to him, he was John Bruno the Visual effects supervisor. He told us that Patrick Stewart played the braindead man at the beginning and in the end. He was at Muir Island because he was Charles' twin brother, which explained why he sounded the same and how Patrick Stewart can return in X4.
He said there was a deleted scene with Phat on Alcatraz, but they removed it because they thought being fat was just a strange mutation to fight with.
He said that when the X-Men line up for 'the last stand', they kept doing the Macarana, so watch out for that in the outtakes!
I don't think many X-Squad winners turned up in the end.
I'm a little surprised that no one asked us for our names, we could have been anybody...
Is anyone still doing the missions? It ends soon doesn't it?
Jeez, no response all week then I get this.......agian
