Let's not have a reprise of "The Touch", and I'd rather not hear a nu-metal version of the classic theme song either.. but I know it's coming..
can they get Danny Elfman to do the score?

No lyrical songs, just instrumental. No hip hop, no rock, unless it's Bumblebee hamming to a rap or rock song for a couple minutes.

Steve Jablonsky (Steamboy , The Island :down ) is doing the score. As for a soundtrack, we'll have to wait and see.

can they get Danny Elfman to do the score?how do you feel about the old metal nu version fo the classic theme because honestly, it rips the **** out of the original...
and the series four theme comes second.

If it's an all-instrumental soundtrack, then i think that Jean Michel Jarre's Rendevouz 2 should be considered.

If by that you mean rock, there ain't a lot of good rock out lately either. If they want to reuse old songs, go ahead. But no new metal/whiny rock either.

I'd try and keep the songs minimal as much as possible, only to get a reaction of human culture from the 'bots.

GREAT idea.
Minimal Techno is verrrrry big right now overseas too. If only NorthAm radio would adopt some of Euro's ethos. *sigh* To dream...
The soundtrack would look great like this
Chemical Brothers
Plastikman
Thievery Corp.
Broken Social Scene
Metric
Goldfrapp
Tiga
Pendulum
Massive Attack
Orbital
The Orb
All of these artist could provide soundscape=esque music that is truly for the future.

Not all transformers fans liked that bastardization of a transformers movie that came out in 1986. I hated that soundtrack then and still hate it now. That music died 15 years ago. It's time to move on.
nosebleed.

Isn't the music playing at the beginning of the new trailer the new Linkin' Park song? I wouldn't mind if they can integrate the music like in 300...that worked perfectly.
Tempest19

Music is going to be integrated perfectly.
- IPod Cube song.
- High School establishment song.
- Songs that play on the radio.
The rest are probably 'inspired by'. Personally can't wait to own this- wonder why FF2 isn't having one this time around? Anyways, comes out June 25th (I believe..)

The best thing about The Island (Apart for SJ) was the music. I also hope that the music you hear as Keller arrives at the Dam in the trailer is part of the OST. I liked it.

Yeah, I like it too, although the beginning of the track, it starts when Bumblebee stands up straight, sounds a lot like Vangelis' soundtrack for Alexander. (I like OST's BTW :woot:)

For the past month, composer Steve Jablonsky has been recording his score to the upcoming action-packed summer movie, Transformers. Executive produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Michael Bay, the film was written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Mission: Impossible III) and features Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Jon Voight and John Turturro in a story about giant robots who take their fight to Earth. SoundtrackNet was at the scoring sessions to the film, and is excited to bring you a visual look at the musical recording process for this highly anticipated summer film.

Jablonsky, "awesome???" I'm not saying he's bad, but what has ever done that has ever resonated or lasted? At worse, he's sorta cliched bombastic sorta Video Game-ish (which suits Bay)... and at best he's just OK. He aint no Danny Elfman, that's for sure.
Having said that, I LIKE the score I've heard in the newer TF trailers. I like it a lot.

I'll rewatch the The Island (sigh) and see if it sticks out. I don't remember anything that I haven't already heard in commercials or video games. Just melodramatic soap-opera type stuff.
I dunno if I agree about the Elfman statement either. I grew to like (eventually) his Spider-man composition. I still think he's good... especially for being so prolific.

Dude, just get (it'd be best if you buy it, but i understand that money doesn't grow on trees) the Steamboy score...it's 100x better than The Island and it will OWN your ass (considering you're more into more straight-forward-type scores).

Nah, I'll check it out on Cinemax some time. There is no way I'm buying the Island. I've seen it 2.5 times. I hated it even more the second time around (a very rare thing for me). The third time I turned it off. One of the worst examples of "sci-fi" of all time in my book.
Steamboy was good though. And I did like the score a lot. Still, (though I stress that I liked it) it was a bit video-gamish... definately not Danny Elfman caliber. That's all I'm saying.

OMFG!!!!! Dudes, please, please, please tell me the theme on the game site is the film theme- fcking' best theme I ever heard!!! :wow: Really really EPIC!!!!!!!!
http://www.transformersgame.com/
If you loved the Island score, you are going to probably get a fangasm over hearing this.
I just checked and this is our theme guys!!!!!! :woot:
Definitely sounds alot more epic than what Elfman did for Spider-Man, and I loved Elfman's Spider-Man theme.
I never went to the game site, so this is new to me- don't know if it is around here. But, Jablonsky also did the game- so I doubt he'd go that far away from his film themes.
If this is any indication of what we're going to be getting come July 4th- WOW, think I'm about to faint even thinking about that.
Please tell me we're getting a score soundtrack as well!

Yeah, I like The Island soundtrack for what it is but a franchise like Transformers needs something with a bit more oomph, and that TF game music is certainly not it IMO. The trailer stuff was okay but it's still pretty generic, although I don't think Jablonsky did that anyway.

SOUNDTRACK LISTING ACCORDING TO WIKI:
1 "What I've Done" Linkin Park
2 "DoomsDay Clock" Smashing Pumpkins
3 "This Moment" Disturbed
4 "Before It's Too Late(Sam and Mikaela's Theme" Goo Goo Dolls
5 "Pretty Handsome Awkward" The Used
6 "Passion's Killing Floor" HIM
7 "What It Feels Like To Be A Ghost?" Taking Back Sunday
8 "Second To None" Styles Of Beyond
9 "End Of The World" Armor For Sleep
10 "Retina And The Sky" Idiot Pilot
11 "Technical Difficulties" Julien - K
12 "Transformers Theme" Mutemath
------------------------------------------
1. Linkin Park, that's the song we heard in the trailers.
2-3. These will be our more 'rock' bands, with Disturbed taking on the more really heavy rock side.
4-5. Goo Goo Dolls is a Sam and Mikela 'cover', can be heard now on these forums. The Used would also fit in this 'S&M' category.
6. The Used is a rock band as well, sounds more like 90s going into recent rock.
7. Originally I was skeptical about Taking Back Sunday, but thinking over it again- they could provide a cool song for the Sam and Mikela aspects of the story. Probably dealing with how Sam can never get Mikela's attention in the way that he wants.
8. Styles of Beyond is more of a hip-hop/rap type artist.
9-10. Armor for Sleep, and Idiot Pilot are also artists that fit more for the Sam and Mikela aspects of the story.
11. Couldn't listen to artist on ITunes.
12. This song can be heard now on the forums, sounds similar to a 'Link Park' type song.
