It's just a name. Like the other guy said, everyone pretty much calls it nintendo no matter what. Well at least do. It's about the games, not the name. I don't care if people make fun of the name, it's probably going to be a kick ass system no matter what. I originally thought playstation, xbox, and dreamcast were crappy names; but they are great systems in my opinion. The name don't mean ****. It could ruin marketing, but I think when people see the controller in action, no one is going to care what the system is called. Microsoft did get lucky with Halo, if Halo did not turn out to be the game that it was, it would have ended up like the Dreamcast. Because of Halo, people grew confidence in Microsoft and more good games were developed giving people even more confidence.

According to them, it's o.k. to not have a system of completing capabilities with the other ones on the market, it's o.k. not to have adult games, it's o.k. to ruin zelda, it's o.k. to not support music, online, and dvds, and it's o.k. to not release a true Mario game for 10 years even though it is their flagship mascot. I remember reading a quote from the president who even said it's ok to not have the large sales the other companies have. Then the make trivial crap and call it innovative, when really it's just crap nobody needs to play a videogame. The true innovation is the package deals and power of the other councils, even if they are a total rip off. But if you're smart, you steal them, right out of the back of the trucks, because it is sooo freaking easy.

I bet they changed the name when they realized this system won't be a revolution.

1. The Gamecube was more powerful than the Playstation 2 and despite not being as graphically powerful as the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3, the Revolution can produce some pretty games.

2. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil 4, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Geist, Soul Calibur II and the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess are games suitable for the adult market.

3. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was an awesome game. The graphics were awesome (despite being cel-shaded), the gameplay was awesome (despite too much sailing), and it produced the best fight with Ganon/Ganondorf EVER. You only b***h about this because the the cel-shaded graphics and that's it. If the graphics were like the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask you probally wouldn't be b***hing about it. Oh well, the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is using a different style for their graphics closer to the Nintendo 64 games, so happy now?

4. That's because Nintendo is about the games, not unnecessary features such as playing DVDs and CDs. That is what DVD and CD players are for. Because Nintendo decided to ignore these features, the Gamecube was cheaper than the Playstation 2 and Xbox. But don't worry, the Wii is going to have a DVD player in it so happy now?
Yes, Nintendo made a mistake by ignoring online gameplay unlike Microsoft and Sony, but they are fixing it. The Wii will have online play to it.

5. Super Mario Sunshine for the Gamecube is a true Mario game. Super Mario 128 will be on the Wii, hopefully as a launch title. Yoshi's Story, Luigi's Mansion, and Wario World are decend spin-offs of the Mario world. However Nintendo does need to cut down on the Mario Parties and the Mario Sports titles.

6. Nintendo has said that because they belive in quality over quantity. They want people to enjoy their games and products. That is their number one goal compared to Sony and Microsoft whose number one goal is to make a profit and come out on top.

7. Yes, pure graphical power is innovation. Something that has been done before, again, and again. That my friend is not innovation. That is taking a successful formula and using it again because it will succeed. That is what Sony and Microsoft are doing. Nintendo is trying something new with the Wii and while doing that, they are respecting traditional gaming, hence why shells for the controller for the Wii are going to be made to play a game in the traditional sense. Also Gamecube controllers can be used for the Wii. So expect Resident Evil 5, EA Sport's Madden 2007, Spider-Man 3, and many other titles that will appear on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 to appear on the Wii. Also, the Wii can play games from the Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Genesis, and Turbo-Graphx on the system due to the Virtual Console service.
And the Wii is expected to have better 3rd party support than the Nintendo 64 and the Gamecube did.

8. Stealing is never cool, you want something, you pay for it. There was some amount of work put into things that are offered for sale.

But they are getting third party support. A lot of developers are very intrigued with Nintendo's controller and they just announced madden for the console. I think the system is going to be ok with the marketing. That video introducing the name was pretty cool.

ya, a lot of those are ports that were already released. As far as the rest goes...that's not a big selection of GOOD adult games for the whole span of a counsel.

I have a theory that Nintendo skipped online play because the majority of their games are aimed at CHILDREN, and online nothing can be rated because of text and sound communications. Nintendo probably didn't want to be liable. This time they are probably doing it just because it would probably be death for them if they didn't. Maybe that means their children market will be forced to diminish and balance will be restored, or maybe not. It will be interesting.

Mario 128, Luigi's Mansion, and Yoshi's Story all SUCKED. Especially Yoshi's story, how dissapointing. A side scroller with just about no teeth. Look at the sheer difficulty and complexity of Yoshi's Island 2 for SNES, a much better game with a lot of replay value. Getting 100 point on every level to get bonus levels? A hell of a lot more levels and worlds. And it was one of the more difficult games to begin with. You gotta love those levels where all odds are stacked against you.

Also, Nintendo themselves said Sunshine wasn't a true sequal to M 64 and that the next will be. 64 2/128/whatever it's called has been put on the backburner so many times it just forward tracked 3 counsels. That's bad.
