As cool as that would be, I would rather see Clark fly first. It would be more appropriate.

i wouldnt mind if they let Zod fly like casually and clark was just shocked by it and zod said something about how clark isn't worthy to be a kryptonian he doesnt even know the extent of his powers then clark gets beat up maybe and then clark tries to fly and its just magic and memorable:D

I think zod should float all casual and show clark what a real fight is like(all the while floating) and saying "cant even stay 2 seconds of the ground".
Reallly off topic I WANT A REAL DAMN FIGHT. No throws across rooms for 1 minute. Actuall to the frekin death, buildings exploding, sonic booms, fighting. And no slow motion. These guys move at superspeed, we should see it like that(to them they arent moving slow, why should we see it like that?).

I want to see Clark beaten within an inch of his life. There's no way a pre- Superman Clark Kent could be able to take on General Zod. It was mere luck that he sent his deciples to the Phantom Zone. If Clark could go toe to toe with Zod and come out standing, well, Zod would be a pretty weak Kryptonian.

More importantly clark doesnt know how to fight. He doesnt have the experience comic clark had(he didnt start getting the noticable powers till late in teen life)

More importantly clark doesnt know how to fight. You mean hand to hand - equal strength type stuff? He did pretty okay in Transference - in Lionel's body no less. ;)

Christopher Reeve's Superman was the worst combatant of any Superman interpretation!!!!!!
lol yes. That lame kick in Superman II.....holy.
Hopefully they used some real martial arts technique on the new Superman like they did with Batman.

Im sorry in my humble opinion i truly believe Clark has got to meet his match physically and mentally one time or more than one time. Its part of becoming superman. He has to learn that sometimes no matter how strong you are that there might be someone stronger, physically and mentally. Plus like its already been stated it simply wouldnt be believed that a young clark who hasnt even mastered his powers yet coulg beat someone who has way more experience in such matters. But then again wait a minute how do we know that Zod has mastered all these powers? Someone refresh me if you can. How does zod who has never been on earth automatically come down and have ever single power mastered, flying heatvision, breath, etc etc etc. Wouldnt he have to learn how to use and control them as well? Sorry for the rambling but just a thought.

I really hate that Zod has no body....I kinda wanted a new actor to take up the role.
Possessing some random human is pretty lame too...I think Zod will be gone forever after he leaves Lex's body.

I personally thought that was crap now that you have reminded me of it but ah well. so Zod has the mastery of all powers, and clark has met his match. I guess its that simple

Zod is a man of science he probaly knew that the conditions on earth allowed for such abilities and that is why he sent clark there.
Zod also came to earth along time ago where he meet grandpa kent in one episode of smallville so he probaly gained the experince there

Up until the Superman II fight, Clark had never fought anyone. He's always been superhuman. The first thing he did on Earth was lift a truck. Had he fought someone, he woulda killed them. Not only did he not have fighting experience from fighting equals, he hadn't even fought those weaker than him. He has zero skill, and never had a chance to develop any fighting abilities.
The Smallville Clark wasn't born super, so he probably got into a few schoolyard scraps, so he has a little experience atleast.

Ur absolutely right except for one thing. Instead of Zod you need to put the name Jor-el in there.
Like i have said please correct me if i am wrong. I thought Zod was one of Kryptons highest ranking generals before he turned EVVIIIIL. Then Jor-El banished his tail to the pz.
And Jor-el did come to smallville in an episode and met grandaddy kent.
I remember pete saying in an episode that clark pushed a kid through a door and it busted to splinters in gradeschool.

The Smallville Clark wasn't born super...Mmmm... well, depends. How far back are we talking here?
Jonathan to Roger Nixon in Vortex:
"The first time Clark used his abilities, he'd crawled under a big oak bed that my grandfather had made, and I crawled underneath it to try to get him out. All of a sudden the frame just came up in the air. He was a toddler lifting - I dunno - 500 pounds over his head."
Clark (in Lionel's body) to Martha in Transference:
"Mom, remember when I was six and I was playing tag with Dad, and all of a sudden I started running faster than I'd ever run before, and I was in the middle of Palmer woods completely lost. And you and Dad had to call Sheriff Ethan, and when you saw me, you started crying. And I thought something was wrong with me, and you said no, there wasn't. And then you held me in your arms and you told me I was just special. I'm your special boy, you said."
