I'm getting a computer, but don't have a phone jack in my room. Are there any that work for dial-up connection? I've read reviews of some that say it doesn't work very well.

What your asking is if wireless internet works with dial-up.

The answer is that 'technically' there is such a thing, but what you've been told about it not working very well is an understatement. It sucks and just isn't worth it.

It'd be easier, better and cheaper, just to run an extra-long phone cord (or even connect 2 if you need to) from the nearest phone jack into your room. You can work it around the edge of walls or under rugs, etc.

If your computer is hooked up for wireless internet, you could see if there's a hot spot in your room that you could use.

I found out that my room has a hot spot and I'm able to use it to connect to the internet when mine is down.

Yeah, they make these wireless transponders that you hook up to your phone jack and then plug it's companion transponder into a power outlet in a room that doesn't have a phone jack. Works kindasortaokay for voice, but it's way too slow for using to access the 'net over. I think that's what he was asking about.
