IC is ending, and 52 is beginning. But with OYL, the idea to get it is on in the air in my brain.
As of now (with OYL on your mind and and fact of buying one issue every week), are you getting 52?

Without a doubt.
The Question
04-29-2006, 03:02 PM
But of course. It'll be a big DC books that WON'T be centered around the big three for once. And it has The Question in it. :D

I'll be getting it...for many of the reasons stated above: It has minor characters getting the spotlight, and it fills in the gap. The fact that it's a weekly thing also interests me.

most of dc's recent events (and cartoon shows) have centered less on the "big characters" and more on the "lesser" ones

Its so hard to keep up with everything. I've been trying to get all the OYL titles I can. I just don't have the money. I really want to get all the issues of 52 though. Any suggestions of which titles you feel are most important in OYL, just so I can cut back on spending so much money.

I think Batman books, superman books, the flash, teen titnas and jLA would be the best OYL books to buy, cause I think they'll have the biggest effect on the DCU.

Alright thanks man, I've been getting the Superman ones anyways, just because hes my favorite character. Its hard for me to keep up thought really, I picked up Blue Beetle, ION, Firestorm, and a few others trying to keep up with the whole DC Universe.

I'm crossing my fingers that it comes out on time for the whole year... because if it doesn't not only will it disappoint fans, but every other publisher and many comic book readers are gonna have the satisfaction of saying "told you so" :(

I'm getting it without a doubt. It should be really good. It'll be nice to have a story that you can read with only a week inbetween installments.

I know that I'll be getting the ones that really show off the Question and Steel, but I don't know about any of the others. If they catch my eye and I have the cash to spend, then yes.

You can view a preview of the first issue on DC's website. Here's a link to it. You must have Adobe Acrobat installed to view it.

There's some cool stuff in there. I especially like the last page. :)

I still don't know. Its like you kinda don't need it because OYL is all you need after IC. But you don't know if one issue's gonna change your mind, then once that happens you have to go back and get the past issues that'll cost you $$$ just to complete it.
Let me ask this: the end of IC to the beginning of OYL, is that still good/better than the end of IC to 52 to the beginning? Would that be easier?

Got the first issue, very interesting. Definitely gonna be on board for the other 51 weeks. After going through Idenity Crisis, the minis, Countdown and Infinite Crisis, I'm too invested already to not get 52.

I'll probably pick up the first and last story arc to tie in IC and OYL. Now if the first arc is really good, then I'll continue collecting it until it gets slow...or boring.

I loved the first issue. It was kind of hard to follow at first since it skipped from day to day so quickly, but I got used to that. Booster is looking very interesting so far. Bennett's pencils were great, too. I'm guessing he was really rushed on the couple of pages he drew for IC #7 because his work was much improved here. Can't wait for next week.
