I didn't read them, just glanced at them. They both looked great. I'm just so glad that I'm a DC fan right now.

I think the second Batman is Jason Todd. Joker was beating him with a crowbar. He pulled a gun and tried to kill him. JT refered to Bruce as "father" while Talia was taking care of him in the Batman annual. Batman and Son could be Bruce and Jason. Of course I would much rather have a book with a 15/16/17 year old Ibn al Xu'ffasch. (Wow. I correctly spelled that from memory!)

The Batman art looks great. I loved Lee's run and Kubert's style seems to be very similar. I also love the Jokers line. I can't wait for Morrisons run to begin.
The Superman art looks great too, but what's up with Superman's face on the second page? He looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
I like that DC's re-establishing some old villains like Intergang again. Superman really needs an upgrade in the villains department.

What guy?

He's some private eye. He's going to work for Batman during the day, when Bats can't operate. I think he was hired in the last Detective issue.

Thanks. It's been awhile since I've read any Batman stuff.

I hope it is Jason. I don't think Bats should have a kid.

gawd this is going to be great. Pacheco art seems way off compared to his gl and superman batman work.

i think it's jason also. i believe taht something happens in the nightwing books that makes jason leaves for gotham having heard something about the joker, so he dresses as batman to get closer to the joker and well the rest happens in the preview.

Whoa...it's a great time to be a Batman/Superman fan now.
I went and bought the issue of Wizard today and Morrison says that he is going to explore the Son Of A Demon Story. , reasoning being that it is not really clear if it is in continuity or not so he will clear that up. So Pysched!!! Superman looks great by the way!!!

I'm guessing the second Bats is Bruce & Talia's son.

it'll be really cool if jason todd turns out to be bruce's son.

That's...a horrible idea. And it's not going to happen. We already know who Jason's parents are.

Wouldn't that age Bruce and Talia too much?

The fact that there's a second Batman at all is not cool, but if anyone can pull it off it's Morrison. I love Morrison's Joker, too. "I killed Batman... in front of a busload of disabled kids! HAHAHHAHAHA!" :D

Maybe it's the Tim Drake Batman from "Titans Tomorrow". Just a thought.

I sincerely doubt that.

I really liked the "Titans Tomorrow" Batman, except for the fact that his younger counterpart managed to kick his ass. That was pretty emasculating no matter how you look at it. :(

Jason would almost definitely have a gun in his belt too. So...

Hey! Great seeing Neutron again! I wish the fight would have lasted at least a page longer though, but oh well. I still loved it. :D
The Question
05-01-2006, 02:54 PM
I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy this. On the one hand, I love Morrison's writing. On the other, he writes Batman WAY too over the top. And I heard he'd have Batman fighting a group of 50 ninjitsu Man-Bats mid air in one of his issues.

Is it not okay to post these on the SHH boards? If not, why hasn't anyone?

Well, they're Wizard scans. Let some other site host them.

Thats what I thought. The reason being, I found a panel in A Death in the family that is oddly familiar to one of the preview pics. Thought I might post to maybe add a little merit to the Bats #2 is Jason theory, but I'm not too excited to get banned or anything

Nah, post away. I think Kubert's directly referencing that pose from Death in the Family, though. Which is a reference to Superman with Supergirl in COIE, which is a reference to Michaelangelo's pieta.

wow lois...that's kinda hot...and first two nightwings and now two batmen? and all sorts of multiple characters running around in all the DC post IC books...? i wonder, could it be some sort of residue or various counterparts from the parallel universes running around? kinda like multiverse counterparts that didn't disappear after new earth formed? that would be a weird idea but hey, i don't recall seeing anyone mention it

I don't think it's anything that profound- Morrison likes to play around with his readers, and there is probably a much less epic explaination for this sequence. The "Death in the Family" pose is probably just included to maximise the humour of Batman dumping The Joker in a bin.

Morrison's run is gonna be awesome....
I find him fighting man bat ninjas incredibly cool. I for one am a fan of morrison's "James Bond Batman".
