I was just curious on the fact that Bruce Wayne has mentored 3 robins already, have there been any cases in real life about someone mentoring another person the way Bruce Wayne did with Dick, Jason and Tim? I mean how do you get a mentor in real life?

Well, Bruce is basically just being the ideal adoptive father figure. Kids get mentors of all different sorts: Parents would factor in, as would teachers, coaches, etc.
