What are the best Batman movie moments?

Off the top of my head...

The best of all is the Journey into Mystery scene from Batman.

"I want you to tell all your friends about me...." scene, from Batman dropping into the background to him leaping away down the alley.

The Penguin's speech to his penguins, "It's time to punish all of Gotham!"

The Joker's entrance, "I've been dead once already" scene.

Robin meeting Batman for the first time in the Batcave.

"I am Catwoman, here me roar."

The pre-credits scene of Batman Returns, and the wonderful music.

The Batmobile driving up a wall to escape an explosion in Forever.

Bruce and Selina at the Maxsquerade ball.

Chase talking to Nygma in Arkham Asylum, "Who........is it?"

The Penguin meeting Catwoman in his lair. "Just the pussy i've been looking for.")

Batman crashing thru the skylight in both Batman and Batman Forever.

The Batskiboat sequence in Returns.

B89 two thugs scene with the "I'm Batman" scene.
Great scene, I remember seeing it at the theater and I was  when Batman took that shot, and then the whole scene goes with that all batmanish stuff and ends with that badass "I'm Batman", totally awesome.
I went several times to the movie theater and this scene gave me chills everytime I saw it. Classic.

All of the afore mentioned...

"Nice"

"I couldn't find any mob bosses..."

"Well, Srgt. ..."

"Oh, it's Lt. now... you really started something! Bent Cops running SCARED. hope on the streets."

"But..."

"But the Narrows is lost. And we still haven't picked up Crane, or half the inmates of Arkham that he freed."

"We WILL. WE CAN bring Gotham, BACK."

"What about Escelation?"

"Escelation?..."

"We start carrying semi-automatics, THEY but automatics. We start wearing kevlar, THEY buy armor piercing rounds."

"And?"

"AND YOU'RE WEARING A MASK....and jumping off rooftops. Take this guy... double homocide, has a taste for the theatrical.... like you...leaves a calling card."

*hands him a card*

"I'll look into it."

"I never said Thank You."

"And you'll never have to..."

*jumps off building and cape spreads*

Purely the most heroic and best pure Batman scene, this side of the final shot of B89 with Batman on the Catherdral looking at the signal.

Penguin and batman's first meeting

penguin- you don't think you'll win do you? (great delivery by devito)

Batman- things change

The narrow passage with the batmobile in "returns"

"alright now i'm a little worried"

*agressively flips the controls to turn the batmobile into the batmissile*

Penguin- They wouldn't put me on a pedestal so i'm layin them on a slaaaab!!!!

The penguin march to the citys center

I recently rewatched my dvd of returns and noticed theres a recurring theme of trust and betrayal

(89)

The batmobiles debut

Batman-get in the car!

Vale- which one?

*cue elfman's batman theme*

Then the drive back to the cave

Vale- where are we going?

Batman-..........................

*batman increases speed

*elfman theme

all the way up to when they reach the cave

batman and the cathedral

something I think that begins didn't quite get right was that batman doesn't say much burton got it though. Minor flaw in begins but good movie

batmaluco
05-19-2006, 08:19 PM
I kinda agree with El Payaso, partially.
Some of his lines were not very well delivered.
Overall I liked his acting, but at that scene with Gordon it was plain
awful:

"GORDON:
What was the plan, Crane?

How were you gonna get
your toxin into the air?

Scarecrow. Scarecrow.

Who were you working for, Crane?

Oh, it's too late.

You can't stop it now."

At the same time, I liked very much his acting in some other scenes, like this one for instance:

"He's here.

MAN :
Who?

The Batman.

MAN : What do we do?
- What anyone does...

...when a prowler comes around.

- Call the police.
- You want the cops here?

At this point, they can't stop us.

But the Batman
has a talent for disruption.

Force him outside,
the police will take him down. Go.

MAN : What about her?
CRANE: She hasn't got long.

I gave her a concentrated dose.

The mind can only take so much.
Now go.

MAN :
The things they say about him.

Can he really fly?

MAN :
I heard he can disappear.

Well, we'll find out.

Won't we?"

But this didn't hurt the enjoyment of this movie at all, for me.
It was a great film, that could be even better. And I think that the sequel will be better than BB.

My favorite moments from the Batman movies is hard for me to think of 'cause I love every single part of them.

I even like one scene in Batman and Robin and, that's the scene when Batman spreads his cape over Mr.Freeze after just crashing through Freeze's windshield. It just looks cool.

My faves of the other movies are...

Batman
The opening credits, The first scene, Batman crashing through the skylight in the Museum, The Joker revealed, "Wait'll they getta' load of me.", The Batwing scenes, The Batmobile chase and gouing back to the Cave with Vicki, Suiting up

Batman Returns, oh , there's just so many I love these movies!

Hmmm...

Theres the Joker throwing money everywhere scenes in 89s and that entire sequence till the end was just superb.

In Returns theres the scene where Wayne rips his mask off and the entrance to the drawbridge to his bat costume.. that was well done.

In Begins... probably the tumbler chase and the ending train battle.

In addition to some of the Batman '89 and BB moments already mentioned:

"I thought I might prepare your supper..."
No response.
"Very well..."
"Alfred..."
"Yes, master Bruce?"
"It was my fault, Alfred."
"Oh no, no no..."
"If I hadn't gotten scared..."
"It was nothing you did. It was him. And him alone. Do you understand?"
"I miss them Alfred, I miss them so much."
"So do I master Bruce...so do I."

I remember when they posted clips from the movie online before it came out, this was the one clip that really got me psyched.

Batman (1989):

"I'm Batman"

"Love that Joker"
Joker's Death

Batman Returns(I can't remember much though, I haven't seen it in a while):
Penguin's interrupted speech
Death of Penguin
Max vs. Catwoman
Catwoman looking at the batsignal

Batman Forever:
Introduction to Robin
Two-Face vs. Robin
Batman saves Robin and Dr. Chase

Batman Begins:
"Would You Like to see my mask?"
Falcone and Bruce in the diner
"If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart."
"I don't have to save you"
"Dr. Crane's not in at the moment, but you could leave a message"

My all time favorite Batman moment in any movies movie comes from Batman Returns:

PENGUIN
I think you're jealous that I'm a
genuine freak, and you have to wear
a mask!
BATMAN
Maybe you're right.

Other great moments from Returns:

ALFRED
Why are you now determined to prove
that this Penguin is not what he seems? Must you be
the only lonely "man-beast" in town?
BRUCE
"... Circus folded its tents
yesterday, perhaps forever. After
numerous reports of missing
children in several towns, police
have closed down the Red Triangle's
fairgrounds. However, at least
one freak show performer vanished
before he could be questioned."
ALFRED
I suppose you feel better now, sir.
BRUCE
No, actually I feel worse.

SELINA
It's blurry ... I mean,
not complete amnesia ... I remember
Sister Mary-Margaret puking in
Church, and Becky Riley said it was
morning sickness.
And I remember the time I forgot
to wear underpants to school, and
the name of the boy who noticed
... Ricky Friedburg... he's dead
now ... But last night? Complete
and total blur.

BRUCE
You've got kind of a dark side to you.
SELINA
No darker than yours, Bruce.

SELINA
Well? Was "Vicki" right? About
your difficulty with duality?
BRUCE
If I said yes, then you might
think me a Norman Bates, or a Ted
Bundy type ... and then you might
not let me kiss you.
SELINA
It's the so-called "normal" guys
who always let you down. Sickos
never scare me. At least they're
commited.

SELINA
A kiss under the mistletoe.
Mistletoe can be deadly, if you
eat it ...
BRUCE
But a kiss can be even deadlier,
if you mean ... it.
SELINA
Oh god ... does this mean we have
to start fighting now?

From Batman:

The opening sequence up to "I'm Batman"

JOKER
It is legitimate! I saw him. I
was THERE! I saw it all, he raised his dead
hand and signed the paper in his
own blood. And he did it with
this pen! Hello, Vinnie -- it's your
uncle Bingo, time to pay the
check!

The "Love that Joker" commercial

JOKER
Let me tell you what I've got in
mind, Sweetie. I was in the
bathtub one day, when I realized
why I was destined for greatness.
You know how concerned most people
are about appearances. This is
pretty, that is not. Well that is all behind
me now. I now do what others only dream
of. I make art, until somebody dies.

VICKI VALE
Some people think you're as dangerous as the Joker.
BATMAN
He's psychotic.
VICKI VALE
Some people say the same about you.
BATMAN
What people?
VICKI VALE
Well, let's face it. You're not exactly normal, are you?
BATMAN
This isn't exactly a normal world, is it?

Bruce's confession to Vicki in the cave.

From Batman Begins:

Alfred Pennyworth: I prepared the master bedroom.
Bruce Wayne: No, my room will be fine.
Alfred Pennyworth: With all due respect sir, Wayne Manor is your house.
Bruce Wayne: It's not my house Alfred, it's my father's house.
Alfred Pennyworth: Your father is dead.
Bruce Wayne: This place is a mausoleum. If I had my will, I would tear it down brick by brick.
Alfred Pennyworth: This house, Master Wayne, was shelter to six generations of your family.
Bruce Wayne: Why do you give a damn, Alfred? It's not your family.
Alfred Pennyworth: I give a damn because a good man once made me responsible for what was most precious to him in the whole world.
(this was easily the best scene in the movie)

SCARECROW
Having trouble? Take a seat. Have a drink. You look like a man who takes himself too seriously. You want my opinion? You need to lighten up.
(this scene should have lasted longer than half a minute, but Murphy's performance was great)

CRANE
This is where we make the medicine, maybe you should try some. Clear your head.

GORDON
What's that noise?
BATMAN
Back up.

Best Batman moments for me:

Batman:

- Mirror...MIRROR!!!! Then that evil Joker laugh, man when I was a kid that scared me stiff.
- Joker turns around and Boo! Heee HAHAHAHAH!!!!

Batman Returns:

- Dark Wayne Manor then the signal and the mirrors reflect it and Bruce stands up to become Batman...awesome!
- Batman using his Batmobile to beat up the goons, those faces he was making are awesome.
- Batman beating up the goons on the streets of gotham, good fight there!
- End scene where Bruce runs out of his car to find Catwoman yet no one is there. Sucks that the series ended like that though with Batman alone and we never get to see Selina again :( .

For me.....as a Comic Book fan.....it has to be the ending of Batman Begins.

I mean......the rooftop meeting is hands down one of the most classic Batman moments in comics.....and it NEVER happened in the previous films. The closest we ever got to it was a half naked Chase (which was pretty nice....but...beside the point) and a thumbs up from Batman while in the Batwing.

It was nice to see the meeting FINALLY done.

LOL!
And how did Gordon get to see this? Batman wasn't really near...

And thanks Nolan that they finally made their rooftop meeting.

One thing to point out.....does Gordon live in GCPD HQ in Batman Forever? I mean.....he showed up in his bathrobe like it's the roof of his house...

i hate the rooftop scenes because it's entirely out of character when you consider that A GIANT SPOTLIGHT SHOWN TO THE SKY WILL BE VISIBLE TO EVERY CRIMINAL WITH A HIGH POWERED RIFLE KNOWING FULL WELL THAT BATMAN WILL SHOW UP EVENTUALLY. that's my only gripe. the way it should play out is that the bat signal lights up and the meeting is elsewhere away from where the light is.

There is a really great 3-5 second scene in Batman Begins that I think really is great. It shows that despite Ra's being so powerful, when he does see Batman coming crashing through the train window, leaping onto the microwave emitter and glaring at Ra's...he's scared of Batman. The look Batman gives him is amazing.

Not to mention the "I'm Batman" scene with The Roman is...like amazing. Bale's Batman voice is great.

Rooftop entrance, breaking glass along the way to rescue Vicki Vale from The Joker - Just classic, wonderful and realistic (CGI not included) stunt!

Batman Returns is my favorite Batman movie.

-Selina's resurrection
-Batman/Selina/Max fight

-Batman V.S. Catwoman
-The lines with Penquin right before they see Catwoman for the first time.

Sorry, I've got a hard time admitting it's "out of character" when it's actually from the comic book character's source material.....the comics.

I love that scene.

However, after watching the specials on the dvd and mentioned on these boards....I can't stop eyeing the cable behind Bats. But, still it's one of those film that really proved that things could be done without any CGI whatsoever.

I like alot of the Joker's quotes. The scene in the tower, when Joker is playing the "You made me" card: "You threw me into that vat of chemicals, it's hard to get over.....and don't think that I didn't try." Love that line.

The end of B89 was incredible too, with Elfman's music doing the job too.

I thought Batman crushing that thug's skull against that bathroom mirror while he's taking a piss......I mean, c'mon.......that's just ****ing badass.

Batman: The Movie - Batman to find some place do dispose a live bomb

BATMAN - the entire Belfry sequence

Batman Returns - the reveal at Shreck's ball

Batman Forever - Bruce and Dick's convo after Batman rescues Dick from the neon gang

Batman & Robin - every scene between Bruce and Alfred

Batman Begins - The scene at the docks

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm - Alfred's first time seeing Batman at the cave

Sub-Zero, Return of the Joker and Mystery of the Batwoman I have not seen as much as the others so I can't really type a favorite moment from each since I've seen them each like once even though I own them all.

Batman
-The scene at the beginning with the two thugs
-the Axis Chemicals scene when Napier becomes the Joker
-the museum rescue, escape, drive to the Batcave.

These scenes truly set the tone for the movie. The music and the action were dead on.

Batman Returns
-The opening action scene with the Red Triangle Gang
-Batman versus the Red Triangle Gang - Batman and the Penguin (You don't think you'll win do you...)

Batman Forever
-Opening Action sequence - two face - bank robbery
-Batman facing off against Two Face at Nygma's party (falling through the skylight)

Batman and Robin
-I don't like anything about this movie.....even the moments between Bruce and Alfred can't save this one....

Batman Begins
-The entire movie....as a Bat fan I was completely satisfied with this movie.
-If I had to pick one scene it would be the last scene on the rooftop between Batman and Gordon as the Bat signal is lit for the first time. This scenes sums up what Batman is all about and with the Joker card is the perfect ending to the movie.

Museum scene and subsequent Batmobile scene
Bat-plane scene
The end in the cathedral

Batman Returns-
Batman vs The Red Triangle Gang at the Christman tree lighting.
"Welcome to the Penguin's school of driving."
Shreck vs Selina at the end.

Batman Begins-
The opening in the prison-"Your not the devil......your practice."
The killing of Bruce's parents, really haunting.
Sword fight on the ice lake and training montage.
Ducard and Bruce at the fire-" I wasnt always here in the mountains, once i had a wife, my great love, she was.......taken from me......like you i was forced to learn that there are those without decency....who must be faught without hesitation, without pity...."

The worst scene in Batman Begins was the credits at the end....lol

89
- Opening scene when Batman Floats down in the background.
- When Bruce first meets Vicki and Knox ,explaining where he bought the Armour from.
- When Vicki rides in the Batmobile
- The last scene where Batman is on the rooftop as we see the Bat signal for the first time.

Returns
- The Whole opening scene , from bith of the Penguin to the end of the credit sequence
- Bruce in the dark rising as the Bat signal comes through
- Every scene with Bruce and Selina ,especially Face to Face at the Ball
- The Batmobile patroling the streets
- Penguin visiting his parents grave
- Batman taking out the Organ Grinder in the train
- Penguin's Death
- The very last scene where Bruce runs down the alley way after seeing catwomen but returns alone.

Forever
- Bruce explains to Dick that killing Two Face will solve nothing.

Batman And Robin
- Nothing

Batman Begins
- Pretty much every scene

Batman:
-Opening scene. All five or six minutes of it.
-Gordon seeing Batman for the first time ("Oh myyy god...")
-Batman gliding after Napier (seriously, he's like utterly silent.)
-Crashing into the Museum.
-The entire Batwing and Belfry scenes.
-The Batsignal.

Batman Returns
-The Batsignal shining through on Bruce
-The Bat-Glider
-Moment when Selina and Bruce realise just who each other REALLY are. (I love that. Keaton steps back and you can just see his face change. That is so Batman)
-The Bat-ski-boat
-Flying into Arctic World on grapple.

Batman Forever (Crap movie, but there is ONE awesome scene that really is a Batman moment)
-Batman emerging from the flames after Two-Face grenades the gas pipes. The look on Kilmers face for that ten seconds, HE IS BATMAN. After that, he's just Kilmer.

Batman and Robin
-The End Credits, when you realise the nightmare is over.

Batman Begins
-Absolutely everything.

Batman Mask of the Phantasm (Well, I could say the entire film for this one too)
-"I made them a promise"
-Bruce's first night
-Seeing the "car of the future"(HIS future I might add) at the Worlds Fair
-A proposal and the Bats reminding Bruce of his destiny
-Bruce first puts on the Mask
-The entire scene at the abandoned Worlds Fair
-"I am alone." The signal at the end.

That is also my favorite scene from Forever. It makes you wonder if the movie had more moments like that if it would have been a better film. As far as the Forever music theme it is used perfectly in that scene.

Let me just say in Batman Begins, the exit from the train via glider was the best exit ive seen in the batman films. He tosses a bomb at the window for a strong draft, hits the trains link up behind him,

"I wont kill you, but i dont have to save you"

and then lets the wind take him away.

GOLD.

I've been listening to the Batman soundtrack from 1989 lately since it has been in my CD changer in my vehicle. The one scene I've always enjoyed is after Bruce figures out the Joker's identity and realize he killed his parents (d*mn you Burton...lol). He dons the mask and goes after Axis chemicals. The music in that scene was powerful especially once the bomb ignites and the Batmobile is cruising through the flames. Great scene :).

I have agreed with quite a few posted, but there are two moments missing that really are well acted, albeit short, moments that truly define what the character is about; and I think they have been overlooked because *gasp* they are in Batman & Robin. Firstly, Freeze in prison carving the ice sculpture of Nora and secondly, the close up of his eyes when he thinks her dead, and the tear forms, freezes on his face and crumbles away!......

CFE

The two best dialogue moments from Batman and Robin:

Alfred: Death and chance stole your parents. But rather than become a victim, you have done everything in your power to control the fates. For what is Batman...if not an effort to master the chaos that sweeps our world. An attempt to control death itself...
Bruce: But I can't...can I?
Alfred: None of us can...

Alfred: There's no defeat in death, Master Bruce...Victory comes in defending what we know is right...while we still live...

And the single greatest shot in the enitirety of the first Batman franchise, in my opinion, the shot right after Catwoman tells the Shreck security guards to 'hit the road.' The shot with Batman turning the corner, holding the dynamite in hand, looking down but pushing on. Then without looking, punches the clown in the face and spins, throwing him with ease (and the courteous Willhelm scream) That movement, and how Keaton pulled it off, is my single all time favorite moment in a Batman film. Oh sure I've got plenty of others, but MAN! That moment in Returns is purely and simply awesome!!!

For me, the best scene of the Batman films is from B89, when Batman took Vicki Vale into the Batcave. The mood, the scenery, with the "Descent into Mystery" track playing. Batman not allowing Vicki to look him in the face while he's driving.

Just awesome. And "Descent into Mystery" is my favorite Batman track. Bar none.
