The chances of either happening are zero, Capcom ports all of their games to a Playstation when a game "underperforms" and Grand Theft Auto is stuck as a Playstation brand game even though it has gone multiplatform. If Grand Theft Auto goes exclusive at all, it will be with the Playstation 3.

Remember when Microsoft tried to get Metal Gear Solid exclusivity, Final Fantasy exclusivity and tried to buy Sega. Microsoft has a hard time getting "Playstation" games exclusive for their console :o

But yeah, I have to agree...

Sony has made, IMO, a HUGGGE mistake with this. The most glaring one is a lot of what they failed to mention in the conference...the TRUE difference between the Core and Premium packs.

As someone who works at Circuit City, I hear a lot of people say "I'll just wait for the PS3, cause it'll have a Blu-Ray player in it." Or sometimes an occasional "PS3 will output in 1080p...something XBOX360 can't do.

Well, with what Sony's put together here, unless you chuck out $600 for the Premium one, neither will your PS3! No HDMI means no 1080p. Even worse...no HDMI means your Blu-Ray movies will be down-converted to... let me know if I'm wrong here...something like 540i! "The only TRUE HD console" my butt!

Want memory cards, so you can take small save files with you to your friend's house? Can't do it with the $500 version.

Can't wait to save $100 by having WiFi built into the PS3? Well, you better make sure you get the $600 one.

You like the now-standard Rumble feature that your controller outputs during your games? Say goodbye to this COMPLETELY on the PS3. That's right, no Rumble AT ALL. It "interferes with the tilt-sensoring feature". Strange, Nintendo was able to have both for their Wiimote.

Can't wait to play those 7-player-at-one-time games Krazy Ken said the system would allow? Well if the pictures of the "new" controller are any indication, you can only have 4 players at any time. Note the four lights on the top of the controller that tell you whether you're player 1, 2, 3, or 4.

Hyped up about the dual-screen output? Well I read a report on...IGN, I think... that mentions that it won't be able to do this after all! :eek: Now whether this means no dual HDMI output or no dual output at all, they didn't seem sure, but here's yet another promise Sony has failed to keep.

So let's look at it this way:

You can spend "only" $500 for PS3 Core. But if you want the REAL PS3 you'll be screwed. For that, you'll have to buy the $600 one. This is as opposed to the $300 Core XBOX360 (which can be "upgraded" to a Premium if you just buy the accessories that make the difference...you can't "upgrade" the hardware that the Core PS3 is missing), and the $400 Premium XBOX360.

I can see a power difference between the top tier PS3 games and the top teir 360 games, for sure, it's their marginally, but I don't think it's worth 500-600 dollars. At if you think of the PS3 as an entertainment hub (as such it's a good deal for what it offers) then you can't get the 500 dollar version anyway.

Oh well, there are still great PS2 releases slated all the way into mid 2007, I'll see what the scene is by then. But I'll be gettinga Revolution at launch.

You get two big levels. One is an attack on a bug Hive the other is a raid on a pirates base.

You get to try out a heap of weapons and the mechs you drive around too.

Graphics are great.

Controls are good, a little loose and the aiming could be a bit tighter.

Swarms of flying bugs massing on you is freaking cool.

The giant bugs that pop out of the ground are a ***** to kill on foot... Best use a rocket launcher to blow a few legs off the go in for the kill :up:

I give it to them just about every year. Nintendo's conference is more like a rabid fanboy party than a normal press conference. IMO they always have more energy that makes it a better conference. When the Nintendo fans go ape**** over everything even if the games looks only mediocre, you can't help but get excited with them.

I just saw the Halo 3 trailer, it is easily one of the best looking games graphically. Beating Gears of War, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Resistance: Fall of Man, the new Naughty Dog game. As a matter in fact it greatly rivals Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and the Final Fantasy XIII series.

Looks like Bungie did the thing that those MGS people did with MGS, meaning showing it in realtime with the lighting changes and stuff.

[UPDATE]: Shortly after Microsoft's presentation, we had an opportunity to get a close-up look at Halo 3 with Bungie representatives. We spoke with Brian Gerrard, one of Bungie's community managers, as well as TJ Cohen, the cinematics director. Cohen stated that the trailer was a good example of where Halo 3 is going, in terms of fiction. By that, he means that the story is epic in scale, but dark as well, and Bungie is going for a distinct mood, since Halo 3 will represent the end of the trilogy.

The Bungie representatives made it clear to us that the trailer was running in real-time on the Xbox 360. The trailer is set in the African desert, and it was taken from roughly a third of the way through the game. Cohen noted that the constant battling has taken its toll on Master Chief, and you can see that by the many scratches and gouges in his armor. The flashes of Cortana seen in the trailer fill you in on the state of her mind, and the Forerunner structure seen in the distance at the end of the trailer represents a pivotal point in the story.

We next met with Marcus Lehto, Bungie's art director, who filled us in on the technology as he gave us a fly through of the locations in the trailer. The crater seen in the trailer is three miles across, and it's all rendered in real geometry. Halo 3 has a new global lighting system that now lights everything uniquely from the same source, which explains just how that setting sun looked that good as it illuminated everything in the trailer. Halo 2, on the other hand, used a lighting system that lit everything separately. Meanwhile, parallax mapping is able to give depth to structures in the distance, such as the clouds above the crater. A new particle system offers different levels of light diffusion to take the quality of the atmosphere into account, and that makes for different layers of light.

The demo shifted away from the crater to the part of the level you see the Master Chief walking in from. He was controllable, which means that the trailer indicates just how good the game will look. Lehto was able to zoom in on the Master Chief with the camera, and you could see the many different ways light reflected objects onto him. For example, you could see light reflect off the ground and onto his armor. A new materials system shows the difference between his armor and the rubber undersuit. It's so detailed that if you bring the camera close to the Master Chief's visor, you see everything in front of him reflected in it, right down to the ammo counter in his rifle.

It goes without saying that Halo 3 looks really impressive. We'll have to wait to learn more, but we'll keep you up to date with any developments.

watching Morgan Webb play Too Human last night... it really didn't look that good at all. and the 'new, innovative camera system' they kept talking about has been done before, in 'Path of Neo'. The backgrounds looked nice enough, but the characters and animations looked pretty damn sub par.

i know the game isn't complete yet, but what's the point of showing it off when it looks that bad?

I downloaded the Lost Planet demo from Xbox Live. I played only 5mins but I really liked it. Its great!

The gattling gun in the Lost Planet demo is a blast and works great on those flying Akrid alien things.
