When she gets free, I'm thinking it'll be the X-men who do the rescuing. They assault Sinister's Antarctica base in #205 after all.
Speaking of which, I was hoping being in Antarctica again would actually get Gambit a bit more pissed at the X-men, not end up making him even more whipped than his lame as hell return after #350.
I want to know how Gambit fits into the battle in 205...
I mean, they're making it quite obvious he's not game to kill any of the X-Men... so how does he handle himself in a fight with the entire team?

You could see his coat in that scan of #205 that got posted a few weeks ago. It looked like he was fighting Logan near the middle of the splash page.

Or it was Scrambler's coat, which is a little more likely, since the pic you posted had the coat colored a little too green.

Well Carey confirmed that Rogue will definitely evolve during these issues, saying "Rogue will be in a completely different place by issue # 207". And he also confirmed she'll be involved in Messiah Complex. As far as Gambit? Why wouldn't he free Rogue? He saved Sam from getting killed.:word:
Or by "in a completely different place" he meant "in the land of the dead". :p She IS in the pic of characters who have a chance to die. ;)

That, and I feel like Wolverine would likely single Gambit out in a battle if he thought Gambit was a "traitor" or something to that effect.

I prefer to believe Gambit is about to bite Rogue's nose.:oldrazz:
Because that makes soo much sense.
(Gambit can bite my nose anytime.)
In preparation for his twisted 'baby eating' agenda later on? :D
...well, of course.
Gambit makes baby-eating look good.
Or maybe to bring Rogue out of her coma.
Gambit: Hmmm. *chomp*
Rogue: *bolts upright* MOTHER*****ER!!!
...WTF? LOLZ. I wants to see that.
I think those pages with Rogue & Gambit are misleading. I think it's meant to make Canmacar mad on purpose because of all the recent Romy hate. I am almost sure they will fight.:woot:
Oh and the art is beautiful!!
You have caught me out.
I hacked into the Marvel mainframe and altered those scenes.
Just to piss off CanCan.

Sam and Bobby gay lovers.
I hope not.
really.
I'm really getting tired of the (made up word here) Playametrofication of Males in comics.
"Real men" as in males who have male traits that are based on gender and not on the wimpification (somewhat made up - i've seen it in print.) of men as women would want to read them,
(A man sees a woman and EVERYTIME he first notices her non physical positive qualities - then when she's ready to see him that way - he has a controlled lust for her?)
Are being replaced by touchy-feely guys who read like nine year olds in regards to women.
MEH.
Marvel,.. if you are reading this PLEASE DON'T PAIR THESE TWO UP AS A GAY COUPLE.

Disclaimer: ALL MY OPINION - do not put this on any other male just for being a MAN.
Now (cheerfully):
Playametrofication = Playa + Metrosexual. A Playa is all about him,.. wants not needs, any port in a storm sort of loser who takes advantage of others BECAUSE HE CAN.
Metrosexual is as close to "null-gender" as a male can get and still have the urge to have sex with sumbody. they seem to share more female traits than male AS A MATTER OF CHOICE.
Wimpification = this downturn in society where it's okay to not TRY, It's okay to not "play to win" because we don't want to hurt anybodies feelings by having them come in second place. Men in America are being raised not to compete.
Women in groups "claim" they want a man with an obvious sensitive side - they want it JUST like I described it - reread the words in the same sentence with "Wimpification".
"Are being replaced by touchy-feely guys who read like nine year olds in regards to women."
CLARIFICATION - MALES are expected to be at the "I like you,.. do you like me?" stage of male-female interaction to give girls the warm and fuzzies. (Around nine years old.)
You read all these "hard" females in comics and their opposites.(males)
THE MEN are starting to be written as "weak", "no real will", lil boys looking for the approval of bad girls,... OR turning suddenly with no prior provocation to homosexuality.
Frankly I don't like it.
Now you need to fuss,....................... Bring it.

No.
I say often that I see trends in comics.
Right now there are only "two" non disfunctional hetro relationships in both Marvel and DC each.
ALL THE REST OF THEM are either nightmares or headed that way because of lazy writing in my view.
(based on the mess i put in my last post.)
Yet,...............................
ALL THE HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS are functional with ANY heat coming ONLY from the outside.
And as time goes on,... the number has been steadly increasing on the gay side while the straight side remains conflicted, damaged and almost too much trouble.
NOW we have two (up to this point) Straight heroes making "goo goo eyes" at each other as if the X-men really really need a gay couple in their ranks?
I'm pretty sure one of them won't become all powerfull and try to take out the planet, cyclops/phoenix
or
switch bodies/sides/ powers so often that they can't stay in the relationship. so often that we don't know what's up with them psyloc/angel
or
Die
colossus / shadowcat
Megan / Capt Britain
Moria mctaggert / Banshee
Sync / M / Jubilee
So far in Marvel the homosexuals will have a nice lil stable relationship with each other as they save the world and stand shoulder to shoulder against folk who don't approve of their life - choice, having NONE of the BS that the hetro couples go through.
I'm wishing that gambit and rogue would settle down,... Emma grow up and Scott loosen up, bring back Cecila Reyes and have Hank Sweep her off her feet, let Peter and Kitty have some real happiness instead of the shots between world threats,
Stop creating and destroying hetro couples for story fodder.
And definetly,... seriously not create yet another "perfect" gay couple.
Meh.

Okay,...
I am saying that.
In this case,.... Men are written as boys,... weak ones, women are written as tough and capable, Males and females can't get together in a long term relationship that works, (With Exception of The Richards they self destruct.) Gays are written as having NO issues or drama within their relationships,...
Homosexual relationships are being lifted up, perfect affairs that can only be sullied if the outside world doesn't accept them w/o reservation,...
Hetrosexual relationships are dragged thru the mud and written as never a good thing in the longrun.
Look at the Marvel list ALONE.
How many Stable child rearing couples? TWO.
(Fantastic four / InHumans)
How many stable married couples w/o kids? NONE.
(Panther / Storm and Spiderman / MJ apparently headed for breakup.)
How many stable Single hetro couples? Relative,... six if you ignore nonpowered couples in the MU, and two headed for self destruct..
I'm even including the off again on again thing with Iron Fist and Misty Knight.
How many stable Homosexual pairings? ALL OF THEM.
Men and women are written in comics as not able to get along.
Same sex are ALWAYS shown as DRAMA FREE.
My frustration of being unable to point at more than one hetro couple and say "thats the way you do it" has me more than irritated everytime they intro yet another perfect Gay couple.
GEE,... MoonDragon,.. the most Abrasive, stuck up, combative superhero ever settles right down into a loving relationship with the current Quasar/Captain Marvel.
go figure.

Carey has totally derrailed her character away from what I want and like. I'm sure I'll get thrashed for this but am I the only one who wants Rogue to be a little bit more violent. Not in a Wolverine-esque kind of way, but more like her own momma Mystique :woot:

Carey says he aims to please Rogue fans and I'm sure there is still something very important in store for her, but I'm growing impatient. I hope that # 204 will shed some more light on her a bit. Not just the Romy situation, but more than that. I want to see what she'll say to Mystique, after being almost sure that she was going to betray her. I'm also very curious as to what will come of the team. With only Bobby, Sam, and a wounded Rogue left of the team, I'd like to be able to atleast hint who might be joining the roster. Did Carey ever mention hints of a future lineup? I wouldn't mind Husk, M, The Twins, or even Angel to join the lineup.

Yes, it is rather clear that Gambit is not included in the list of "bad second chanced people".

Well there was that debate about whether or not Emma "pushed" him to do it mentally...
And I do find it odd that Cyke wouldn't specifically bring Gambit up as a traitor in his rant, seeing as how the X-Men as a whole are supposed to have just found out about him being a Marauder.

I don't think that would be much better than the established reasons. He just goes from being a fool to a tool. I'd prefer it if they just had Gambit agree to do it of his own will with Emma setting it up with him.
And I do find it odd that Cyke wouldn't specifically bring Gambit up as a traitor in his rant, seeing as how the X-Men as a whole are supposed to have just found out about him being a Marauder.

The Marauders? Eh. Not so much. And the team's relationship with Sunfire has always been odd.

You know what, here's one last thought about Scott/Emma sending Remy as a double-agent before logging off.
I'm all for Cyke/Emma not appearing to be complete idiots, but exactly *how* would they reach the conclusion that sending off Remy would be a good idea? This isn't quite in the same league as, say, decoy diaries.
Just, what, they figured Sins hadn't been active in a while and wanted to draw him out? Cause he'd obviously go rescue his gorgeous little cajun f**k toy? :D

It'd be real complicated to pull of or explain, really. Especially considering the whole point of the last arc was to show that the X Men had NO clue as to what was happening, unless it goes down as a "Plan gone wrong" or something.
But using Gambit as bait to pull Sinister out would be pretty funny.

Trust me, if they play that card they'd be stretching it a long ass way...
'Course, with the ability to retcon, Marvel could probably come up with something that at least made a teeny, tiny bit of sense. Even if we don't like it.

Well, maybe they can finally use it as a reason for Gambit going off to join Apocalypse; Emma and/or Scott planned it. He just happened to then stumble across Sinister or something and stayed away.

Gambit: So, you deliberately sent me to join Apocalypse?! Do you have any idea those things Apocalypse made me to do? Look at that leather costume!
Cyclops: Well, I had to find a way to pay you back for stealing my uniform and getting cigerette stench all over it. Dry cleaning isn't cheap.
Gambit: Then how come I end up being with Sinister? You planned that too?
Cyclops: No, I have no idea that he had the cosmetic surgery done and chose to come out and surprise you now.

Aww, beat me to the stolen costume joke.
Emma: Darling, we have to do something about this nonsense between the southerner maniac and the cajun snake.
Scott: *sigh* You think I don't know that? The second I try talking some sense into Rogue, I become the insensitive a$$hole and the only option with Remy would be... No, wait. The only option for both would br to beat sense into them.
Emma: We *could* send the cajun away. He wouldn't get the sympathy vote like his maniac girlfriend would.
Scott: ...I'm listening. What are we talking about here?
Emma: Brainwashing him into defecting.
Scott: And then what?
Emma: Can't quite be bothered to care about that part, darling.

Sinister and Exodus are both breathing down the necks of the X-Men with the clock counting down to the fall mega-event Messiah Complex. This week’s X-Men #204 sets the stage as “Endangered Species” careens toward a halt. Writer Mike Carey fielded six big questions about what’s going on in his X-books, as Marvel offers an exclusive glimpse of what will take place.
WIZARD: The story for issue #204 is titled as an epilogue. What’s going to be ending, and are the events in the story going to be setting any sort of tone for things to come?
CAREY: It’s an epilogue to the “Blinded By the Light” story arc, most obviously, but in another sense it’s an epilogue to everything we’ve been doing since “Supernovas.” Rogue’s team is in terminal disarray, the X-Men are reeling from the events of the past few days, and we all know something really big is about to hit the fan. So we take the opportunity to play out some of the emotional beats arising from the intense action of recent issues, touching base with Iceman, Cannonball, Cyclops, Rogue, Gambit, Mystique, Sinister and others. And yeah, it’s a prologue as well as an epilogue, because it ends with a very significant event which feeds straight into Ed’s Messiah Complex one-shot.
Who is a bigger threat right now, the Marauders or the Acolytes? And how do their plights compare to each other right now?
CAREY: Well, the scariest thing is that these two groups—each formidable in itself—have managed to join forces despite the different perspectives of their leaders and their not entirely compatible agendas. Are the Marauders or the Acolytes the bigger threat? Hard to say, but if I had to call it I’d say the Marauders: Exodus has more raw power, but Sinister is the deeper schemer, harder to read and harder to reason with. You just know that in his mind, everyone and everything is potentially expendable. There’s no safety net with this guy. And the Marauders now have Mystique in their ranks. Can you think of any female character in the X-verse who’d be more formidable or more terrifying to go up against? I can’t.
What is Blindfold’s status now? Is she totally healed and in the clear?
CAREY: She’s stable, and she’s no longer in any danger as far as her physical condition is concerned. She knew what she was doing, and although she cut it as close as it could be cut, she survived. There are a number of Blindfold beats in this issue, and again we see her looking forward to what’s about to happen. For more of Ruth’s own story, though, you’ll have to wait until next year: There are some major revelations in store there.
When are we going to find out what she woke up screaming about?
CAREY: Very soon. In fact, on Oct. 31...
Have we seen the last of Dark Beast in the “Endangered Species” storyline, or will he be showing up again in Chapter 17? If not, does he still have a role to play as things unfold?
CAREY: Dark Beast isn’t going to be playing any further role either in “Endangered Species” or in Messiah Complex. But you can bet we didn’t bring him in just for the sake of this one story: He’s back in play, and he’s got ideas of his own arising out of the little journey of discovery he’s just been on. Look to see the Doc in a major X-book in 2008.
How about Mystique and Iceman? After she spared his life with a sharp threat in #203, are the two of them going to be able to avoid one another with everything going on at the moment?
CAREY: No comment. But again, the way that relationship played out has left a number of things hanging. Mystique in particular showed an unaccustomed vulnerability at the moment when she was seeing the fulfillment of some very long-term schemes. The unfinished business will be finished, but I can’t say when or where.

It's not that. Though I'm sure some of them don't like him because he reminds them of the alpha males who bullied them and got the girls in high school.
The reason most guys don't like Gambit is that he's been made to appeal more to women than guys and men an women like very different things. Pretty boy looks, faux-bad boy persona, super-ridiculous devotion to a woman, giving up sex for her, etc. Guys don't like all that stuff.

If you don't like it, just ignore it. Skip the post when you see that username. Do what you have to do.
But don't resort to ridiculous insults that imply that you're a better person than Outcry or something. It's a damn internet message board. Let **** go.
This is the funny part:
I'm not even looking at who's posting it until they get up on a high horse for sumbody not laughing along.
Take a second and read the entire thing again - I commented on the patent double standard here on SuperHeroHype,.. you can see post after post on here that are downright graphic as far as homosexual behavior and it's getting old.
Someone commented and I expanded on it.
Your hero came back with a warning that was uncalled for and ended it with something I know to be untrue.
Right now I have lil kids, teens and Parents w/their kids coming in and starting them on comic collections.
.
COMICS.
.
Two years ago in addition to pointing them to the Marvel / DC / and Antarctic press websites,.. I would also point them to SuperHeroHype to put them with folk who are interested in the same thing,.. COMICS.
.
Two years ago,.. you would have to look hard to find this level of crudity on the comic boards - There were other parts of the hype that had it,.. but not on a board with INNOCENT convo on what was next in the X-men.
.
I'm happy for you that because you enjoy this brand of humor that you can put the fact that is offensive all on me because I have a glaring reason why I can't point computer savy kids here and don't like it.
.
I realize that I am seen in the wrong because I can imagine a child asking a parent why an X-man would need a dental dam in their behind?
.
I was ready to drop this at the moment he told me who reads comics and that I should drop it "or else".
.
Yeah,.. that was mature too.
.
Well thank you for your response. Instead of pointing it out here in the hope that MAYBE there would be folk (read children) who would be coming here to talk comics and not get hit with what I'm typing about,.. I'll just continue to steer them to websites with more control over what people consider humor.
After all - this is "THE OFFICIAL X-MEN Discussion Thread" Talk about a blindside,.....

Yeah, seriously.
I said DERAIL the thread, not cause the thread to crash and burn.
Big difference.
(Though on a side note, CanCan and my dalliance at the top of this page is in fact mocking my heterosexuality.)

Hey, it wasn't out idea to start this feud.
And please, you really think you'll have that much to say about #204?
Cause we can't see the "OMG, Rogue just wake up yet" complaining coming miles away. :D
