Man, Routh looks completely ripped in a lot of those shots. There were so many better choices for their first "official" picture of Routh as Superman that they could have chosen.

You know, after looking at these other shots, Im very inclined to agree. I have seen at least 4 other shots that were ALOT more suitible, especially the "Atlas Pose" one. That by all rights should've been the first picture WB released.

I've criticized the Super-suit aplenty over the past year, but the more varied shots I see, the better it looks. I still have my basic gripes about it, but I am more hopeful. You can really make out the faux ribcage/muscle padding in some of those shots. The fake shoulders don't look so bad tho'. But DANG IT, the low-slung manties really bite. I'm getting more used to the neckline and cape attachment.

If they would've only used the same tone from the cape's inside on the outside, \S/, trunks and boots, I would've accepted the new suit 100%. Instead I give it a 90%

Funny, some of these card photos look like they were taken at the same time as the first official picture, yet they make Routh and the suit look much better than the one released. If this one had been the first official pic, for instance, I doubt the suit would have been as massacrated as it initially was.

Damn! I read the cards and i`ve been spoiled a lot. I still don`t like how Lex gets his money. It would be so much better if in this movie he was adored by the people because he helped rebuilt the city from the destruction of Zod and company. He would still be a criminal, acting unknown and using kryptonian technollogy to make weapons and stuff. But i should see how its played in the movie. But i still think i`ll love Spacey as Lex but its just not my favorite version of Lex.

But i think this will be a great cinematic version of Lex, probably the best.

You see the thing about Jor-el giving superman temporary powers is that it kinda looks like what happened in superman 2,with him giving supes his powers back or whatever he did. I know that Singer is using a lot of the STM elements but like naite said I think superman should recover just in time for the EK and the rise of NK nad then after he saves the city and destroys NK then the movie ends.But maybe singer wants to play it in a different way and go a bit more towards the sentimental dramatic side, and have everyone mourning and crying for supes as he struggles in the bed of a hospital. I just hope that he isn't saved by the love of the people of metropolis and by the love of lois if you know what I mean.

Yeah, now this is exactly what I thought after reading this.

This is just bad story structure, and it's bee done in other movies. It just doesn't work well.

The same with the kid aspect, it just, in no way, works fo the START of a new franchise (re-start). These are the big two aspects of this film that I think may very well kill it. Everything else sounds great (granted most is taken from STM ;) just kidding.

I loved the whole returning premis and all, but I am still truely hoping that these two aspects are not going to play out like they seem to be destined to do.

I bought a box of cards Saturday....I got 2 memoralbilia cards.....one was a piece of Kitty's dress.....the other was a piece of the blue section of Superman's suit.

Certain special ones are. In recent years, the card companies have been coming up with several different ways to increase sales. A lot of cards that deal with movies or TV shows have been inserting autographed cards randomly in packs (I have picked up many autographs this way)....recently they have come up with making cards that have a piece of the clothing used for different characters in the movies (I have found in addition to the Superman ones I just got....a piece of Daredevil's costume, and piece of Christopher Lee's robe from Lord of the Rings).
