Frenzy is no where to be found in this clip. If you watch closely near the end there is a Tech Spec that moves behind the white 'cassette' robot that has the name Laser on it.

Meet the insecticons.

When they transformed them in the commercials it was so smooth, you heard clicks, and their guns just slid easily into their hands.

When you transformed them in real life it took like 10 mins the first time, you wound up almost breaking them, and you got so pissed off sometimes that you either gave up or wound up forcing them to transform thereby wearing out the toy too soon.

That's waaaayy to heady for some of the dolts Bay is aiming this movie at (including some of the Defenders here).

That was one of the aspects of Transformers I was most looking forward to in a live action movie. But, I can see why Bay didn't think he could pull it off. Sorta like Emmerich didn't think he could pull off a nuke blast from Godzilla. They're going for realism!!!... lol. :rolleyes:

I don't think it's a stand -in. The tow truck can also be seen here in the Mock up in front of Bumblebee. I haven't read the script but could some humans be driving away. If there were gona use a stand in car to make the others explode i think they would u se a truck made for that not just an old tow truck.

In more than one interview about WOTW he alluded to wanting to make a movie that was NOT Armageddon and ID4 crap.... kinda sorta dissing those movies and their cheap cartoony take on disaster and death. I hope he tries to keep that same philosophy with TF. I may not have loved WOTW, but I appreciated his effort.

After having watched Munich- with his brilliant, 1970's Drama style filming of that movie- I am fully convinced that Steven Spielberg is more than a director or filmmaker. He's a bona fide genius. The problem is that he makes me despise Michael Bay more.

That was pretty sweet. I agree w/Spark about the "feel" of the trailer. Its just doesn't bring forth the nostalgia like Jester's does. It IS very much so like your average "Matrix" like movie though. That's what it felt like more to me...Matrix with 1 part Terminator/T2 and 2 parts I, Robot. I hope Transformers has a more unique feel to it. When the Transformers teaser/trailer comes out and you can substitute parts of The Island, Bad Boys/Bad Boys II, Armageddon and other Bay movies in it and not tell the differnence...then call me Mr Underwhelmed.

Huh? Nothing in production? It looks EXACTLY like a modern, albeit beat-up, Freightliner Argosy. I'm not even sure if I'd say it's been modded or tricked up.... which you know- with the flames- you can't say about the movie version.

I've never ever seen a truck like one in the movie on the highway. And I spent the better part of 4 years (college) driving voraciously in the industrial corridor in the Northeast (PA/NJ/NY). If I saw one, I'd remember cuz I would have laughed.

Remove the fuel-tank cover and the top wind spoiler... it's the SAME truck. Fine... a modded and somewhat not-2007 version of it (the above is modern).

besides peterbilts are really excellent looking trucks, and a very suiting alt.mode for a transformer. i think it's perfect for prime, i'm not a big fan of the flames (i don't hate em), but the truck mode in itself is fine.
