well before you do anything, you need a definitive script.

EBAY! get everything on ebay. and heres a list:
1. Canon xl-1 camera (doesnt have to be canon, but they are damn good)
2. light kit (natural lighting is ok, but can suck too, dont chance it)
3. tripod
4. final cut pro 4.0 or higher (best editing software i know)
5. fire wire and or dv deck (to upload yer tapes from the camera with out ruining the camera)
6. dvd studio pro 3 or higher (to make an awesome dvd)
also, ever consider hiring a professional freelance film maker? i know a good one *wink*

Digital cameras still use a tape. And if you don't know that it means you have never made a film. And if you have never made a film than you need to read up.

all digital cameras use DV tapes to film on. if you dont know much about cameras and filming, i highly reccomend just bitting the bullet and hiring a cinematographer. they will shoot yer movie how ever you want. i also reccomend a cinemtographer familiar with comics. its just easier when you want to explain what it is that yer shooting.

Script, script, script, and more script.
F*** the camera, f*** the lighting, f*** the computer. You start with your story, and the rest will follow.
If your story/script is one that everyone will want to be a part of, all that other crap will fall into your lap.
