Simple poll. Who should the first Green Lantern film focus on? A lot of people have debated this, but I've never seen an actual poll.

My choice is Hal Jordan. He's both my favorite, and the most logical for a feature film that introduces people to the universe.

Hal, without question. With Sinestro being the main villain, but first having him mentor Hal into becoming a Lantern. After is when a lot from the comics shoud be used to bring on their rivalry, such as Sinestro betraying the Corps while growing jealous over him. As well as donning his own yellow ring instead of green, considering most of the Lantern's are helpless when it comes to their oppenents who wear it. A lot have overcome it in the past, like Hal of course.

For a possible love interest, perhaps Carol Ferris. Hal used to work in Coast City at Ferris Aircraft, where he was a test pilot, and she was the company's manager. The two fell in love eventually when she hired him, and embraced how fearless he was when in the sky. Having her in the film, could probably even set her up as Star Sapphire in a sequel.

Hal Jordan obviously.

But I would also love to see Alan Scott on film. Maybe as a mini series. Or even a fanfilm. I just love the old golden age look and the flame-look to his constructs.

I voted for Hal in the first movie hoping that it will be a trilogy set, if not then my vote would be for Kyle.

I would like to have Hal Jordan in the first movie in a GL trilogy.
The I would bring in Kyle in the second and the rest of the Corps in the third one.

Kyle Rayner.....better character in my opinion. Hal is just so one-dimensional.

How Hal Boredan gets so much vote is beyond me. I guess its the same voters who think the Phoenix can beat Superman Prime. *yawn* Green Lantern wasn't even a "character" until Kyle came along. Prior to that, it was just a guy with a ring. Gardner was only slightly interesting if only for the 'tude.

Hal in the first film... and in the second... and in the third.

It'd be nice to see Alan Scott, Guy Gardner, and John Stewart in supporting parts at some stage in the sequels.

Of course Hal Jordan should be the main focus. All the other lanterns should be in the movie aswell.

The rise and fall and rebirth of Hal Jordan would make for an awesome trilogy. With all the intergalactic stuff going on this should be right up there with Star Wars. I just hope they dont screw it up.

Chalk up another one for Hal. I don't mind seeing some of the other guys later one, but the first simply has to be Jordan...

Hal Jordan. I still have my Hal Jordan/Green Latern action figure I got when I was in grade 1. I'm very proud of it.

Does anyone remember a year or 2 ago when there was news that someone had proposed a big GL Corps trilogy? It was just before that rumor spread that they were making GL with Jack Black (UGHHH!!). I just wondered if there was a script or anything. What I read of it sounded awesome!

Wasn't that attached with the rumor of Ben Browder, possibly being interested in the role of Green Lantern? That was about two years ago as well, and hasn't been brought up again since.

An all out cast of GL's should start at the first movie. There is no reason for it not to. They need to show what being a GL is all about. That means going to Oa, showing the guardians, and a bunch of the other GL's. It should not be just some movie about Hal, Kyle or whoever just saving the day from some random bad guy.

The route they should take, IMO, is focus on only one human Green Lantern in the first film, which should be Hal Jordan. Then if there are sequels, they can gradually introduce the others.

Hal Jordan and here is the guy who should play him.....

George Eads from CSI

And if you want to have Alan Scott make an appearance.... Dennis Quaid.

i voted for Hal.

However, my idea would be for him to be the main lead....with support from Kyle Raynor and John Stewart in smaller roles. Carol Ferris should be used.

I think it should be a story showing Hal wanting out of the Corp.....and then helping prepare his successor in Kyle Rayner. However tragedy strikes with Sinestro being involved and ruining Hal's retirement and marriage to Carol.

I dont see why we just can't have a Green Lantern film that stars Kyle Rayner, shows him getting his ring, getting trained by John Stewert (who will have the second most screen time) and their mission is to find Hal Jordan. Have flash backs that show Hal in action, and make him be Paralax. Second film i guess make him the Spectre, then by the third, make him "reborn" or whatever.

i go with Hal all the way...and like most ppl, i'd love to see part of the Corps as well...

Green Lantern / Hal Jordan: Nathan Fillion (Serenity / Slithers)

Green Lantern / John Stewart: Henry Simmons

Green Lantern / Kyle Rayner: Jesse Bradford

Green Lantern / Alan Scott: Robert Redford

Sinestro: Jeremy Irons or Hugo Weaving ( i'll go with Hugo Weaving )

Quiet with all that logical compromise! No one wants to hear that! ( :) )

Hal Jordan and Abin Sur ought to be the only Green Lanterns you see in the first film.

No way, you can't leave out the Corps. Green Lantern is a totally different type of hero than Batman and Superman. He's not some lone hero fighting random villains that pop up. He's part of a huge, intergalactic police force. The Corps are a big part of who he is. You have to have his training by Kilowog and Sinestro, and you have to show Oa. Green Lantern films should be epic space operas, like Star Wars.

Couldn't really vote because my suggestion would be to focus on Hal, but to include everyone in some capacity. Don't know that it could be worked out to stay exactly on course with comic mythology, but it seems comic to film movies have made minor changes without too much complaint if the story is good. Alan as an older Lantern mentoring perhaps being an example. Fitting the others, the guardians, and the rest of the corps accordingly. Probably best suited in a trilogy. With Sinestro probably the main baddy, with Star Saphire a love interest/side baddy for Hal.

On one of the threads...someone mentioned Jack Black as possibly filling the role of Green Lantern. Is this true? What's next? Kate Beckinsale as Lobo?

I'm a huge Alan Scott fan because of JSA. But I think Hal should be in the spotlight of the film.

That seems a lot to deal with, especially if you are going for mass appeal.
I'm not a huge GL fan but could have Hal for the first one, disappearing at the end, in the Second one the introduction of Kyle and Jon in search of Hal and finding Paralax. The 3rd one return of Hal something to that effect, where the trilogy is a little more self contained, and easier to follow then with flashbacks.
