Yeah, I'm sure I'll get flamed for this because SHH is full of pricks that do that.

But let's say hypothetically there's gonna be a Green Lantern Movie (I doubt it'll happen for a couple years) what would we want in it if they stayed true to the comics. That and the movie is a Hal Jordan one.

I think Emerald Dawn I & II can provide all the story you need.

You have Hal's origin w/ Abin Sur, basic GL training by Kilowog on Oa, being assigned to secondary training with Sinestro, meanwhile Legion is wreaking havoc across the galaxy, the plot thickens when Hal discovers that Sinestro is a tyrannical dictator on his homeworld, meanwhile the other GLs are being killed off by Legion, and a little bit-'o-plot later we find that the whole legion thing is part of a major power grab by Sinestro who has some deal worked out with the Qwardians. Sinestro disappears at some point to come back wearing his yellow power ring with Legion at his heel ready to destroy Oa and the Corps...so Hal & the remaining GLs have to take him down.

Just a rough shot. Whaddya think?

I like it. However, i'd tell the story starting from the middle and use flashbacks for the origin. Basically, it would start out with Hal having just gotten his start as a Lantern, then provide small flashbacks here and there to his origin (Abin Sur, training by Kilowag and Sinestro, etc). From there it would carry on to the reveal about Sinestro and the final confrontation about such.
