View Full Version : Bat-Vehicle you want to see in the sequel.

I know this thread has been done already but i can't find it. I just wanted to know what everyone thinks a suitable vehicle, beside the Tumbler, would be cool to see in the sequel.
Personally, i would want to see a motorcycle. I think a boat would look a little corny....

I see no real reason for a Bat-Jet if you are going to stay in Gotham City - a Bat-Copter would be a smart choice IMO.

I love that Batmobile, except for the phallis looking thing on the front of it. That is the only thing I never liked about the B89 Batmobile.
It should have the armor thing, like in Returns, too.

Tell me you're joking, please. Next you're going to want the Joker to have that pistol with a 3 foot barrel that takes it down in one shot.
And whatever vehicle he has, I think it should have giant Bat-Nipples, just for good measure.

A boat would be a nice realistic fit for Nolan's Batman. Gotham is on the water of course and has little canals within the city. It would actually be a faster way to get to Gotham when you think about it........

The car was made using air plane engine propeller parts. The front 'Exhaust' and that cylinder are the propeller mounts. Imagine the propeller behind the cylinder on a plane....
And as much as I love the Tumbler...I will always have a place in my heart for the keaton car.
Begins sequel...love to see a motorcycle in the spirit of the Tumbler...but a boat would be more practical and make more sense.

I agree as well, it would also be the most plausible too. The only other two vehicles that would fit in Nolan's vision in Batman is a Tumbler style
Batcycle and a small sleek and fast Batboat/sub for underwater infiltration.

Man: "what street is he taking?"
Officer: "He is not on the street, he's flying on the roottop"
EDIT I like to see minor stuff on the Tumbler.
It'de be cool if Batman realised he needed a high speed vehicle and turned his Lamborghini into a Batmobile

That Lambo R-GT is sick.
I like the idea of a motorcycle in the comics, but in the film you would be forced to deal with the physics of the cape. I just don't think it would look as cool. Either he'd be forced to sit on the cape, or it would be flapping around in the air and creating a huge liability.

BatMatt
06-04-2006, 01:16 PM
Wise, the tumbler is a high speed vehicle
Sure it's high speed. But what happens when batman has to take corners??? The Tumbler couldn't take an interstate turnoff at more than 60mph without rolling over.
Why would it roll over? For it's height, it is also very wide and should have no trouble with taking corners, since it also has individual brakes on the left and right.
The Burton-mobile was impossible to turn.
Did you see the body roll in that thing when they were testing it in the warehouse? I like the TUmbler and all but it has a snowball's chance in hell of outperforming an R-GT in straightline or cornering. What happens if batman needs to chase some perp who's stolen a Porsche the tumbler had trouble gaining ground on the cop cars.
The TUmblr is good for jumping and smashing through walls but it's not as fast as you think.

It is a ****ing cool tank-car-thing.
Bat-cycle's what he should get from Morgan next. It should have rocket boosters on the tail end and when he spreads his magnetic cape wings, and uses the rockets, he'd fly. Kill two birds and all that.
If the Bat Cycle was going to make an appearance I think it should look similar to the Akira bike or the Command and COnquer Recon Bike.

Still, the advantages of the Tumbler outweight that of a sleek sports car. It may not be as fast or take turns as well, but it's pretty close. The Tumbler is far more durable, did you see it smashing through walls and gates? Not to mention it's ability to jump without a ramp. So I think Batman would be willing to lose a tiny bit of speed in exchange for a badass indestructable tank.

I just can't imagine Batman in a helicopter. I think it would look awful, and I don't think it suits Batman's method of operation. If there is a flying Bat vehicle, I hope they just stick with the Batwing. But I guess I'm ok with what Nolan decides; I just hope Fox doesn't supply him with all of Batman's of gadgets.

The boat seem the only logical choice in my mind. The Batwing would be nostalgic but again, impractical. And a motorcycle seems the most useless to me. Under what circumstances would Batman ever choose to take the bike onto the streets of Gotham over the Tumbler?
I know that if they made more vehicles, they would be far superior to the past designs . . . but again; I'd like them to show more cool Batcave **** . . . like his computer, and other detective devices . . . I guess a boat/submarine would be cool, but then they'd have to explain how he gets the boat into the lake/river/body of water . . . and there'd have to be a practical, believable way of him using it
the main thing is, I don't want him to just have this **** laying around unless he knows that he has to use it for something specific . . .

if the tumbler's out of gas or something like that. It's more economical transportation, I say. Leave the tumbler for long trips or something like that. It's easier to get around the city on a bike and chicks dig bikes.

Well, a helicopter just wouldn't work - not in Nolan's world. Too bulky and not "stealthy" enough. Spare the silent mode and cloaking device crap, it still wouldn't work.
Go with the boat if there's a second vehicle. I did like the contraption Batman had in Batman Returns that traveled through the sewer system as well.

Did you draw that? If you did its a really nice picture and your tumbler influences work great within the chopper. I dont ever want to ever see Batman in a hellicopter though, its never seemed right to me
Katsuro
06-05-2006, 07:58 PM
A helicopter is too noisy for Batman, but it's a great design nonetheless. I could see him using a boat, and that's about it for now. A plane would be fitting further down the line, if Batman ever had to travel outside of Gotham for a later movie. Perhaps Ra's al Ghul returns, and he leaves Gotham to track him down or something. But when he's just in Gotham doing his thing, the car's really all he needs, and a boat might be useful but isn't neccissary.
Maybe Wayne Tech could have some type of 'competitor prototype' to the Commanche that never made it into production.
It's possible for a helicopter to have a 'silent running' mode where the sound waves produced by the engine and rotor blades are cancelled out, due to an artificial replicated soundwave produced and emmited which muffles the sound the vehicle makes by cancelling out the intermittent noise.

The old Batman 1989 batmobile, maybe slightly updated would be nice to see again. Couldn't change it too much though, that was near perfection. I'd rather not see the tumbler again but it'd be cool for them to change the cars up midway through the movie or something. But really, I love to see more grappling hook action from Bats. I know the people at WB are about the realism and whatnot, but Bats was one of the first to pioneer swinging from building to building. With great comic-like views and angles, I wouldn't care if the movie had nothing but that. Spider-Man parodies would start happening probably but it's all good. This 2nd movie supposed to be more authentic and more darker and more true to the comics than any Bat film before it. Let's keep the Bat gritty and see him more on the rooftops.
