Spike is Spike but now Sam is Spike so even though Spike is Sam we must call Spike Sam and Sam Spike so where is the logic.

And, his slapstick performance in The Shadow didn't help much.

Duly Noted.
I just don't want people to break out into song when they hear his voice in the movie... or when he blasts a poor little Autobot....
So you got caught with a flat... well, how about that?

Jesus Christ dude. I didn't "condemn" anybody.
I happen to be a big Rocky Horror Picture Show fan (see post above).... as are a gazillion people. It's a cult classic.... and his voice is every recognizable. That said, I love the guy and if he gets the role, more power to him!

He really did, i was thinkin just that as i was reading this thread.
But tim curry would be fine too, he does a lot of voice acting and he always does a good job. He's especially good in villain roles.

I say lay off CFlash, he's been doing really good about staying relatively positive or just plain objective about most of what he's been saying. I think you're doing great CFlash, I know how hard it is not to let your inner fanboy yell out how you truly feel.
That being said, I don't think Tim Curry would be the best Megatron. He does have an amazing talent for voice acting, but Megatron to me was never blatantly evil; simply put he was more like a subdued and ominous presence.
Now, who does have the appropriate tone for Megatron? I think that Leonard Nemoy or Ian McKellen could do a great job if they added mechanical effects to their voices to make them slightly darker. Either that or hire some old fart who's been smoking cigarrettes since he was 5. I'm good with either one.

I think Nimoy, with his raspy somewhat growling voice nowadays (what happened to him? does he smoke?) is perfect for the role. Especially, like you said, with the mechanical effects added to his voice. Man, that'd be awesome.

Casey Casum was Cliffjumper, not Windcharger.
And yes he is, but I doubt he'd ever do anything Transformers related again, since he quit working on Transformers cartoon cause of the rascist way the cartoon portrayed Middle Eastern countries...with it's Arabian Parody Country...Carbombia (Car Bomb ia). Since Casum is of Arabian decent.

Megatron is not Darth Vader.
Nimoy is a good second choice for Megatron after Welker. Neil Kaplan is a good 2nd choice for Optimus Prime after Peter Cullen. 3rd choice would be Gary Chalk.

Hugo Weaving did a magnificent job as V in V for Vendetta. Could easily hear him as one of the transformers.
Ian Mckellan and Morgan Freeman have powerfull voices, I would love to have them in the movie.
But most of all I hope they bring back most of the original voices.

The Storyline for Vector Prime is that he's one of the original 13 Transformers...made millions and millions of years ago. So with the age and wisdom factors...it could be very cool. *Remember Cybertron Storyline has nothing to do with G1*

I know most people here have a general hatred for young annoying actors and have lumped Shia LaBeouf into that category. I recently watched The Greatest Game Ever Played starring LeBeouf and his acting in that movie, while nothing truly dynamic like Maguire in Seabiscuit, was more than adequate enough to put him a step above a few of his peers. Its a decent movie that takes him out of the comedy realm into a more serious tone.

id rather shia than most kids who cant act for ****..........but thats not to say shia can act.I just hate it when he acts ghetto, i havent yet washed his performance in i,robot off my mind:(
but what about tyrese?:o :o
Shia can out act anyone his age, and quite a few in the next decade bracket, many of which make much more money than he does... and Voight personally mentors him, so he's guaranteed to be better than last time you saw him...
As for voices, I say keep Peter Cullen, cuz he can still pull it off and Optimus Prime is iconic in many ways... I would even say keep Chris Latta as Starscream... the rest of the voice actors have been out of work for a while, likely they had better things to do... I'm not sure about Frank Welker, while clearly the most experienced, I'm not sure his voice does it for a darker more adult Megatron... but hey, what the heck...
All the other vehicles should be replaceable, imho... of course, Tim Curry makes for a good replacement for Megs, since Welker's a bit older now... James Earl Jones would make an awesome Ironhide, whlie I'd love to hear Pearlman as Prowl. Dimaggio would be the ULTIMATE Starscream, and, well... yeah... I'd like to see some good things in the future...

Frank Welker can easily do about 3 or 4 different characters in the movie. They already have Cullen, and Frank has been in dozens of movies and cartoons for over 40 years now, so I see no reason why he can't be Megatron and a couple of others for the movie. The general audiences won't recognize their voices, so it's probably good that they're using B and C list actors in the movie as the human supporting characters and use professional unknown and known voice actors to bring out those other voices.
