Placeholder Name Speculation

i'm sure some of you know, but for the ones that don't...some of us think that the production team might be using temporary names for the vehicles maybe to hide exactly what's goin' on behind the scenes.

for instance...Iceburgeruk pointed out that a tank named "Devastator" has a fight late in the film. most of you know that Devistator from the cartoons is not a tank, but several transformers that combine into one big powerful transformer (much like Power Rangers...teehee!). a lot of you also know that Megatron was also interpreted as a tank. well...now there's a theory that Devistator the tank might really be Megatron the tank.

there's also a Mustang Police car that's supposed to be Brawl, but Brawl was a tank in the cartoons...so is Brawl really the police car or is Brawl the tank? or is Megatron the tank? or is Megatron the police car? or is Devistator the tank? etc, etc, etc...



anyway, i'm thinkin' Megatron is probably the tank (the only bad vehicle with a barrel) and Starscream is maybe the jet. do we know if Soundwave is gonna be in the movie?

Bad comparison.
The whole notion of Devastator was lifted directly from Voltron.
Power Rangers wasn't even a figment in anyone's mind at that time.

um.....k.....i know Voltron came first, but a lot of youngens don't know anout Voltron. Power Rangers was the first thing to come to my mind....big deal. move on and stick to the topic please...

I think...
"Vortex" is Soundwave.
"Soundwave" is a homage to G1 Soundwave but a different character.
"Brawl" is actually Runamuck or Dead End.
Scorponok will remain Scorponok.
"Devastator" is either going to be Megatron, but he might end up being Bludgeon or possibly Brawl.


However if the place holders turn out to NOT be real place holders but the actual characters...so be it. Could be lots worse.
