NBC has an official website up now, plus a long trailer that is supremely satisfying!
http://www.nbc.com/NBC_First_Look/Heroes/

The trailer offers a lot more information then the "Milo jumping off building" one and the "cheerleader jumping off railing" one. It's awesome!

what nights will this show be coming on?It'll be airing on Mondays, so that means I'll have to forgo "CSI: Miami", which, really, isn't that hard - considering they've turned Horatio into an elderly Captain Obvious who marries 24-year-old Latina girls who are dying of cancer.

It's only 30 minutes?

It's a full hour. 9-10.

Don't know why you thought 9-9:30. Looked at NBC webpage and it even has it listed 9-10. I can see why you might have got confused though. But, if you notice the show after it the pic appears at the 10- not at the 9-30. Also, I'm sure this has been confirmed elsewhere. 9-10.

Seems like what would happen if they Turned Rising Stars into a TV show. Look a hell of alot better than the last atemt to make a live action Team superhero Programe(Mutant x). Hope they will have More heroes and some villains showing up later in the series and hopefully some costumes.

HOLY FREAKING CRAP!!!!!

That was amazing!

This show is going to rock!I hope so - NBC's been failing miserably over the last couple of years, and so have their show choices - like Surface. I even read a review of their new show Windfall - and it's not good. Not good at all.

The Squirrel
06-08-2006, 05:39 PM
Yeah, Windfall looks like crap.

But the trailer for Heroes almost seems like an acutal movie.

Hopefully NBC will give it time to grow.

I wish it wasn't on Monday nights.

I don't think it will stand a chance against 24 when it starts in Jan.

wow all of that is from the pilot? it must be two hours long.

I must say i'm starting to be intrigued by this show. I first thought "meh, m. night shamalyma wannabes mixed with lost. *shrug*." but it actually looks to be an interesting drama if it's any good... or even great if the fx are nice too. I already like the yatta guy.

oh my stars and garters, just spill a few blacked out spoilers please...

Dang, somebody got the lucky straw!

:D

I think the preview looked pretty cool, and I especially like the part when the levitating dude (Peter P -- obviously this guy has powers, he has the whole duel letter thing going on) sees the painting by the guy who can predict the future... and how the painter cut off his hand.

Very cool stuff, though the voiceover might as well be taken word for word from X-Men.. the "next step in evolution"

Trouble is I wish another station had this show, NBC pretty much screw up alot of shows, look at Surface they won't renew it(from a mag I read says they won't) if it doesn't do good NBC probably leave us with a cliff hanger and no new shows :(

yeah i checked out the trailer yesterday and was very impressed. i will definitely check this out, but please, no costumes, it looks like they're trying to keep it realistic so if somebody ends up in tights i think i would be forced to cry or attempt a little flying lesson myself, off the nearest bridge... preferably a high one. villains, however, i think would be kinda cool, not the typical cornball villains though. if anything, just people that are given power like these guys except they choose to use the power for EVILE! :o

Fox is worse.Fox is actually getting a lot better - House, for example.

Also, the station that was notorious for cancelling "Firefly" and "Family Guy" kept the brilliant but abysmally rated "Arrested Development" on for THREE SEASONS. They had every reason to cancel it after season one, but they kept it going for three years, and that's pretty decently generous of them.

^ Prison Break and Bones have also helped Fox this last season. Hopefully it can get some good material on the schedule and keep those series for several seasons.

I just noticed that, "Yattah." Means, "I did it."Gets me in mind of that "Yatta" song with all the guys wearing leaves, which was pretty much the Japanese equivalent of the "YMCA" song.

I believe she's just 16/17 at this timeWHAT?? WHAT?? Actually casting an actual teenager to play a teenager, instead of some bummy-looking 27-year old (*cough*Tom Welling *cough* Benjamin MacKenzie*cough*)?

What a bizarre concept!

I do like her, though. Plus, this keeps her out of dreck like "Ice Princess" and might give her Buffy-cult-status.

Kinda like Smallville, I think the producers have a decided on a "no tights" policy. It's a drama about people dealing with developing superpowers, not instantly throwing some spandex on and calling themselves "The SuperBuddies".

oh yeah i kno man im just messing around.

i dont think anyone really likes seeing super heroes in tights anymore. But im betting if the show does get good rating and all..the fact that their like the few with powers and all makes the possibility of them meeting up or something likely with even more conflict.

i think the show does have to do somewhat with mutants based on the whole marvel mutant ideal. The show did say something about evolution kinda like marvel's idea. But who knows where they might go and even if the show does succeed.

I'm getting a distinct "Unbreakable" vibe coming off the show, mixed in with just a tinge of Rising Stars to me.

I hope they go Watchmen on us and embrace the source - get them in tights at some point when the ratings are bad.

Jack Bauer could beat Batman with enough prep time.

I don't want capes or tights in my opinion - it's been done before.

The trailer looked pretty cool. I'm a bit perplexed as to why every new iteration of a superhero team seems to recast the Wolverine archetype--the badass who's pretty much unkillable--as a young woman, though. The Asian kid seemed cool and I'm looking forward to Grunberg. I've enjoyed his performances in everything I've seen him in.

Anyone know what the premiere date is?

I'm actually hoping they don't make it too serious. We gotta have some laughs - all the best shows incorporate comedy into a generally serious premise. I'm not saying go all Buffy The Vampire Slayer-style funny, but stick some of it in, like they do on The Shield.
