Weapon X is too ambiguous, although it's the title I much perfer.

Wolverine will work perfect as an initial title. but if they begin to introduce the 'weapon x' idea in the first movie (maybe end it cliffhanger style w/him going through wx "transformation", people will know what's going on if the second one were to be called 'weapon x'. people aren't morons and the studios are too stupid to understand that.

I heard about this script, but it isn't complete yet. They're trying to figure out where to go with the story after wolverine stabs jesus in the crotch with his claws! (obviously jesus would have healing power as well so..)

You know they take in consideration the opinion of the regular average movie goer A LOT. and most of the regular movie goers are not that familiar with the Weapon X, yhea they heard about it in X2, but is thrugh this Wolverine spin off that they going to be familiar with it, most likely will be something Wolverine's name in it, Like "The Origin of Wolverine" or something in adition to his name cause it's true, Wolverine by itself sounds corny.

Right, that's why it'd work in a Wolverine SEQUEL! A sequel to the spinoff which is totally doable! If it were me I'd focus 1/3 or 1/2 the first one on an adaptation of Woverine: Origin, and then fill in the rest w/stuff like his involvement in WWI or WWII (they'll never do this!). Then, I'd tie it into Weapon X in at the end and focus a second Wolverine movie on Weapon X (the dark chapter of any trilogy). Then lead into the third one and have the bulk of it take place in Japan, leading directly into the original X-Men at the end.

...but what they'll really do is over-splash the movie(s) with too many mutants and special effects when the first one should be WAY more character-based!

oh yhea, well I know is the rule of thumb to sign actors for 3 movies, Hugh was signed for 3 wolverine movies, doesnt mean they will make 3, but considering the Magnitude of Wolverine's Character, they can make even more, Weapon X would definitely be a great name for a sequel

"Weapon X" has a good sound to me, but i wonder if anybody will quickly identify it as a Wolverine movie. Ad campaigns would be crucial to tie these spinoffs in with X-Men.

Id DOES have "X" in its title though and thats a definite plus. But which to go with.. Wolverine or Weapon x... hmm. Ill just see what they decide.

I think Wolverine will become a prequel trilogy, so my choice of names for the three movies would be:

1. Codename: Wolverine
2. Weapon X
3. Berserker Rage

I think the main villains should be Silver Samurai, Omega Red, & Sabretooth, respectively.

The general population probably didn't know who the X-Men were either, but they grew to know them through the movies. Besides, with the 'X' in the title, and Hugh Jackman with claws popping out of his knuckles in the trailers and posters, etc, I think people would get the idea that Weapon X is an X-Men spin-off. If it's a one-shot prequel, I agree, Weapon X is the best title.
