What Time Period, is Wolverine Taking Place?

As soon as I heard there would be a wolverine movie, I always thought to myself..What Time of year or scenery w.e, would ths movie take place in...Events that accure befor or after the whole X-Men Trilogy?

For me it would take place very early, but i think its gonna take place a few years before weapon x.

Ya, I wouldnt mind at all if they did the time period befor, or just getting into Weapon X, so that people realise His claws arnt his power. but not only that, but it would be cool seeing Logans operation. (lol I often hear, "wolverine has awesome powers he sticks claws out of his fist!") -_-

I think people realize that claws aren't his power- as each x-film comes out the rest become more popular.

Ideally, I would love to see this follow X3, but have flashbacks explaining Weapon X, with Stryker, Sabretooth, Deathstrike (and maybe Omega Red) in the flashbacks, and with Magneto coming in at the end of the film (real time- no flashback) to get revenge on Wolvie and tear out his adamantium/kill him.

We've heard statements about it being a prequel, but then statements that it would have flashbacks, so noone knows for sure yet.
