View Full Version : Curious about ideas for new Sequel Title

TALON

What's goin' on, this is TALON aka EagleVision. I haven't been on these here boards in years and wanted to hear some ideas on what you guys had to say on a Bat Title for the upcoming sequel. Now you all may have very well talked about this on a different thread or whatever but I don't care. It's been years since I've been here so don't jump on my back with your sanctimonious put downs of "We've heard this before" or "go to the thread on page so and so" or "not this again." Those types of people can shove it and cram it. I know how you people can be on the these boards. I used to do those things myself a little bit too. :) I'm sure you veterans will probably want to break me in and say all those things anyway.

Here are the titles I had in mind:
Batman: Joker's Wild (my personal favorite)
Batman: Archnemesis
Batman: Law of the Knight
Batman: The Dark Knight

It's nice to be back. EagleVision out, or should I say my temporary name Talon out.

All of the titles I've heard from here and other sites seem kind of lame, but then again I think whatever they name it...it'll sound lame for a while. When I first heard about Superman Returns I was like "Ugh! A total rip off of Batman Returns' title!", but I got used to it.

It's too bad some of the best titles for Batman stuff have been used up by comic books. It'd be great to be able to name the second Batman Begins movie "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" or something cool like that, you know? Obviously the villian will be The Joker, so that kind of narrows the choices of vocabulary to use in the new title.

I don't know. Maybe something like "Batman Continues"? I don't, man.

Except that he is correct. Call us sanctimonious or whatever you want, but a number of us have been trying to clean up the Batman boards recently just because it was getting completely out of hand with repeating threads. The fact that you have been here before generally makes it even worse because I am sure you have experienced repeating threads before, and you obviously know better because you expressly stated it in your first post.

I find it funny that you call out Katsuro for disregarding your first post and telling you that there are plenty of posts on this already, but you yourself find it okay to completely disregard the general Hype posting etiquette and make another repetetive and pointless thread. Welcome back.

You know, I think i'll go create another Robin or Joker thread, and maybe as long as I tell people not to bug me about it, the mods wont delete it or merge it.

Unbelievable! And yet you still find the time to comment on something that you could've simply ignored. Those who want to comment will and those who don't won't. When I see this thread on page 2, 3 or whatever, it's all good cause nobody had to say anything on the subject. Try doing the same, ignore the thread, move on with your life so I can hear other people's ideas and not your mouth running on the same stuff I'd knew you'd say. That's why I stated everything from the get-go so people like yourselves can ignore these threads. Anybody who's been any length of time, knows people will ignore the thread if it's something repeated and it will disappear over the course of time and new threads. With all this said, GET OFF MY BACK! Thank you. This speech was brought to you by Talon, and written for the simple-minded.

I agree, I've just always liked Batman: Joker's Wild because of the pun intended, but The Dark Knight is fine by me. As long as it isn't the Caped Crusader. Besides the fact that the title sucks for Bats, I always saw that being more closer to Superman's role.

its not really good for promotion.. "ermm, escalation.. yeah" sounds weird to your average goer. Batman Begins is hopefulyl as bad as it gets.

Batman 2 will be perfectly fine... and will finally put to rest the " DERR BUT ITS A PREQUEL DERR"

i dont know. its really hard to think of a title that would fit fine. hmmm escalation....hermmm. i guess it could work. i guess its just as bad as when i heard " batman begins" i cringed. but only at the name, i knew the movie would rock like no other!

It's just a title, who cares about originality. What matters is that it sounds good to the general public and generates interest. Batman 2 is simple and effective.

And you're one to talk about originality. You make that "The Saga Continues" line up off the top of your head?

I just threw it together man, but atleast I put a lil effort into it, unlike, ooohhh Batman 2........ I mean even a terrbile franchise like FF, isn't going the number route.... plus they need to make this series seperate then the other Batman Series, I can see just having Batman 2 being confusing 10 years down the line.... someone might watch the 1989 "Batman" and think "Batman 2" is the sequel....... I mean, Batman Returns sounds more like Batman Begins Sequel, then Batman 2........
