Actually i think Tyrese is a fine actor and im sure bernie mac's role will be very small and should be funny.
After seeing the site its looking to be heading the right direction in terms of mood so im looking forward to seeing it.

I'm split. The changes in the script are pointless and silly. I don't like the cast. But I like the teaser poster and see that the studio and Speilberg are supporting the movie 100 percent. Consider me cautiously optomistic.

I used to watch Beasties when I was a kid. I loved it. I watched a few episodes from the others.....
It looks pretty good, let's just hope that it's PG13 and not some kids movie.

It's a safe bet that they will market it towards kids, but I don't want it to be a kiddie movie in any sense of the word. :o

I'm extremley excited for Transformers, and just looking at those "car-adverts" that have been playing on my TV for some time (a new one has been released!) I do believe this movie will and can work.
Obviously, some changes will be made to better fit the story and overall feel of the movie but I'm happy with that, just like they changed Spidey's web-shooters to Organic-webbing and almost everything else with the X-Men films but the movies themselves ended up being great movies, I'm sure 'Formers will with or without these changes.

Transformers was the peak and most memorable passion for me during my childhood, i pray and hope, if there is a god, this movie will be awesome.

If I remember correctly this movie will be PG-13 due to PG-13 having the widest range of audience of any rating. And the violence against the humans in this movie would almost force it to be PG-13.
Hell, on of the first scenes has the Decepticon Helicopter obliterating a military base and killing humans, as well as releasing Scorponok as a minion that attacks and skewers the soldiers.
I have faith that this will be a good, solid action flick. The action will almost completely be solid I think. I just want the characterization of the Transformers to be good, memorable, and make sense. If the TF's character ideals, goals, and personalities are handled well, then I'll be happy.

I agree with you and would add that I'd also hope for the movie to be solid sci-fi. Good Sci-fi in the sense that it has something to say or something to make you think about.
Transformers is Bay's chance to make a good sci-fi movie that stands the test of time. Transformers has had legs that have kept it alive for over 20 years. I hope the movie itself is as good as that.

I haven't yet seen Micheal Bay delve full on into the sci-fi genre (the Island was as close as I've seen and Armaggeddon doesn't count in my opinion), so I'm interested to see if sci-fi is the niche this director needs. I think every director has a best genre, and it should apply to ol' Mikey.
That being said, if this movie sucks I'm giving the Transformers franchise a shelf life of 4 years before complete destruction (it almost happened with Beast Machines people, lets not have another one of those occur)

I dunno. The best directors run the gamut. Sam Raimi went from Evil Dead (arguably one of the best horror movies ever) to Xena Warrior Princess to Spider-Man (probably the best comic adaptation ever). Steven Spielberg is the finest director in that he knows how to straddle certain lines (pop vs. serious depth) with a certain adeptness. Ridley Scott... another master. Bay has only proven that he can make schlock (in my opinion).

unfortunately I agree with you mostly on that
