No ideas coming to my mind now... post ideas here of who you think would make the perfect Charles Xavier since we know he'll be in the film...

dang thats a hard one, is hard to think about it cause most younger actors have their metro sexual feathery puffy or spikey har, and I kinda need to picture them bald to see some Charles, I dunno, I'm going to say Josh Harnett just cause he has some facial features and because I cant really think of anybody else.

That's the hard part, isn't it? Very few young actors today are bald, and some of the ones with hair probably wouldn't look very good without hair. And any version of Charles above the age of 13 needs to be bald.

And we need someone English. And not just English, but with Patrick Stewart's stage-born accent (even Patrick didn't learn to speak like that until adulthood). And since Xavier is basically an American who spent a lot of time in Oxford, I'll even accept a half-assed accent. Maybe.

I like Zane quite a bit but he always seemed more like a villain. But that's just me. I can't really think of any actors that'd fit the young Prof. Guess they could always go with an unknown.

Hugh approaches Patrick Stuart...

HUGH: Hey, Patrick. Just got off with MARVEL. Turns out I'm playing the young you.

PATRICK: Hmm, come again?

HUGH: Yeah. Apparently Xavier and Wolverine are one and the same. So, yeah- I'm the young Xavier.

PATRICK: How is that possible?

Hugh thinks about it...

HUGH: Let me get back to you on that.

Michael Rosenbaum could be great for the role. Not because he's bald, but I can see him making the similar speeches a young Xavier would to Magneato.

psh...So Wolverine is supposed to be in the Magneto movie? Hugh is a great actor who could bring great character to prof x...he looks totally different from his Wolverine character with his head shaved off. And with his acting chops he can pull it off. Who cares if he's Wolverine? But you're great at sarcasm so let's hear more.

He couldn't play Wolverine even if Wolverine isn't in the movie. An actor playing two distinctly different characters within the same universe doesn't work. I mean, it's bothersome enough to see an actor play two different comic book characters that aren't even in the same universe. In the context of the X-Men film universe, Hugh Jackman is Wolverine and Wolverine is Hugh Jackman.

This rule is stated where? Its only bothersome because you are being close minded. Hugh Jackman is a VERY versatile actor that goes from musicals to being frikkin Wolverine...you think he can't stretch his acting chops a little to play a young Prof X? That's just being too fanboyish.

Hugh is my all time favorite actor, and I know he could pull it off, but for the X-Men movies, that is too much over exposure.

The Prof would have a lead roll in the Magneto movie, and Hugh is already staring in his own character's movie.

Yeah he could, but that would be way too much. FOX would be out of their minds. They know the fans aren't blind, and the majority would hate it.

I'm not trying to pick on you, but it's just that Hugh has gotten so much screen time in the movies, a lot of people could and would ignore a lot of the good stuff he did in the movies because we saw so much of him.

I love Hugh to the very death, but it's just way WAY too much. :csad:

I don't doubt that he COULD. He's a great actor, and I would be perfectly willing to consider the choice is he wasn't already Wolverine. I just think it's ridiculous to have Professor X played by the same guy who is already playing Wolverine, when it isn't even as if he is far and away the best choice for the role. I mean, while we're at it, why don't we have Topher Grace play Spider-Man in the next Spider-Man movie? Let's recast Mary Jane and have Kirsten Dunst play Black Cat!

I didn't see Hannibal Rising yet. Did he have a shaved head in the movie? I don't care about his acting, but he MUST already be bald to play Charles Xavier as a youngster.

Actually, I'm just laughing at people throwing out names for actors that are already bald. Acting ability should matter the most. They did invent these things called razors a while back...

I did not know that. I haven't read any details about when the story would take place. Noted.

one, who the hell would want hugh as prof x in the first place?

I'd love to see what he'd do with the role...he's a chameleon.

Hugh is my all time favorite actor, and I know he could pull it off, but for the X-Men movies, that is too much over exposure.

As if Fox gave a damn what the fans wanted. X-Men 3? Hello? Besides, I KNOW its not realistically going to happen. But he would be a damn fine choice. As I've said before, he is a chameleon when it comes to his roles and I'm sure he would be able to COMPLETELY convince people that he is the young Prof X.

I don't doubt that he COULD. He's a great actor, and I would be perfectly willing to consider the choice is he wasn't already Wolverine. Jackman is the exception...that is why I picked him in the first place. He is far and away a much better actor than Topher AND Kirsten...its ridiculous to compare them to him. And besides...this movie is a spin off...not X-Men 4. Quit being so close minded...this is a "Who would you cast" type thread and I pick him...its not like I have a decision in casting...ITS NOT REAL! So bleh on everyone's "He's already playing Wolverine, blah, blah, bleh, bleh" speakings.
