I have noticed that comic artists occassionally reference fine art or classic art in the comics. I have posted some examples, I posted in the Marvel section since I found more Marvel examples. Go ahead and post your own pictures too.

I remember the Vitruvian also being referenced in the Spider-Man/Doctor Octopus: Year One story--with Spidey in the middle of it as well.

Alex Ross' Kingdom Come was not based on Rockwell's United Nations painting,

I think this sort of counts. Its an advertisement for an art school on the back of an Avengers comic, featuring Norman Rockwell. Sort of counts but maybe not in the same way as the rest of the stuff on this thread. Just thought I'd post it anyway.
