whoa . . . that is awesome; I like it, cuz it looks like it could be like a submarine too . . . which is what makes sense for Bats . . . where did you find this? Is it a concept for a working Bats film?

I wouldn't mind a bat boat like that but for the love of monkeys NO BAT JET!

I've seen that before. I believe that's an existing remote controlled batboat that's actually based off the Tumbler. I'm pretty sure I saw it for sale online somewhere.
It's an awesome design, and if they ever put a batboat in the movies, it should be that one.

The boat doesn't need to take the shape of a bat:mad:

Really nice design. It really does look similar to the Tumbler. Kudos to whoever made it.

I dig... I could see Bats using it in or around a harbor.
Good stuff.

From the aerial shots of Gotham in Begins, we can surmise that it's a coastal city and probably has a few rivers running through it. It might make sense for Batman to have a boat, probably more than it does for him to have, say, a jet or helicopter.

It's cool but I don't see where he would use it in the Nolan Bat-universe
Disagree. It would fit perfectly in Nolan's universe. Since Gotham is on a harbor and has canals running throughout the interior of the city, it would be very realistic to have such a thing for transportation. In some instances, it would be probably quicker for him to get to Gotham that way.
There's also a lot of crime activity along the docks in Nolan's Gotham. A boat would be perfect.
And the Tumbler did?
Actually, yes (http://www.batmobilehistory.com/beginsbat.jpg), it did.
Yes, it was meant to be very subtle. Thank god there weren't any huge fins on the car or large yellow batsymbols on the wheels.

I don't like it. Looks too much like the boat in the other batman movies.
He doesn't need a boat.

Again, disagree. With the amount of canals and channels within the interior of Gotham, Gotham City being on a harbor, and the Batcave possibly having access to it, it makes sense and it's realistic to have that type of transportation.
I hope Nolan does something like this. If he doesn't, that's fine too of course.

That's the Tyco R/C batboat they put out last year. It was designed by the Tyco people as a "what if". Toys R Us had a bunch of them last summer.

A quiet, smaller speedboat is what I had in mind - something that runs silently and has a "stealth mode" like the Tumbler had during the chase scene.
And I agree, a yacht is totally out of the question.

And I agree, a yacht is totally out of the question.Maybe for the '60s Batman. *cues Austin Powers music* Batman: "Batman dance party! Everyone on the yacht!
Not you, Robin...you're still in college."
Robin: "But so are all of these girls!"
Batman: "Don't question me, Robin....I AM NEVER WRONG WHEN I'M DOING THE BATUSI!"

he should have the batwing and it should be able to float. No need for a boat.

It could be plausible that the underground railway would lead to one of these waterways thus making the railway track as a way of transporting to a boat or other type of vessel.
Perhaps Batman would travel by hand-pumped railcar to tget there. :)

I think that overlaying image is a bit of a stretch.
I mean i'm sure they had subliminal bat referencing when designing the tumbler, with the panneling and such, but that trace doesn't do it for me, it seems like someone is reading too much into it.

I can't admit a boat in Nolan's vision of the Batman Universe, but the Bat-Wing would be absolutely ridiculous.
Nice model, though.

What are you talking about? When Alfred mentioned the "underground railroad" he wasn't talking about an actual railroad... that trains use. It was a metaphorical term. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underground_railroad

I was thinking it may of been more of an old mining tunnel network under Gotham that has tracks to transport dirt, which they used to smuggle slaves through.
edit - Thanks for the link, just read it all, never knew about any of that ...very interesting stuff.

I agree that the batwing would not work within Nolan's universe. The batboat definitely would though, and would make sense for reasons I've already listed above.

*Pulls up floorboards, to reveal a model train set* "Hey, look - this must have been the site of the underground railroad.
*points to hole in wall* "And that must have been where the stock market crashed!"

That looks awesome!:) I really hope Nolan uses the bat-boat, in BB2. It would be cool if Nolan introduces a new set of gadgets every film.
