X-men as background?

Some rumors were that some X-men should appear in Wolverine's movie. The question is if it's gonna be the whole team in a real time, or only some characters in flashbacks. Storm and Professor X were guessed so far. I mean, it's pretty sure that the script will be rewritten for about thirty times from now on, but do you think someone (beside Logan) would make it into the final version?

Well, I get the impression Wolverine is very much a prequel, therefore the X-Men can't be used as a background. None of them have met him yet.

There was an thing about Arad here a while ago and he said that this isn't really a sequel nor is it a prequel. So I guess it'll be told in flashback maybe.

If it's after X3 they're going to have to explain why he isn't at the school. The ending gave the impression that Wolverine was staying at the school. That he'd made peace with his place.

On the other hand, Claremont's novelization hinted he's been gone between X2 and X3...

How much will they depend on the novelization? The book supposedly had Gambit in the Danger Room training session but I'm guessing they will save Gambit for X4 and have him brought in from the outside. So few of us have the read the book, it might not be considered canon. :)

If this is the story of Wolverine before him joining the X-men I don't see any point in other X-men characters being in the movie because we know how he joined the team.

I don't think anyone knows yet for sure what it's going to be. It might have some before stuff as well as some after. :)

if, there doing its as a pre-squel origin weapon x storyline, then no. but if they can work it in good, have cameo or some refference I won't mind, though, i wouldn't really see the point.
