Okay, sell the franchise. We lost to the freakin' Bobcats.:csad:
We allowed 39 assists on 42 field goals. Primoz Brezec had a double-double. Derek Anderson came off the bench and dropped 24 and 10 on us.

Respect...he's a young very athletic player from Europe. He's been with the team for a few years now and is starting to come around to playing the game smart and not just with his raw skill. The kid has the potential to be a really good player both offensively and defensively. Sadly he does not, have the right coach. I hope he has the right assistant coaches around him teaching him how to really play the game, becuase he could, do some damage with proper teaching.

It's a little bit of that, but this is also not out of the oridnary for the Warriors. They are and have been, the streakiest team, in the NBA for the past 4-6 years now. They can never seem to put together long runs more than once a year. Every year (so far with the exception of this one) they go on a 8-12 game or so win streak during the season but never put together more than 4 or 5 the rest of the year, twice at most. And drop games to teams like Toronto, Portland, Atlanta, New Orleans, Clippers (when they were bad, really bad), Boston and so on.

Yet when they play against the top teams like Spurs, Lakers, Kings (when they were dominant), Suns, Mavs, Pistons, Bulls, Heat and so on they play their best games. Not always, they do get smacked down by the elite teams as well, but just stating my point. They are extremely streaky.

Not to say that a 17 game win streak doesn't take a lot out of team, because it does. But the Mavs should have laid the smack down on the Warrios (according to the way the two teams have played this season and the past seasons).

But I'm not at all surprised the Warriors won or that they won by so much. Typical Warriors basketball.

Ghostvirus
03-13-2007, 04:43 AM
I can't agree or disagree. Simply, because i don't know the Warriors all that well.

It isn't just one 17 game winning streak. There have been multiple 10+ streaks this season by the Mavs. They are going full throttle, & that could cost them in the end.

Michael Jordan announced that Bernie Bickerstaff will not return to the team as coach next season, although he may return in a front-office role.

Of course, I'm not saying you're wrong at all, I mean with only 20 games or so left and only 9 losses, now 10 they are running really high every night. But trust me, as a bay area native and a devoted Warriors fans, they are the streakiest team in the league as I said and fully capable of not just beating any team in the league any given night, but stomping them as they did the Mavs.

With that said they are also capable of getting stomped by the worst teams in the league as well. Up and down, up and down, that's the Warriors all the way.

This was more like the Shaq'a'Hack. Shaq, Posey and Zo all had 2 fouls in the first quarter. Boozer & Okur were killing them. Second game in a row wher Shaq's minutes were limited because of early foul trouble. At least he rebounded with big 4th quarter efforts both times.

Ben Wallace 9/21, 19 pts.
Ben Gordon 3/7, 11 pts.

That shouldn't be surprising. He is fully capable of dropping 20+ even 30+. 20+ is more likely but he can drop 30 as well. Not saying it should be expected of him, but I would say he is good for a 20+ point game every other week at least. Especially after he lost weight, when he was with Sac he was a damn good player, not special but I would have taken him on my team (Warriors) back then for sure.

Then he went to Orlando, wasn't motivated, got hurt a little and put on weight. But he came back this season really motivated and inspired and it shows, he is close or is back to his old form. It shouldn't be that surprising.

I've got comment on last nights Mavs vs Suns game and what a game it was. Dirk and Nash showed why there were up for MVP this year. Stuadimire was amazing, heck Damp and Diop were hustling. I thought we had the game till we start commiting dumb fouls and collapsing on defense abit. Dirk needs to learn how to shut his mouth sometimes, but overall a good playoff atmosphere game...I wish Harris would not gotten hurt, he would've given Nash a harder time.

Cavs' Pollard apologizes for on-air remark
Associated press
CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Cavaliers center Scot Pollard looked into the camera during a recent game and said, "Hey kids, do drugs."

Pollard was sitting on the bench in street clothes when he made the remark during a 20-second timeout Sunday against Indiana. The Cavaliers didn't find it funny.

"We have spoken with Scot and certainly do not condone his actions," general manager Danny Ferry said in a statement Wednesday. "He regrets his mistake, using inappropriate humor, particularly when he has always been very involved in the community, projecting positive messages to our youth. We will handle the issue internally."

"It was a bad joke," Pollard said in Thursday editions of The Plain Dealer. "That's all it boils down to. There are a number of things people could say about it, but it just turned out it was a bad joke. Obviously, I don't believe that."

Pollard, who has played in only 17 games this season, was not available Thursday. He would be at practice Friday, the team said.

The latest gem from The Big Aristotle:
"I'm unemulatable. I took the files and deleted them, ate 'em, used 'em in the bathroom, flushed it, went through the sewage plant and blew the sewage plant up. So there's no way that my style can be copied. It's gone, forever. There's a new big guy style, Dirk Nowitzki style, guys stepping out and shooting jumpers, shooting 3s. So that style will be here for a while, but my style is gone, forever."

It seems like forever ago when the Lakers had the 5th best record in the league. That season has gone to **** extremely quick. Granted, they should still make the playoffs, but you gotta wonder how much resolve is left there. On top of that Big Chief Triangle just got zinged for 50K for saying the league is on a witch hunt to get Mamba. Funny. I love wrestling as much as the next guy, but Bryant needs to stop channeling his inner Macho Man Randy Savage. :o

Heatians go for a tie of the division lead tonight against 'Beat Her Down' Artest and the Kings. Big Diesel took over the 3rd and helped push to a win over Jersey last night. Better still be some juice in the tank on the second half of the back to back:up:

Yes, I am back. Yes, I was on probation for some comments I made towards some Hugh Jackman fans on the X3 forum.

I will say that I find it hysterical that MC said I crawled back into my hole because the Mavs lost two games? Hardly the case. I go to school and work full-time, so forgive me if I'm not on here the minute the Mavs lose two games. :whatever:

About their game with Phoenix? Excellent game with a playoff atmosphere. I loved that the officials allowed both teams to play rather than call ticky tack fouls. In the end Phoenix wanted it more and Dallas showed mental lapses in their defense.

Phoenix won the game and my congrats go to them and their fanbase.

I'm not really scared about it. If Dallas wins it should be expected and they shouldn't lose to the Celtics. The game against Phoenix was very winnable and they should've won it.

But no, I'm not scared about it. I just hope their defense improves and they learn to stop having mental breakdowns at crunch time. One thing is for sure, if they play defense in the playoffs the way they played against Phoenix they better expect to be booted out early.

Dallas had Phoenix contained with some tight defense and they went away with what was successful.

Yeah, his supporting cast was horrible. But the Blazers are only 2-3 games out of the #8th spot in the West, so they really aren't THAT bad. Plus they are getting big ups from Lamarcus Aldridge who is coming on strong in the second half of the year, now. Aldridge / Roy / Randolph is a very talented and up and coming trio.

I totally forgot that Dallas played the Knicks last night. Dallas won the game and go into Cleveland to face the Cavs obviously. The last time Dallas and the Cavs played against one another Lebron almost beat Dallas by himself.

The Cavs lost to the Bobcats last night and I'm sure Lebron remembers missing both of his free throws against Dallas. So with the loss from last night and the loss against Dallas, one would assume that he will be coming out with full force tonight.

Well, looking at the standings now, if the playoffs were to happen right now Dallas would be facing Golden State in the First Round.

It's not retarded at all. How many times has Kobe gone off on San Antonio, Chicago, Phoenix, or Detroit? He RARELY goes off against them because they apply tough defense on him and make him work for his points.

A team like Golden State, Toronto, Memphis, and Portland are not going to put up a big fight in defense against Kobe. If he wants to impress me or anyone he needs to go off when it counts. Kobe is an amazing talent, he has all the tools to be the greatest player of all time. He can shoot, he can pass, he can handle the ball, and is a pretty damn good defensive player.

What stops Kobe is is ego. He wants to be the star and doesn't seem to understand the concept of making everyone else better. When Kobe is distributing the ball and making shots he's impossible to stop. If Kobe set aside his ego and said "I'm going to make my teammates better" the Lakers would be unstoppable.

So again, until Kobe goes off on Chicago, Detroit, San Antonio, or Phoenix he'll never get respect. Because the teams I just mentioned know how to slow him down and play tough defense on him.

As I said, my team Dallas has NO answer for him. So he's guaranteed to at least score 40, 50, or 60 on Dallas.

As I said, my team Dallas has NO answer for him. So he's guaranteed to at least score 40, 50, or 60 on Dallas.

It is really bothering me that we agree. Kobe is a great player. That is why he dominates the teams that he does, but what he lacks is the killer instinct. He lost my respect when he sat out game 7 against phoenix. Any player worth more than just scoring would have, had to of been drugg off the floor before leaving that game, but he didn't seem at all bothered by it.

In short Kobe is a one of the best scores this league has. He is just not a winner.

If you read my post you would say that I give him credit and have acknowledge that is guaranteed to go off for 40, 50, or 60 against Dallas.

I know more basketball than you think and if Kobe is as great many claim he is, then why hasn't he gotten to a championship without Shaq? Why are the Lakers struggling to maintain their spot in the playoffs?

No one is denying that the man is talented. Kobe is a GREAT player with all the talent in the world and is unstoppable when he gets going, but what stops him from being greater than great is his massive ego and if not for his ego your team would've beaten the Suns. There's no doubt in my mind that if Kobe played the way he's capable of playing in Game 7? The Lakers wouldn't have lost to the Suns.

Just like Dallas struggled against the Lakers and against Miami, Kobe struggles with his ego and anyone who denies that simply needs to take off the blinders.

Now please take your foot out of your mouth.

i said nothin about his ego.. i know you read MY post.. you obviously dont read your OWN.. you said he wont get RESPECT... then you turn around and RESPECt him.. just stop talkin already..... he is THREE years removed from shaq... yet you measure GREATNESS by championships???? then DIRK isnt GREAT... ??? CHarles Barkley isnt great??? Reggie Miller, Karl Malone, John Stokcton arent GREAT???? you judge a SINGLE MAN by his TEAM???
Kobe would win a ship with a PRIME Pippen..trust that.. you obviously know LESS BBALL than you proclaim.. you HAVE the blinders on.. YOU are driven by HATE... dont respect him cause his EGO??? but LOVE MJ for HIS?????

and if it WASNT for HIS TEAM we woulda BEATEN the suns.....THE TEAM SUCKS man.. i told carnage and i tell everyone.. we are STARTIN(with exception of LO and POSSIBLY LUKE) BENCH PLAYERS.... period.... why is his TEAM strugllin??? and why does HIS TEAM WIN..when he scores???? hmmm simple math homes... and last year HIS TEAM GAVE UP... when he passed the ball where were they??

your team is favored to win the west... WON the west last year.. HAD some of the BEST D..last year.. and yet you profess you have no ANSWER for him???

Act civil, fellas...

I have acted civil, he was the one who flipped out over my post. It's not my fault he doesn't understand the concept of basketball.

Just so you know Rekal, Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley, Hubie Brown, and others have virtually said the same thing about Kobe. So they must be wearing blinders too eh?

I may not respect Kobe as a person, but I respect his talent and see that if he set aside his ego he could be greater than he is. So again, take your foot out of your mouth, chill out, and stop acting as if people are out to get Kobe. Dirk is a good player, he's not great, but he is a very good player and what stops Dirk from being great/greater is that he isn't strong mentally or doesn't seem to have the same competitive drive that Bird(the player he's often compared to).

No one is saying Kobe isn't talented. Kobe IS VERY TALENTED. He has all the tools to be the BEST PLAYER IN THE NBA. But scoring 50, 60, or 70 points on teams like the Raptors, Portland, and so forth is really nothing to be impressed about at all. Sure, like all Kobe worshippers, you'll blame the rest of the team saying that the supporting players suck and it's their fault for losing, but the blame will never go to Kobe since he can do no wrong.

Players make their team better. While Dirk does make everyone around him better, if were stronger mentally and didn't lose his cool so much he'd surpass greatness in my opinion. So again, educate yourself in the fundamentals of basketball before trying to debate me. There's a reason why Kobe hasn't won a championship without Shaq. Kobe isn't a leader like a Jordan, Bird, Magic, or Thomas, but then again, who is?

So take off your blinders and look at the reality rather than the points.

I hate the old "if Kobe is so great how come he hasn't won a title without Shaq."

I'll tell you why Shaq has won one without Kobe. Ok...Shaq has Dwayne Wade. Who the hell does Kobe have? Lamar Odom? Ok. Give Kobe Yao Ming and then we'll talk.

Anyway. People need to get off Kobe. Yeah those past few teams aren''t that great, but Kobe still shows that he can put up point and play solid basketball against the higher echelon of teams. It's not his fault that the Lakers don't have other scoring options.

Don't say Lamar Odom, he plays with half a brain most of the time.

MIAMI -- After one particularly hard foul sent Shaquille O'Neal tumbling, the 7-foot-1 center rolled into a backward somersault before bouncing to his feet.

2006-07 Power Rankings: Week 21
RANK (LAST WK) TEAM REC. COMMENT
1 (1) Mavericks 58-11 Mavs are a mere 6-0 since Suns loss, but Dirk senses you're not impressed: ''We win 17 in a row, lose one game and . . . everybody says we're nothing.'' Not us, pal.
2 (2) Spurs 49-20 Shocker: Spurs have been better in the second half (21-7) than they were in the first half (28-13). It's only happened five seasons out of six this millennium.
3 (3) Suns 52-17 Suns just clinched their third straight division title after winning only three from 1968-2004. One caution: Suns' lead over Spurs for the No. 2 seed is down to three games.
4 (7) Rockets 44-26 Rockets are 8-3 with Yao back and have held 25 opponents to 85 points or fewer. Those are two variables in a formula adding up to a win total that would lead the East.
5 (5) Pistons 44-25 Pistons are 2-0 when Sheed is serving a techs-induced suspension and just clinched the East's first playoff berth. So they're not stressing about a so-so home record.
6 (4) Cavaliers 42-28 Just when it seemed they were pushing for the East's top seed, Cavs post a 1-3 week. Which puts them closer to No. 5 than No. 1, with seven of the next eight on the road.
7 (6) Jazz 45-24 As long as Jazz don't surrender HC advantage in Round 1 by letting Rockets pass them in the win column, they can live with what happens in the rankings. Probably.
8 (9) Bulls 41-30 Skiles was predictably enraged by that one-point loss at Memphis, but Bulls' last three Ws in an 8-3 month came by four points combined. Can't win every close one.
9 (13) Lakers 38-32 The funny thing about Kobe's 53.6 ppg average during this historic run? Lakers have needed every point, only winning those five games by an average of 4.4.
10 (10) Nuggets 35-33 Winning on LeBron's floor takes Iverson and Melo to 11-11 when both are in Nuggets' lineup, with Denver in the midst of a 6-2 uptick overall since its 1-3 start in March.
11 (12) Raptors 38-31 What's the cure for Bargnani's appendectomy? An otherwise tidy 2-0 week to push Raps' division lead to 6½ games, lifting them to a season-high No. 3 in the East.
12 (8) Heat 37-32 First a 25-point loss to unraveling Indy? Then a 19-point blown lead at home to Philly? Yes, Mr. Wade. Heat were 11-3 without you, but they're ready for you now.
13 (11) Wizards 37-31 The good Gilbert: Arenas' layup as time expired in Seattle marked his third buzzer-beating game winner of the season. No one else in the league has more than one.
14 (17) Clippers 34-36 The secret to finishing eighth? Even sans Cassell, banged-up Clips are now 5-0 in one-point games after winning in MIL . . . and after just one one-point W last season.
15 (14) Warriors 33-38 Warriors are 8-2 with Baron back, but Clips are almost as hot. So this apparently won't be a replay of 10 years ago, when 36-46 was good enough for Clips to be No. 8.
16 (18) Hornets 32-38 Hornets started 8-3 with Peja playing and should get him back this week. Problem is, it's probably too late unless they win both of their remaining meetings with Clips.
17 (19) 76ers 28-42 Sixers are 8-4 in March, including wins over Jazz and Heat, after beating Phoenix on the last day of February. But even in the East, they appear out of playoff range.
18 (15) Nets 32-38 Common sense says Nets vets are the most likely group out there to fall upwards into a playoff berth. But only one word can describe their recent play: Lackluster.
19 (22) Magic 32-38 This'll only be the biggest week of No. 8 Magic's season so far, with games against their two closest pursuers: No. 10 Knicks (Monday in NY) and No. 9 Pacers (Friday).
20 (16) Knicks 30-39 Who needs Crawford? Who needs D. Lee? Actually . . . Isiah misses both of them badly judging by Knicks' 1-5 record since he got that contract extension.
21 (21) Kings 30-40 Kudos to Kings for stunning Suns despite losing K. Martin early. But with 40 losses overall, they've already clinched the club's worst record since going 27-55 in '97-98.
22 (23) Timberwolves 30-39 Before KG's buzzer-beater Sunday to beat Portland, Wolves' playoff push featured a 3-8 record in March, 12 losses in 16 games and one win in 13 road games.
23 (24) Pacers 31-38 Only one team in a decade besides these Pacers slid from five games over .500 into a double-digit losing skid. Toronto was 29-21 in '01-02, then lost 13 straight.
24 (27) Trail Blazers 29-41 Blazers will not manage the 12-0 finish they need to finish at .500. But Roy has the ROY locked up and they'll certainly finish above Sonics, if nothing else.
25 (29) Bobcats 26-45 If (for some reason) you rank East contenders based on how they fare vs. Bobcats, Miami clearly has an edge. Bobs are 0-2 against Heat, 2-2 vs. Pistons and Cavs.
26 (20) Celtics 20-49 By following up their San Antonio breakthrough with three straight Ls, Celts have a sub-.300 winning percentage this late in the season for just the second time ever.
27 (25) Bucks 25-43 Bogut and Villanueva done for the year. Bucks' seven-game homestand is done, too. So routing Spurs in his debut figures to be Krystkowiak's highlight for a while.
28 (28) Hawks 27-44 Joe Johnson believes he'll play again this season in spite of that calf injury. The committee's rooting for him, too, since we're also nursing soccer-induced calf trouble.
29 (26) SuperSonics 27-42 Sonics' season only grows more painful: Ray Allen is done for the year and offsets his career-best scoring average (26.4 ppg) by playing a career-low 55 games.
30 (30) Grizzlies 17-53 Uh-oh. Grizz have five games to go on a six-game trip and only 12 games left to avoid being the only team in the league this season that fails to win two in a row.

MIAMI -- Heat coach Pat Riley continues to caution that Dwyane Wade's return this season is an "if" proposition, but Wade sounded as if it's probable after his first extensive on-court work at practice on Monday.

Sheed's Shot! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l_S_0GG4pI)

Yeah. That was amazing! I couldn't believe it. I thought the Nuggets had it. I'm a Nuggets fan, so when I seen that shot, I was speechless. How could they let that happen?
