i would like a relatively low budget because Wolverine isnt the thing you need a huge budget for, anyone with a good video editing software can do the claws. the only way i think we'll get a huge, blockbuster budget is if they do a story centering on Weapon X. then we will probably see the other subjects and THAT would require a big budget.

I would like too see them go balls to the wall with this Wolverine movie! 100 million dollar budget would set this movie in the all time highest grossing movie list. Make it a killer movie!

You don't need a big budget at all. Let's compare to X2, which had good effects and a $110mil budget.
-"Wolverine" needs to pay 1 x-man, not the whole ensemble cast (atleast not Halle, so that saves a ton right there)
-The only special effects really needed are the claws and healing factor: no explosions, no weather changes, steeling or icing up, etc.
-"Wolverine" is being treated with respect in terms of time, unlike X1 and X3 (whose budget was ridiculous because of time). They can take their time, hire less SFX companies, not rush editing, etc. In terms of scope, I still felt X2 had a rushed schedule- they began shooting mid-summer a year before release, and there were a lot of effects and editing to be done. From what Hugh has said, they're starting serious production this fall/winter, so it definitely won't be rushed (plus they writer has been working on it for a while now).
This movie, if done right, will be a low budget, and to please FOX definitely bring in the cash (although I'd rather have an X4 than any spinoff). It should be a good example of quantity not being reflective of quality.

i would love too see an x4 and a wolverine spin off i would also like too see Deadpool in a spinn off or in his own flick. i dont care as long as its done well and the characetrs stay true to thier book personality. but then again i guess your right a big budget really wouldnt matter im just such a big fan of the marvel universe especially wolverine and x men, that i dont care who is in what (minus storm). :xmen:

I don't think so. Wolverine won't gross as much as the previous X-Men films. They have a lot more characters to draw the crowds.
I think a budget of around $60 million should be sufficient for a Wolverine movie.
As for what it will gross. Around $100 million?

60 million i rekon, and in my opinion a huge budget normally suggests that storyline is sacrificed for 'big bangs' or novelty items. Wolverine doesn't need that typical hollywood gleem, but a rough lens to empower his epic animalistic journey. A shooting style similar to Jet Li's "Unleashed" aka "Danny the Dog", this darkeness can be done on a small budget but is effective. Plus lower budget means more profit for FOX, thus future X-men movies.

For comparison:
The Punisher $33m
Electra $43m
Hellboy $66m
Daredevil $78m
Constantine $100m
Catwoman $100m
Hulk $137m
I'll guess at around $80m

Errrmm..I just say around 85 mill to 100 million.
I hope they will concentrate more on the Drama aspect like the latest Hugh Jackman's movie, "The Prestige".
Involve special-effect that relevant to the stories and more blood come out form his hand when the claw emerge.

I'm thinking the budget would be around $75M or less.

Between 80m and 100m sounds about right. It of course shouldn´t be in the same league as the last two X-Men movies, but Wolvie is a popular character, I wouldn´t be surprised if Fox sees it as a high bet.

I'm hoping for a grittier, lower budget Wolverine. The only limit that would put is on the lack of any "flashy" mutants, and that's a good thing.

150 would be good but I like 100-125. Don't wanna spend too much but I'm not worried cause the casting, besides Jackman, will probably not be expensive.
