Who would win?
Duncan MacLeod

Iron Man. Simply by virtue of being the hero.
Mind you Doom's going to make him pay cash for it.
In the old Iron Manual when Tony rated other guys in armor he said something to the effect that "If Doom put his mind to it he could come up with an armor that would rip mine apart."

It's a draw.. Mags would come through and destroy them both!! but seriously Iron-man would cheat and call in some of his buddies..

Mags, you mean Magneto?? No way does he beat Iron Man, infact in an Avengers West Coast issue, Iron Man and Magneto did fight, Iron Man reversed the polarity of his armor and beat the crap outta Magneto.
now that I think about it a fight between Iron Man and Wolverine would also be a onesided beating, if Iron Man made himself into a magnet.
Iron Man vs Dr. Doom, I would now say Iron Man because he constantly keeps upgrading his armor and now has the extremes virus injected inhimself which could control and shut down the Doom armor.

I remember that, I thought it was so funny to see Iron Man basically turned the tables on Magneto, it was a fun issue.
Iron Man vs Wolverine, that would be entertaining, though, all Tony has to do is tap into a Defense Satellite and blow Wolverine up from orbit.

Probably because their just going armor vs. armor. Clearly IM's armor is vastly superior to DD's. The thing is that DD usually doesn't even use his armor for attack unless he has to. He's more of a schemer.

Agreed, he usually sends minions to do his dirty work or a Doombot. A staight up fight Iron Man should win because Stark is always upgrading his Armor, Doom doesn't, his armor I believe stay's pretty much the same.

Doom's armor isn't really all THAT inferior to Iron Man's armor. But Doom would probably win in an all for nothing fight since he can also utilize magic as well. (Considered to be the next in line for mantle of Sorcerer Supreme after Strange himself.) And magic, unfortunately, is an area Tony struggles quite a bit on.

Actually Doom upgrades his armor as much, if not more, than Stark does. He just doesn't change it's exterior appearance.
Why? Because Doom likes it as it is. And if some so-called hero is foolhardy enough to believe that Doom doesn't then the fool deserves to have his head handed to him.

Unless it was a hero vs. villain story, 9/10 Dr. Doom takes it. Dr. Doom has always been written as superior to every superhero that isn't named Reed Richards or Dr. Strange. Dr. Doom is just more cunning than Iron Man and ultimately, Dr. Doom takes it.

Actually, compared to Strange, Doom is lacking severely. His magic/tech combo is awesome and all, but neither one is really outside of Strange's ability to handle. Strange has definitely faced far more powerful villans with far more varying abilities and won out.

During Unthinkable, Doom cast an anti-tech spell over Latveria. All of Reeds gizmos went kablooie! Don't know why he couldn't do a similar thing in a smaller area. Then it would be Victor vs. Stark hand to hand. In that matchup, I'd go with Vic.

BAH!!! Doom found the beyonders powers... unweildy why else do you think Doom allowed the heros to be revived long enough to "distract" Doom!
Misinformation is not arrogance it is foolish to suggest the "Silver Surfer" might be incapable of leaving the planet (especially if you weren't there when Galatus cursed him)
The alleged attempted theft of Hyperstorms powers was a red herring to distract from Doom's true aim

Wasnt it established in Secret Wars that the Beyonder, in fact, ALLOWED Doom to take his power, in order to study Doom and see what he would do with it?
Regardless, if both are wearing their current suits, then i'd give it to Tony.

Correct. The Beyonder, in part of his infinite search for entertainment, allowed Doom to have it.
Put it this way, Galactus with all his power and knowledge and ability to use his power couldn't get through, and he really wanted to.
A super powered Doom with power he can't really comprehend all that well shouldn't have been able to.

Well, one thing to remember, while Doom may have had the anti tech spell, Stark has injected himself with the extremis virus, he technically no longer even needs the armor.
I will concede the fact, that Doom is one bad dude, but lets give Tony some credit, he's beaten anti tech spells before, Mandarin did it and Tony found away to beat that, like CaptainSpacey said.
it could be considered a draw.

Actually, they've fought solo before.
Tony got his most conclusive victory with the help of Squirrel Girl.
:-)
Doom has faced down the entire Avengers before and while normally 7 times out of 10, Doom is going to beat down Tony Stark. The fact is that Doom actually acknowledges Tony as an individual threat. The only ten people in the world that Doom even realizes EXISTS are the Fantastic Three (he doesn't acknowledge Jonny), Tony Stark, Thor, Doctor Strange, Namor, Black Panther, Kang, and whatever chick he's currently macking on (Valaria, Storm, DAZZLER...)
So that puts Tony in some august company.

The greatest Iron Man/ Doctor Doom battle (*to date*) has to be Iron Man 149-150. These issues should be examined in relations to this debate. On the other hand, both parties are consistantly improving on their individual advancements. So the point might be mute. In my personal opinion, I'd say it would Doom. :doom:

Well if Doom only used Technology and didn't include Magic (or his power to switch with the winner anyway). Excluding if Stark let him live with enough strength (more likely he will cause he's a hero and what not, not saying he won't, but he's likely too), Doom would use his time platform to go back in time and change the outcome to his favor, because he knows how it gonna happen. Excluding ALL THAT, Iron Man is slightly better tech. wise, because its all Stark has, so its bound to be a little more thought out.
But good thing Doom thinks about these things, and has magic, and a time platform and the ability to switch minds.
Doom baby. :doom:

Also the fact that good guys win like 85% of the time anyway, should not make a difference if the story actually played out like it was supposed to. But (most of the time!) good guys win a lot because everyone likes the guy who's name is on the cover....No good cheating good guys...:p

Wasn't that Doom based on Ultimate Doom?
The similarities are in the skin turned to metal, and he was in the accident that created the F.4 other than that, they are quite different.
The ultimate version didn't have electrical powers, had goat legs, was a lot more intelligent (it seemed), didn't have a whole company to his name, shot out metal spikes and could spew out toxic gas. As well he had a little rut in the East that squatters lived in but they had to swear loyalty to Doom (his name was Victor Van Damme). He then also learned magic from Atlantis teachings after taking over Latveria and changing his name too Dr. Doom(this I'm not too familiar with).

Magics gotta be the decider, tech to tech, I'd place my bets on Iron Man but with magic it has to be Doom. Tony just doesn't have anything that can counter something that screws with the nature of the universe itself.
