Wait, are they meeting up or something?
No, but I would really like to see all 3 of these teams meet.

This would be one hell of a powerful team-up, they would have to take on somebody very very powerful, it would be awesome.

I still say Santo would get his ass handed to him, and any other outcome would be bull.
I dont think he would get his ass handed to him, but I dont think he would be the victor either.

His stupidity alone would cause him to lose.

My favorite Young Avenger would probably be Hulkling followed by Wiccan. I want to see a Black Panther YA (again with my coal tiger idea). Also with this new young Masters of Evil, who were the masters of evil originally. I'd love to see a Young Black Knight.

We don't know the limits of the Staff of One!!! As for Young Avengers I get called a racist but i liked Patriot's first costume better. I like everyone else's costume changes better especially Iron Lad resembling Vision even if that .... and so on... you get the idea... I'm sure i said this before but how the hell is patriot's first shield casually deflecting kang's guns but then the Kree gun goes right through it!!! I need an answer from anyone!:cmad:

I just got a letter in the mail saying that Young Avengers has ended and my subscription has been transfered to Runaways. Prior to this letter, I got one saying that my Young Avenger's subscription would continue when the series starts up again. Did this happen to anyone else? Am I being transfered until it comes back or is YA now officially done and the second series has been canned?

Something that works only once, and only if correctly said. So, I guess with Victor, that might work once.

That's called, "Boy, you got shafted". That's why I have someone pick up my comics for me, so this doesn't happen.

It'd be great if it got canned altogether.

Quite frankly, I don't really care about YA that much. By the time it came, I had already forgotten about it since all the delays. I am just wondering if it is canned or not.

Ok, well since series one of the book has ended, and I have all of the issues, I can't get anymore. I am asking if the second series is back on. This has nothing to do with getting the book through the mail or through person right now.

Anywho! Of all the YA's which one do you think would make the most interesting solo comic? I'd say Hulkling make him older and in space with the long hair look. (The one with the long Jacket and the Long hair, its bad arse)

Can anyone find the sketches that I'm talking about? I got them when I got the TPB, in the back...
Comicboy,
you serios? Kate to me is a really boring character, I mean solo what could she do? A few adventures here, a few there... not much else. Hulkling is the son of Captain Marvel.

By the way, will one of the %0 teams in the initiative be called the Warriors?
Charlie No-One

I do not like Patriot. I would say Vision. Not my favorite character, but the only one I see on a solo basis.
a vision solo would last 5 issues.
supermarvelman
01-16-2007, 09:12 PM
Vision has a lot of Connections, he could last way more than 5 issues. But really none of the Young Avengers should have a solo book anytime soon.

Kevin

So, I've been re-reading YA (So far 2-6) And I must say, The Cassie/Kang relationship is the dumbest... *sigh* She knew him for what, an Hour, hour and a half, maybe 2 hours at best, and they're kissing? She suddenly has all these ****ing feelings after less then 2 goddamn hours? Bull****. :down
Also, Billy is the girl, but I will never ever think of him as a... Taker. I will believe that if their relationship (His and Teddy's) Ever got any farther, that they would be equal. SEE?! this is what I don't wanna think about! Eeeewwww, I can't believe I said that.

Anyway so now we know there's a confirmation of Young Masters of Evil...
What young masters of evil do you want to see? The originals Masters of Evil are Baron Zemo, Black Knight, Radioactive man, Melter (enchantress and excutioner joined later) I'd love to see a mini black knight and a mini radioactive man!
Kevin

Wait, Black Knight as in THE Black Knight? Dane Black Knight or some other Black Knight?
Galact-Gal

Wait, Black Knight as in THE Black Knight? Dane Black Knight or some other Black Knight?
The original Black Knight was a bad guy, and Dane Whitman's uncle. After being injured in a battle with Iron Man (I think), he got in touch with his nephew, revealed all, repented, & died. Dane decided to become a heroic Black Knight to make up for his uncle's deeds.

It's a bit rushed, but I still think it works fairly well; she's a teenager, after all. Anyway, falling in love in a really brief space of time is a standard fictional trope, so it doesn't bother me.

potential young Masters of Evil
. Sonic Youth - a new character with sound based powers like Klaw
. Kristoff Vernard - yeah, he seems like a good kid but he's still got Doom's 'programming' in his head. would be interesting to see him clash with Cassie & the new Vision.
. Excavator - the Wrecking Crew kid from Runaways
. Cole Wittman - the Wizard's daughter from Fantastic Four

exactly...
Billy and Teddy have been, so far... a very accurate portrayal of what many of us gay men and teens have gone through, heinberg does an amazing job at not making them stereotypical... theres a huge percentage of gay men that you would never tell unless you really knew them, they act like regular guys... the queeny fem stereotype is around only because there the most noticable. About 60-70 percent of the gay guys i know act like regular men, they love to build stuff, play sports go out drinkin and get dirty... you'd never know unless they were with or talked about a guy. And i in many cases know that a real devoted gay couple do go about sex 50/50 why? because its more intimate to share that way... and theres many very VERY masculine men who like to bottom

I meant leave for the night. And I don't see how this even started. I said one thing that two other people said too, and I am the only to get picked on. I rather not talk about it anymore because there will just be more comments claiming I am "uneducated" and "pushing buttons". Neither of these things are true and I guess I can't voice my opinion.

I'm sorry about making a big deal out of it man, but what exactly makes billy seem "femmy" as compared to hulkling? both rush to eachothers aid the moment the other is hurt.. and both do whatever it takes to save the other... only ones got huge giant muscles... sooo not really seeing why you, or anyother person saw this other then one having muscles and the other being slim
Charlie No-One
01-18-2007, 05:59 PM
No. That is not why I see it that way. I see it that way because Hulkling is confident and hung out with the football (or was it basketball) players. Billy was picked on and was emotionally weaker (and probably a bit weaker physically before he found his powers).

well see this is kinda the part i was trying to explain... Teddy had confidence... because he could physically look like the rest of the guys... if you look back at the annual he use to appear skinny and was an outcast, right until he "changed" to conform with everyone else. Billy on the other hand was shy, kept to himself... and because of this he was picked on, hell for all we know billy could have even been out of the closet in highschool.. and teddy most likely was not. I guess what i'm trying to say is weakness, emotionally or physically does not make someone more of a "woman", I've kinda come to find that alot of strait men feel that it is though... but it's just part of them growing up thinking "women are weaker" and that crap doesn't flow well with todays society.. it's very old school to think that. I don't mean to come off as im saying your wrong or saying your unintelligent, its just people need to get a better understanding of things... and in this case you, and the others who think billy is the "woman" need a better understanding. Wiccan is pretty strait acting... so to speak.. one proof of this is pretty simple.. what femmy gay guy have you ever seen wear a sports jersey? like Billy did in the issue where him and teddy came out to teddy's parents?
Charlie No-One
01-18-2007, 06:24 PM
No, again, you a misunderstanding me as well. I don't think he is weaker anymore (like I said, he seemed so in when we saw him before the powers thing). I don't think he is girlish. I think out of the two, he seems the one that would be more comforting and having that loving touch that mostly women have in the relationship.
LouFerignoDemon
01-18-2007, 06:32 PM
Actually, he's already shown that, by using what would most likely be "woman patter". When he's commenting about how Teddy doesn't listen, and it must come from his parents, and such. Things "usually only" women would say in such a situation as the one they were in. He's the one who most likely requires comfort.
Just because the guy is a little more effeminate, doesn't mean that he must be a crossdressing "flamer" COMICBOY. I mean, in a lesbian relationship, hardly, if EVER, is there an obvious butch, and an obvious girly girl. And same with many male relationships. God knows I've only had a few girlfriends where the other was the physically obvious "lead", where most just looked like your normal, everyday girl. But that structure WILL exist in all relationships that last. One will be more submitful to the other. He may not do it every time you see him, but he will be the one that more or less follows the lead. And so far, Billy's been doing most of the following.

agreed, but it does balance out, as i've come to find out, even though i typically like to "pitch" and be in control, other times i just don't, it's kinda nice to have not control over a part of my life sexually or not, sometimes its nice to indeed depend... and both have shown cases of that, Wiccan follows Hulkling cuz he loves him, that and hulkling rushes into things and wiccan doesnt want to see him get hurt so follows. But other times its Teddy who needs the comforting and to depend on wiccan.. so i really see it as a give or take thing, it was relationships are all about, its not as simple as "ones the man, ones the woman"

I think we're trying to talk about two sides of the same coin here. No relationship is pure dominant/subserviant, but just the overlaying role of the relationship. One is more likely to be "in charge" of the relationship or the male role as it has come to over the years, and one will be the other, or the female role, as it has been known over the years.
While I agree, it's no absolute, always 100% of the time like that every second of the day. All relationships work that way, regardless.

Okay, so after re-reading the series over the last couple of week minus issue 1 which I don't own, but have read (What can I say, i'm a s low reader.) My final grade on YA is gonna have to be and A if not a B+. I really miss ths book, but at least we are still seeing the characters in other books. Now, I wish that we could've seen more in this series. What?
1) We've seen most of the kids' home life, but never their school life.
2) I keep hearing about Billy's little brothers, but we've never met them.
3) How was tommy's home life?
4) We met Teddy's mom that one time, but she's dead now. Will we have flashbacks about her?
5) Do any of them go to the same schools?
6) How long have Billy and Teddy known each other? It's hinted that they were friends before YA, but since they were children maybe?
7) Have Billy's parents met Eli, Kate and Cassie before Teddy's mom died? Same question about Eli's grandparents before Eli got shot.
8) And finally, Why won't Cassie go away? (J/k)
I guess these are things we may or may not get updated on until season 2. So I ask you guys, whats on your wishlist for next season?
I can't wait to see Hulking's reaction to the fact that his daddy is alive and well.

I originally thought they knew each other for a while, but the Special that detailed origins doesn't give any indication of that.
5) Do any of them go to the same schools?
Kate goes to some private school, a Catholic one by her wardrobe; judging by the team's congregation to meet with Eli in #9, and his reaction, I'm guessing none of them go the same school as him; Cassie's younger then everybody else; Speed blew up his school, so obviously not; Billy and Teddy might go to the same school.
Anyway, things I'd like to see:
1. The roster stays stable, with no new additions or subtractions.
2. We've already seen the YA team up with the New Avengers in "Family Matters;" it would be cool for them to meet up with the MU's other major teams, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men as well.
3. A thorough explanation for Speed and Wiccan's family connections.
4. I'd like to see an issue dedicated to the YAs' situation during "Civil War," since their own series wasn't around, and the War should have seriously affected pretty much every character's situation, aside from the Vision.

i thought heinberg explained it well... Wiccan's powers are based on desire... right now his greatest way to focus is saying it... its pretty simple his power is mental.. and at the moment he has better control of it when he repeats it over and over out loud to himself.. thats how i look at it..

As an aside, magic in the Marvel universe has specific rules. All magicians in the Marvel universe should be capable of telekinesis, telepathy, astral projection, and other personal powers (http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/article/showquestion.asp?faq=4&fldAuto=125), just by the nature of practicing magic. Gagging Dr. Strange is not going to do a thing unless the spell needs the aid of a "patron" to cast it. A lot of spells -- roughly one-third of all spells -- he literally could just think and it would happen.
Billy's limits are all self-imposed. That's what he gets from learning magic from a self-help book instead of an actual teacher. There shouldn't be any technical reason why he can't use his powers without hearing himself. And, in fact, considering that he can fly and throw lightning and erect (Heheheh. Ehehehe. Heheh.) shields without hearing himself speak, I'm wondering why exactly he couldn't just do that when he was captured.

Because he hasnt gotten over that mental hump yet. God damn if he was all powerful right off the bat, then people would just complain about him not having any limitations. He has unknowingly put up subconcious mental blocks that he has not gotten over yet. Like what Iceman did after House of M or what Cyclops has done to himself, it wasn't just the bump on the head that made him lose control of his powers. Eventually as Billy develops he will learn to use spells without using words, he basically isnt confident enough in his own abilities to do that yet.

Then your not that much of a fan if you lose interest that easy. When that happens to me, I pick up the previous issue skim through it, then I continue onto the new issue, its not that hard. I do that on comics that come out every month, or even comics that come out everyother week, it helps you to remember little details you might have forgotten.
