I created this thread to talk all about this character and her future in the x-men franchise.

She is/was a x-member in the comics, and a brotherhood one in X3.

What do you think she'll be doing in the next sequel?

Will she return, being killed aparently at the end of X3?

Will she join the x-men one day?

I think she'll stay dead, well at least Mei Melancons version. I reckon if they introduce her rather than retcon her exisitance or death theyll just bring in Revanche and turn it into the psychic knife wielding, bikin clad, big breasted X-Man we all love.

i think they will just keep her dead. she really wasn't a major character in X3. most people probably wouldnt know what her power was if they didnt read the comics and all. i dont really see a point in bringing back a minor charcater from the dead.

She may not have died. The camera does not show her being vaporized. In the book she survives. She teleports away. But in X4, if they include her, it will most likely be a new actor playing her and they will forget completely about the one in X3. They did that with Beast. They showed him on television being white, but in X3 apparently he has been a mutant for a long time.

the novelization is actually based off of what the original script says. for instance, in the novelization of X2, Jean does not die. She goes blind. The script was rewritten after the book went to the printer. In X3, it is very clear that she, Arclight, and Kid Omega are disintegrated. I mean I suppose it is possible that she only appears to be being disintegrated, but she was definitly on screen and looked like everyone else who was killed by Jean.

Psylocke's definitely a B-lister, it's just that she has a small legion on fanatical followers. I don't think most people outside of that group are too terribly interested in seeing her.

Okay i think Psylocke is alive. It maily focused on Arclight and Kid Omega. Heres an idea for Psylocke in X4 if there is one, but we know their gonna make one.:)

Mr. Sinister has taken few mutants from Alcatraz to train them to help him with destruction only two to be exact, Gambit and Psylocke. Although in a core failure produced by Psylocke inside the water tube with her telekinesses she devises a plan to escape. Mr. Sinister sends some of the minions to check it out as he follows. Psylocke uses her shadow powers and teleports out of the tube. She notices her hair is a bit longer and her companion Gambit. SHE breaks him out with her Psi- Blad as he wakes up and pushes psylocke into the wall with a card at her throat.

Gambit: Where am I!

Psylocke slowly starts to produce her Psi Blade

Psylocke: Same question.

Gambit notices that she is in similar clothing as him and he backs off.

Gambit: My apologies Moi’ Ami. I’m just as confused as you are. Thanks by the way.

Psylocke: Don’t mention it. She says as she gets up and Gambit helps her.

Gambit: Amy idea where we are?

Psylocke: No clue.

Gambit notices the needles and sharp tools around him and his eyes glow a dark flashing pink in anger.

Gambit: Their testing us!

Psylocke: It seems that way. She says touching a sharp needle.

Gambit: Why are we here!

Psylocke: I’m trying to figure that out to if you haven’t noticed!

Gambit grabs Psylocke and covers her mouth as he hides behind a desk Psylocke trying to scream is squrning in Gambits hold.

Gambit produses an enrgy card and jumps up throwning it up and into the minions neck.

Psylocke Psi-bLade produced jumps up as well.

Psylocke: What the hell’s your problem!

Gambit nodding towards the dead guard. Psylocke pushes past him.

Psylocke: I’m getting out of here. she says her Psi-Blades still at her hands.

Gambit walks after her and grabs her arm.

Gambit: We can work together.

Psylocke: I don’t need your help. She says with attitude and yanks back her hand. As she turns there are a two guards waiting there for them. Psylocke does some Wushu Kung Fu and Psi Blades the other. She continues and just when a guard was about to reload his gun gambit threw a couple of energy cards at his head.

Gambit: Moi Ami I insist.

Pslocke: FINE! And stop looking at my ass!

Camera focuses on Psylockes butt as she is walking Gambit’s point of view of course.

Gambit smiles and continues with her.

Mr. Sinister is watching as the two escape.

Mr. Sinister: No matter your fate will be the same.

THANK YOU for Agreeing that she possibly isn't dead, but as it seems i just checked on Wikipedia about Psylocke and they now have changed her from her not clerary being killed to Apparently being killed. I stand with her not being dead. We will just have to either A wacth the DVD at the part thousands of times until we clearley have an anwser or just wait for an X4 (If) (we know there will be one) lol.

so did i, but after seeing this post, when i saw the movie one last time, psylocke actually goes off camera and we never really see her die. aparently, the book claims that she teleports away. so its possible, but not definite that she died.

I also have a question. In the novel where does it say that Psylocke escaped through the shadows? Can anybody give me a page number or something. I read it over and over and i can't find it. They shoulda made the movie with the book novel. Psylocke would have been so awesome! Not that she isn't in X3 but seriousuly, the poor girl only had 2 lines for filming for 2 months for the movie.

I love Psylocke, but I seem to remember(and my memories bad) that she tripped or started to disintegrate, but quickly went off screen in the movie. But I was PISSED that they would kill her off, I assumed that she died. I think that they would pull the same thing they did in Ultimate X-men, and have her conciousness float off into the corisponding body(Betsy Braddock's if you think that the body was Kwannon's).

That was not the real Psylocke. That was an imposture Psylocke who ruined Psylocke's good name. An absolute travesty!

Since barely anyone even noticed that fake Psylocke impersonator, I think the real Psylocke should appear in one of the future X-Men movies. I'd prefer her in her original British body. But she absolutely needs to be one of the X-Men.

I'd love to see a Captain Britain spinoff movie with Psylocke (Cap is Psylocke's twin brother). Europe needs superheroes too!

Lets nots forget that Melencon's character wasn't intented to be Psylocke. Names were thrown around for the characters and Psylocke's somehow got thrown into the mix. I would say the it was actually Kwannon because it was nothing like psylocke. So she could return in a sequel played by a different actress.

The second time I saw X3 confirmed for me that she was totally off-camera when her two homies got disintegrated. I don't believe that was a coincidence either. It was probably done just to stir up the fanboy controversy we're having right now.

Truth is, Psylocke is neither dead nor alive, but in creative limbo with Toad, Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike & Cyclops. All of whom have a small window of oppurtunity to return should the writers decide it.

All they need is a couple of lines of dialogue to explain her return in a sequel.

The angle I'm working on is to have Psylocke have a change of heart. Originally she may have been into Magneto's cause but some of the things she saw at Alcatraz, especially Quill and Arclight trying to toss Worthington off the roof is where she drew the line.

I'm convinced her "fate" was left vague on purpose, just like Scott's. If so, then it becomes interesting when you consider that Jean only destroyed those who already committed evil or murderous acts, or those who were directly threatening or attacking her. Psylocke didn't appear to do either, so could have been spared along with the rest of the innocent civilians and "good guys"

no, wait. Lady Deathstryke is most definitely dead. She was pumped full of molten metal, seized up, and went down into the tank, where even if the metal didn't kill her she would have drowned. And if that didn't get her, then a whole dam collapsed on top of her. Even I have my limits for what's surviveable :) It's not fair to compare that to Cyclops.

But did Wolverine ever run into her at Alcatraz? Seems that battle was just a random free for all with a crapload of random faces everyone was bumping into. Don't think that Psylocke there made any kind of noticeable impression.

I'm using that as part of my fuel to help Jean redeem herself later on. If you look carefully, not counting Scott (who we don't see killed) or Charles X who was essentially smothering and mentally raping her, she didn't kill anyone innocent or any one of the "good" guys. The fact that we don't see Psylocke get vaporized and the fact that we don't see Psylocke kill anyone, I think may have something to do with that, intentional or not.

It would, yes, and she does have a healing factor. But even Logan needs to breathe. Healing factor can't prevent you from drowning when you don't have air. Now truth be told, a character can survive ANYTHING if the writers let them. There's already a fanfic out there where Deathstryke survived. You see her emerging from the lake shortly after the rest of the team takes off in the Blackbird. So anything is possible, but from what was clearly shown in the footage, it just doesn't seem likely.

I believe that since the movie is a Hollywood movie, writers can do anything.

I like Betsy as a character, and i am not sure whether she is dead or not. We also saw Cyclops' name on the grave in the end, but isn't clear that Slim got killed.

I have noticed that the movies have many things in common with Ultimate X-Men series, so maybe they use part of this Betsy story line, giving her another body. But it would be stupid to have many characters in another body (ie. Xavier):down

I'm willing to be optimistic. I just don't like to kill off characters or see characters killed unless absolutely necessary or to help make a point or advance the plot. Especially when it involves heroic characters or those you spend a great deal of effort to build on.

I like the idea of Psylocke surviving too. Dead characters can't tell stories. Dead-ending characters is easy. It's more challenging to let them live and survive, but ultimately more rewarding IMHO.

I saw X3 again recently and truly they didn't show her dying, so it's possible she teleported, this can be explained in the next sequel. i hope to see her again, and in a bigger role, of course. and with longer hair too, hehe.

Ok Ok i just went on youtube and typed in X-men The last Stand and found Pheonix destroying everthing yes the woman is singing but i have some good and sad news. Whe it comes to Psylocke's suposed death scene puase until you can see some tan at the bottom. This could be quill I dont know. Also in the air is a light purple. If they wanted show Psylocke die they would have. ANd would have redone the scene so that Psylocke was shown getting disengrated or they would have done the camera angles diffrently while shooting and would have noticed that Psylocke was offscreen.
