Question for Transformer fans need some info!!

What were the things called that use to combine to make this HUGE transformer...I think they were all construction trucks or something like that and were they the only ones that combined to make a bigger transformer??
Those things were f'n kool!!Remember them from back in the 80's when I was a youngin.:)
I just heard about the movie being made and hope they are in it..if done right this could be a pretty damn good movie!

i doubt they are in the film.
i am very worried about this movie. i absolutley love the g1 transformers. my favourite show growing up.
but hollywood have a knack for taking a solid base with tons of backstory and cool fleshed out characters and changing them for the worse.
please dont change the fundamental characters and story into transformers in name only. i can see this happening. it seems almost a certainty.
i fear we will be getting iron giant 2 with more robots. [iron giant was great but please...].the autobots and decepticons have fleshed out and emotional enough characters to keep as the major characters. dont make this a human story with the transformers being secondary in their own film.

I loved the whole idea of them.... The Constructicons build things. Devastator knocks them down. Who comes up with this stuff?! It's genius. :)
