Has anyone noticed there is no Wonder Woman forum on here? Why is that? WW is just as important as Superman and Batman.
no movie at this time, just talk, until they start making it you can forget a forum
"Iron Man"

Exactly!
You see what happened with the Iron Man? We kept talking about it alot, and then we got an official confirmation that the movie was going to be mde and dircted by Jon Favreau with filming starting in January with an unkown in the lead, we got the "Iron man Forum" right after that basically.
Joss Whedon is still hard at work on the Wonder Woman script, but when he's done, we'll get a forum not long after.

Yeah, but still, both movies are still in script stage, the script for Iron Man isnīt done yet. I know, it has a release date, but we know WW is supposed to be out 2008.

Iron Man seems to be a bit further along in development than Wonder Woman, and they just barely got their forum. It'll happen, you just have to wait a bit.

When Whedon is actually done with the script, is when she'll probably get her own forum. Along with a targeted release date, filming, casting news, etc.

It's the same reason there's no Evangelion forum-- until something's actually happening, there's no reason to have a ghost-town board for it.
Also, we don't really support WW... The only thing we really care about is what actress is hot enough to play her... any threads about a story, villains or other WW characters die within a few days... I think the costume thread stuck around awhile because there was debate, but a WW forum would be deader than the Superman Video Games forum was...

Yeah, but assuming she does get her own forum, are all these Wonder Woman threads going to be moved over, or lost completely?

Exactly. So far, Iron Man has a few vague hints about the plot, an early draft of the script, casting rumors, a director, and a couple of vague statements about the costume.
Wonder Woman, on the other hand... uh... doesn't have as many fans on the Hype.
Steelsheen

that's because the real WW fans are in a WW forum elsewhere.

They just issued an article w/Whedon where he said he just finished the second draft...that doesn't mean he's done. In face, he said he's "having a hard time getting his head around it(wonder woman)" ...I said bats & supes have such great pivital origins, but it's hard to hammer down a good WW origin. Plus, bats has such a "great rogue's gallery"...
I don't doubt he'll do a good job, but it isn't an easy one.

Man, what do I do to get the ad homenimen arguements so often?
I made an observation about what we, SHH in general tend to do, no comments about my personal thoughts about WW were given, nor can they be inferred...

I can clearly understand if he's having some difficulties with it. Especially with all the other heroine films having their down falls in the past, I can't blame him if he's feeling a bit of pressure for introducing the character correctly to people. The doesn't necessarily make him the wrong person for the task. And I personally don't mind the wait, as long as he feels he's capturing the basis of Wonder Woman and the story he's trying to produce.

Plus, she really doesn't have any recognizable villains other than Cheetah, and does someone want to tell me how you translate Cheetah to the big screen???
Even casual DC fans will struggle to name WW villains. Only HARDCORE fans would be able to name more than one or two others! He's got a tough road, no doubt. Plus, she's regarded as one of the "big 3", and that creates pressure to live up to the standards of Batman Begins/Superman Returns!

Is it b/c she wears red, white, & blue. AND the fact that we are an equal rights people. AND the fact that she's so tough and a classic character? B/C reallistically, the more i think about it, WW's part of the big-3 b/c well, she's part of the big-3...it's like I know it and believe it b/c i've always been told that or read it, but do sales reflect it? do the fans gravitate to this ideal? b/c maybe she's sinking far away from big-3 status and no one will admit it yet?

Why thank you. I am nobody special. Just a comic book fan (not as hard core as a lot of others on this board). I will be nice this time and give you a clue as to who I am though. I wrote a letter to the editor and it got published in Edited. That's the only clue you are going to get.

She deserves it partly because she's been around for as long as Superman and Batman, partly because she is and was designed to be a feminist icon, and mostly because she is trully the first female superheroine. The time is right for comic book heroes again and, just like Superman and Batman, the character (Wonder Woman) deserves to have her own film, althought I still think that both the producers and the studios will need to figure out just how they are going to overcome the curse that female comicbook superheroine films have on them (the don't seem to make money in solo at the boxoffice). I am not too worried about the pace of the production since they have said that the filming is top secret anyway (which means to me that you can't believe anything you read or hear about it from anyone) and I want to believe they are working hard at trying to get the film done right.

Truth be told, it does have to do with the fact that she is a superheroine, not a superhero. Most of the female hero forums on here have been vaporized soon after their movie releases, mostly due to them sucking. While WW has a huge male fanbase, it's nowhere as big as Bats or Supes male fanbase. People are gonna be treading carefully with her, as she could be the first classic female comic character to do very well box office and critical wise if Whedon does it right. If she comes off as an Elektra or Catwoman, then....it's over. Whedon can make her stunningly attractive, but he has to give her a lot of depth to balance it out.

WW's future now depends on Superman Returns. Some people love it, but I've noticed some people don't. I think next year's Harry Potter could do better.

All I've read about is the Whedon's script. No word on special effects R&D, no artists mentioned working on pre-production, nadda. So Jon Favreau is handling more than the script, he must have gotten a bigger green light.

Didn't Joel Silver say that the project was Top Secret? Wouldn't this mean that any details like SFX R&D, casting, set design, et. al. would be cosidered confidential (at least) and on a "need to know" basis even to those on the inside? I ask these questions because projects like this normally take 3 years to produce. If the film is supposedly set to be released next year, all of this infrastructure should be in place by now and filming should be starting soon.

I think the difference is simply Marvel went out and said, we're releasing the movie May 2nd, 2008. That's it. Cut and dry.
Wonder Woman however (as well as Flash), WB doesn't seem to be in any kind of rush to get them out. Y'know, they've always said maybe WW will come out in '07, or 08. They're letting Whedon do his thing and get it all hammered down right...hopefully it turns out to be a good decision.

I agree 100%. On 15th May, Equality Now honoured Joss Whedon for his contribution to gender equality in film and television.
He gave an illuminating speech on his perspective on female characters that convinces me he will do an outstanding job with WW provided the studio execs leave him alone.
Here's the download link of the video of his speech :
